The agent, Allison Elder, made the transaction a nightmare for my family and basically forced us to use her lender who turned out to be her husband, which was even worse! If my wife didn't want that home I would have gladly walked away. As I have found out after being in Truckee for a few weeks now, the agent has a very bad reputation and was fired from another agency for her bad business practices. Its sad to see a good builder be shamed by the actions of the person representing them.

I asked for pictures of his other work, again, it took me calling him several times to get the pictures. I received his quote, and it was 5 TIMES HIGHER than the other two quotes I received. DFC remained on budget and the final product was top quality. We could not be more pleased. This past winter was our first winter in the house and we were so pleased that the house was extremely well constructed and energy efficient. Building a house from a far can cause some problems, but DFC did an excellent job of keeping us informed on progress and problems through regular communication and lots of pictures. The quality of sub contractors hired by DFC was fantastic and they had a very good working relationships with all the trades. An update...plumbing had major issues in the bathroom. I had to replace the cartridge in the…read moreshower. Had to fix the toilet housing. Had to replace the tub drain. The grout has also began to crack in more places and is completely coming out on the bathroom floor and the kitchen floor. I will have to have someone re-grout the entire area around the tub to prevent water from leaking in.
