This review is solely on their customer service because it was so bad I never got the chance to…read morereview the quality of their work. I called Ipsen construction on a Thursday and the lady on the phone said she could have Ryan, the owner out the next day, Friday at 2pm for a quote to have some doors installed. 2pm Friday comes and no call saying they are on their way or running late. I attempted to call both the office and Ryan's cell phone and received no answer. He ended up showing up at 2:10 which wasn't that big of a deal. But good customer service would have been to call and say they were running late. He looks at the work to be done and says he will have the quote to me the next day, Saturday and could do the work the following week. Saturday comes and goes. No quote. I call that Monday and the lady at the office takes my email again and says it will be over in the next day or two. I don't get it for a week later. And it was incorrect based on our conversation. I emailed back with the corrections that took 3 more days to receive an updated estimate. I have called the office serval times in the last week looking for a start date. They never answer their phones and they do not call back. Don't waste your time with this company, they will just string you along.

ALL members of the GLA team are friendly, respectable and want to be sure that everyone is happy with their homes. However I recently made a…read morepurchase and feel compelled to say that the Agent who represents the builder is unprofessional and unethical! The agent, Allison Elder, made the transaction a nightmare for my family and basically forced us to use her lender who turned out to be her husband, which was even worse! If my wife didn't want that home I would have gladly walked away. As I have found out after being in Truckee for a few weeks now, the agent has a very bad reputation and was fired from another agency for her bad business practices. Its sad to see a good builder be shamed by the actions of the person representing them.

My family hired this company to renovate our family cabin in 2021 and we had a terrible - what I…read morewould even characterize as dangerous - experience. The project involved numerous errors that required repeated corrections. Instead of being resolved promptly, it took approximately three years of ongoing communications, site visits, and repairs before many of the problems were addressed. The amount of time, stress, and effort required to get the work corrected was far beyond what I expected when hiring a licensed contractor who charged close to $180,000 for the renovation. Unfortunately, one tragic error we only just discovered one month ago: they evidently installed the dishwasher without first putting in the legally required air gap. The dishwasher, operating without an air gap, builds up with standing water, blockages, foul odors, lack of proper drainage, hazardous mold, and biofilm. Over the course of five years, significant mold contamination built up within the dishwasher as a result -- mold we were consuming on our plates, utensils and cups. We have since incurred substantial expenses for inspection, remediation, replacement, and medical evaluations. Several members of our family, including a child, have experienced health problems that we believe are related to prolonged mold exposure. As a mother, I cannot describe the fear and horror of discovering that your child has these terrible toxins built up in his body -- toxins that have neurological, immune, gastrointestinal, and other impacts -- because he has been consuming mold due to contractor negligence. This review reflects my personal experience. I encourage anyone considering this company to instead hire another one. My feeling is that the positive reviews listed on this account are owed to the previous owner, Paul Zarubin, who is no longer with the company, and hasn't been in over a decade. You will notice there haven't been any positive reviews in some time.

Of the five contractors I reached out to, Huber from Northern Sky Builders stood out as the most responsive and professional -- his estimates were clear, timely, and well thought out. While our project didn't finish exactly on the original timeline due to weather-related delays, Huber's crew went above and beyond to make up for lost time, even working weekends to keep things on track. What truly impressed me, though, was Huber's follow-through long after the project was done. Nearly a year later, I had a plumbing emergency over a weekend and reached out to him for help. He responded immediately and went the extra mile to coordinate a same-day solution -- his crew picked up and installed a new water heater within hours, preventing any disruption to our guests. I wouldn't hesitate to work with Huber and Northern Sky Builders again.
