Excellent experience with this company. They gave us a quote for replacing two hail-damaged windows and four hail-damaged window screens. The quote was 40% less than one we got from another company. They came out to do an estimate, ordered the windows, and came back a week later to do the installation. Technicians were polite and did a great job. Other companies took messages and never even returned our calls, so we think 5280 Window was a good choice! read more

Be prepared to babysit this company. I needed a cracked double-pane window fixed to complete the sale of my condo. 5280window came out very quickly to do an estimate on a double-pane window in a building that 5280 has already done work with (irregular windows). Normally, this would be deserving of a second star, but there's more. I paid them half of the total to get started, and was assured that everything would be done quickly. The technician that came out to estimate told me 7-10 days to order the pane, and they'd let me know when it was in their possession. I called at day 11, and asked what the status of the order is. The representative told me that the technician was incorrect, and the order would take 1 month to make and ship the window. I reiterated that the sale of my condo was hinging on this window, and 1 month wasn't going to work. The rep. said they could fabricate one quicker, and install that for the same price. I agreed, and I was contacted the next day to schedule a technician. The technician came out a few days later (two weeks after the initial estimate), and after looking at my window frame (clad wood and steel), said that he needed someone specialized in my specific frame. He left, and assured someone would be in contact. I waited 2 days before calling and scheduling my own appointment to come back and install the glass; this time with two technicians. The two technicians came in (now at 3 weeks), removed the cracked pane, inserted the new pane, and on the last screw, cracked the brand new double-pane window. I was told that a new pane would have to be special ordered (another month). I was called by a service rep and after apologizing, asked if installing a temporary pane (one that would allow me to close on my condo) and then installing the proper pane after closing would be sufficient. I said yes, and they scheduled a time to come out at 4pm for a 2 hour appointment (1 month from the initial estimate). I was contacted by the technician (the tech that needed a second person) 25 minutes after he was supposed to arrive, and blamed a scheduling error, not knowing that I spoke with scheduling not more than an hour prior, and confirmed my 4pm appointment. He said that the window was in fact the window that was supposed to take a month to order, but he needed a second technician to install this window. Why they aren't scheduling two techs. for this job at this point is beyond me. He said he would call scheduling and resolve the conflict, and then would call me back. That was yesterday, and after I left a voicemail on his phone as well as the scheduler's phone. I now have to move my closing date because this window company can't seem to install a window. Please don't use this company if you'd like a repaired window with any sort of urgency. Vote with your dollar. It's been a month since 5280window came out to estimate a cracked double-pane window, and the job still hasn't been done. read more

Yesterday I called this company and explained that I have several windows that need repair and that there are various issues with each of them. I requested an in home consultation / estimate as is the norm for most service providers. I was informed that this company does not come out to do consultations or estimates. WHAT??? Determining root cause and scope of issues is a job for a professional...that's why I took the time to call them. TIP: if you want to use this company be sure you know all of the technical details and exact issues and measurements before you call them. read more

I called in and stated I needed some crank repair for my windows. The person answering the phone stated that the cost would be $250 per window for the repair. This seemed excessive. I asked if they had an option for t and m to be billed by the hour. They stated that they did not work this way. They must have more business than they can handle right now. read more

Beware! Stay away! Performed a pricey inspection to see about repairing windows- never got the bid. Called several times to get it, to finally have them tell us we should probably look into replacement (never did get the repair bid in writing). Referred us on to Anderson Windows, who got back to us months later. Tried to get my inspection cost back, since I couldn't apply it to any costs for repair or replacement- which was what they advertised in the first place with the initial inspection. read more

Terrible customer service and they lie about work being completed. I've had a broken window since December that I was told was replaced once in December and once in January. However this window was never installed and they left it completely open to the elements causing a pipe break in the apartment. This company is terrible with follow up as well I wouldn't recommend these guys to my worst enemy. read more

The most pathetic company I've ever had to deal with. Whether they have deals or not their customer service is a joke. I called 3 times to schedule an appointment on an EXISTING ORDER--- meaning that they had already taken payment from me!! And nothing, no answer. Left a couple of messages and no answer back. When purchasing my house, the inspector noticed some window issues. The seller contacted this company to take care of the repairs. They were contacted a month prior to closing. They came out to do the repairs the day before closing and only managed to fix the sliding door. We were told they didn't have the right parts for the windows. 3 weeks after closing, I FINALLY heard from them to schedule another appointment to look at the windows again thanks to the seller's agent checking up. One of the windows was stuck open at this point. They scheduled for the end of the next week (now a month after it was supposed to be done). Something happened while I was out of town and the appointment did not happen. I got multiple excuses about what happened. I was then being told that it would be at least another week before they could come out to LOOK at the windows (6 weeks after closing, 2.5 months after being hired). I wasn't too happy about this, so they informed me they would refund me. It took them well over a month to get me the refund. In the meantime, I hired someone else who came out several days later, looked at the windows, got them in working order, and charged me a fraction of the cost. He was in and out within an hour and I have a fully functioning window again. If you want the run around and like to be overcharged, this is the company for you. The only thing I will give them credit for is that they did eventually refund me... 3 months after the initial order. read more

This company is outstanding!!!!!. I called so many companies to fix our front window that my grandson put our porch swing thru and no one would help us out without trying to make a buck on top of it. They quoted us a price on the phone and stuck to that price once they got here. Jeremy (who by the way was VERY professional and courteous) came out, even early, and had a new window in in less than 15 minutes. Charged a large service charge, spent 10 minutes doing an inspection by hanging out my window because they didn't have an appropriate ladder. Couldn't fix issue only offered bad advise. Another glass company came out and did a through inspection and found that my window needed to be caulked. They didn't charge me and recommended I have a painter re-caulk. My painter charged me 1/4 of this companies service charge. Would not refund any of the outrageous service charge. I believe they make money by charging service charges but don't actually fix anything. read more

Needed my 2 sashes in my master bedroom fixed. First guy that came out was great, his name was Ricardo. Second guy that came out to do the actual repair broke one of the repair kits so had to come back at later date..... Left a mess in our room with screws laying there for my 17 month old to get a hold of. What a mess. He also FAILED to tell me to make sure no one leans on the one he didn't fix because it could fall through.... We are on the second floor and our window is a sitting area where my baby likes to sit a play. I complained to management and that's when she told me it should have been marked off until repair was done... Wow, my daughter could have fallen through.... Wtf is wrong with these people. Then they finally call to reschedule. I forget to write it down so I called to see what time it was.... I was on hold for 12 mins because the receptionist didn't have an updated calendar.... Wtf? Isn't that your job? I would NEVER EVER have these people back out to my house! Do not use them! Edited to add- Jeremy came out to complete the job and was fast and got it done in no time. I don't know about their workmanship. I ordered a replacement double-pane window and paid 50% up front. I received a phone message that they had the window ready to install. The problem is that I can't reach them to schedule the installation. They have an answering system from hell that makes it very difficult to ever reach anybody. Messages are seldom returned and if they are, a message is left with only the company phone number and no extension to directly reach someone who can help. They have an option in their phone system to leave a message for management. It appears as though that extension is not monitored or ever answered. This clearly is a company in which customer service is their lowest priority. read more

I was very pleased with the service and the technicians. We had screens replaced and the quality of the material and labor was very good.

The ultimate work is very good at a fair price - just getting there could use some work. Their technicians are very good and communicate well. However their main customer service line is very poorly manned. They don't return messages and therefore getting a hold of someone is very difficult. read more

I called to get a quote for a window replacement. I apparently agreed to a service charge for just a window measurement (half the cost of the window). They told me they could measure the window from the outside while I was at work (which they did). However nobody bothered to contact me about the additional cost (because my measurements were off), They went ahead and ordered the glass without calling me. When I called the next week to check on the measurements the lady on the phone was very rude and not helpful. So because this company is on another referral list I called into the radio show to see what could be done. The radio station was able to contact to owner/manager and he agreed to replace the window at the original quoted price. So I thought great, everyone makes mistakes and they made it right. Well when the technician showed up he was very nice, he fixed the window quickly but then informed me that my window has slates that he wasn't able to see from the outside and he would have to come back another day with the slates to finish the window. The slates are all scratched up so I will probably just paint them myself and not both with this company again....not worth my time. The only positive thing I can say is the technician was very nice and once he got here, was very efficient. So unless you want a huge hassle I would recommend another company. I wish I didn't have to write a bad review. read more
