Mt Lincoln Construction is one of the best contractors around. They pay very close attention to detail and have such strong integrity they will blow your socks off. I know that many some other contractors will give you a bid for less money but you really get what you pay for with Mt. Lincoln. I have heard horror stories about some people hiring their contractor because they were only looking at the bottom line and then after the job got going either the contractor would ask for more money for upgrades, sub standard work was done or they were paying their workers cash so the homeowner was actually at risk for being sued if anything went wrong. With Mt. Lincoln, they work until the job is done right! They stand behind all of their work and have been doing it for so long here that they know exactly what they are doing. You won't find better quality, nicer people to work with or a better company in all of Truckee and Tahoe. My family hired this company to renovate our family cabin in 2021 and we had a terrible - what I would even characterize as dangerous - experience. The project involved numerous errors that required repeated corrections. Instead of being resolved promptly, it took approximately three years of ongoing communications, site visits, and repairs before many of the problems were addressed. The amount of time, stress, and effort required to get the work corrected was far beyond what I expected when hiring a licensed contractor who charged close to $180,000 for the renovation. Unfortunately, one tragic error we only just discovered one month ago: they evidently installed the dishwasher without first putting in the legally required air gap. The dishwasher, operating with an air gap, builds up with standing water, blockages, foul odors, lack of proper drainage, hazardous mold, and biofilm. Over the course of five years, significant mold contamination built up within the dishwasher as a result -- mold we were consuming on our plates, utensils and cups. We have since incurred substantial expenses for inspection, remediation, replacement, and medical evaluations. Several members of our family, including a child, have experienced health problems that we believe are related to prolonged mold exposure. As a mother, I cannot describe the fear and horror of discovering that your child has these terrible toxins built up in his body -- toxins that have neurological, immune, gastrointestinal, and other impacts -- because he has been consuming mold due to contractor negligence. This review reflects my personal experience. I encourage anyone considering this company to instead hire another one. My feeling is that the positive reviews listed on this account are owed to the previous owner, Paul Zarubin, who is no longer with the company, and hasn't been in over a decade. My experience with Mt. Lincoln was unbelievable. Mt. Lincon's attention to detail, caring, calm and efficiency were more than I could have asked for. Mt. Lincoln helped to facilitate an artistic project in which sculptors from around the world sculpted 20 ton sculptures at Northstar. Mt. Lincoln came in on budget, executed the perfect balance between creating the sturdy infrastructure, so that the sculptors could create delicate beauty. In addition, the entire team at Mt. Lincoln was a joy to work with. In the process I got to know Paul Zarubin and Paul Combs, and their families, all of whom went above and beyond to manage many details. After my experience with Mt. We had a major water leak in our home. Damage was in the $50K range. We interviewed several local contractors, and hired Mt. Lincoln Construction mainly due to the concern and attention owner Paul Zarubin gave us. His subs were all very professional and on the job when promised. Paul coordinated the entire project and was on site to make sure all details were complete. Job was completed much faster that we could have hoped for, and his attention to our needs was above and beyond. We are part-timers in Tahoe, and had no time to search for references due to the suddenness of this "emergency". I used Home Advisor website to find a contractor. Mt. After meeting with, and obtaining quotes from, 4 contractors, I chose Paul Zarubin and Mt. Lincoln Construction for my remodel project in Tahoe Donner. I renovated an above-garage "bonus" room, put in central heating, insulated and sheetrocked my garage, remodeled my 2 bathrooms, put in stone flooring throughout the house and remodeled part of our kitchen and upgraded our range/oven and microwave. Paul's quote was the best and he hit his budget (a few small change orders, notwithstanding). He is a good communicator, he's reasonable and I took many of his suggestions. As unforeseen issues popped up (as the always do), he worked with me to find the best solution. His team and his subcontractors were very good as well. I highly recommend Paul Zarubin and Mt.
