Sure, your location was a little hard to find (and by little, I mean ALOT) but parking is ample, an extra event venue is attached next door and your twinkle lights had us beckoning to walk in! Once we walked through your doors, your super sweet staff was there to greet us, give us a run-down of the holiday specials on the menu and offer us a variety of tastings! It's your vodka that really shines through - so much in fact, that my husband and I left with a bottle of your in house made Peach Vodka to enjoy for later! We just stumbled onto 52eighty! It's a great small distillery with amazing whiskey, gin, and vodka. The rye/bourbon blend is so smooth! What a find! The owners are friendly and welcoming! We brought in our own charcuterie board-and had a wonderful time with our friends! So jealous of the Ken Caryl area for having this gem in their back yard but definitely worth the 15 minute drive from Highlands Ranch! We already have plans to return! What a cool new find! And not too far from home. Woot! Albeit, without their bright "Distillery" signs to help lead the way, it would've taken us a bit longer to actually find their place. 52eighty is nestled on the back side of an industrial area, directly across from Blue Spruce Brewing, but not facing the road. We felt like we were driving to the back loading docks of the businesses, but alas, we hit pay-dirt! Keep driving and look for the signs. Once you feel like you're on the back side, you're close! All that to meet the owners (two friends and their wives) as well as their investor - clearly also a good friend. Sitting down at the bar, we witnessed their light hearted banter. We felt immediately at home and were laughing almost as soon as we walked in. What can be better? Well, great drinks made it epic. We tasted each of their distilled goodness and man, they know what they're doing. I'm not a straight whiskey fan and typically don't even sip my beloved vodkas neat, but you can do this with their offerings. And, bless them for incorporating Palisade peaches into their Summer Peach vodka. Wow. You can literally smell the peaches before sipping. Nothing added but true peachy goodness - all picked fresh, individually pitted and added to the distilling process. YUM. My partner is the whiskey drinker. We both really appreciated their Hearthstone and Cackler's. While both are incredibly smooth and don't have the anticipated "bite" that I'm used to, the Hearthstone wowed us with its three-year-old Irish Whiskey and Rye Whiskeys, bringing forth a surprisingly sweet, floral fragrance, and hints of toasted oak and vanilla. Don't misunderstand though, the Cackler's was a very close second. We ultimately took a bottle home of their Summer Peach and the Hearthstone, but wouldn't been just as happy with the other two. Wow. Such a cute, laid back, neighborhood vibe (with neighbors you honestly like, lol) paired with some amazing drinks and solid spirits to hold it all together? We could've stayed all night. We might still be there now if they didn't have families and kiddos to care for... that and the fact they do close each night! Ha! So damn good. Go. Really... go now. As mentioned in my previous review, I focused on neat tasting of their whiskeys and vodka. Today I returned and focused on their cocktails to compliment the sunny weather. I tried a couple of my own and took a few sips from my friend's drinks. I had the Irish Madden and the Sally Cider, and sipped the Maple Old Fashioned and the Mustang Sally. Oh lord, all of them were equally superb. They were all delicious, with each offering a well balanced flavor without being overly sweet. If you aren't necessarily a neat whiskey drinker, the cocktails here are definitely worth the visit. I simply love family owned endeavors and this place stands out. Can't wait to go back and try a few more on their endless list of cocktails featuring their distilled spirits. read more

Fun place! If it wasn't so far away, I'd want to visit all the time. The Cackler's Whiskey was excellent, as was the gin. They mixed some great cocktails for me. Super friendly folks running the place. No food except pierogis they will air fry for you but lots of options for delivery of food. They even keep menus in at the tables and bar for that purpose. read more

It's so close to the Taphouse, we nearly missed it! What a cozy little spot; the feel is very homey and comfortable. They have a good amount of cocktails on their menu and we had the summer peach lemonade. If you don't like peach don't get it, but I enjoyed it! You can order food from the taphouse food truck (huge menu) or order your own to be delivered. Oh and you can also come and go between the distillery and tap house. I tried to visit here a dozen times but they were always closed. They have such limited hours. We finally lined up the stars to go and sadly it was a let down. The atmosphere was lacking. Bright lights, too loud and a general lack of niceties. The cocktail menu was ok but not great. It felt like the company just threw a bar onto their distillery and it wasn't given much thought of aesthetics or creating an inviting atmosphere. A crying baby didn't help. In general it was just blah. The whisky and gin were fine but the cocktail menu seems single track. I mean that most of the drinks had club soda in them so it didn't feel like much variety in mixology. Honestly I really wanted to like this place. Sadly it was a let down. Hopefully they improve the ambiance with some music and maybe couches and cool tables or something to make it feel inviting and unique. read more

We've visited many of the area's distilllaries and this is one of our favorites. Their product is terrific, mixed drinks are creative and staff are very pleasant and social. In response to reviews about it lacking in decor or strange hours, this is the case for most distillaries. If they are focused on creating create product they don't put the effort into the tasting room decor and can't be open all the time. 52eighty is not different in this respect from most small distillars. It's really about the product and the staff and 52eighty excels in both! read more

The vodka, no matter how many "flavors" they add, is heinous. Bourbon is marginal at best. Gin is petrol.

Stumbled upon this little gem, and wow, their vodka is amazing!!! Had both the peach basil and pomegranate lemon grass-insanely smooth and flavorful. Staff was super cool, got to have a drink with one of the owners. Highly recommend!!! :) read more

Had a great time last week. Headed to the distillery on a whim. Had a tasting of their spirits with Lou. Then Lou guided us to the right cocktails. I had the Maple/Cinnamon Old Fashioned and the wife had the Palisade Mule. Both were great. We left with a bottle of the Peach Palisade Vodka and the Cackler's Whiskey. Think we found our new spot. First of all, the proprietors are the nicest guys and very welcoming as soon as you come in the door. They are ready to pour samples of their local spirits before you can even sit down. The ambience is very cool Colorado. But let's chat spirits....The Peach Vodka - so crisp, refreshing and down right tasty! If you're a bourbon or whiskey drinker... you have definitely found the right place. The bourbon was so incredibly smooth... hands down my new face for whiskey neat. While traveling cross country, we had an opportunity to stop by the small batch distillery. What a treat! Usually closed Sunday for tours, we were fortunate to meet up with one of the proprietors who graciously took the time to show us around and talk a bit about the business and process. The Peach Vodka distilling was taking place and as the process was explained, I was thinking I would need to try some of that. I did a flight tasting, which included the peach vodka. Wow! The pure essences of the peach came through the distilling process, even bringing with it the light florals that I can usually only detect in a white peach! My hubby gifted me with a bottle, while I bought a bottle of the Hearthstone whisky. This handcrafted spirit immediately brought on a feeling of being wrapped in a soft blanket on a cool fall night. How could I pass it up! They offer an extensive cocktail menu but for me, the beauty of a handcrafted spirit is best enjoyed neat or with a splash of San Pellegrino.
