I purchased windows less than one year ago and want others to beware of the product service…read moredepartment. We are in the middle of a snow storm and my window is jammed open. Second time in less than 6 months this window has malfunctioned in an extreme way. Window Nation is fairly new to the Colorado area, so last year when service was needed a call back from their service department happened within 24 hours and service was taken care of within 7 days. Now its 7-10 business days (by automated text notification) that I will hear back to schedule for future service. Very unreasonable time frame to get service scheduled for a future date. I called and asked for Window Nation president name and they refused! I was going to write a letter expressing my regrets with buying windows from Window Nation and lack of reasonable time frame to speak with them about my issue. I do not recommend purchasing from Window Nation due to their unsatisfactory warranty service. The window remains open and unlocked until a service technician is scheduled. UPDATE: 2:15 P.M. Technician arrived at my door directed by the branch manager to close/fix my window. Took him less than two minutes. I asked why he arrived so quickly and he told me it was the phone calls, etc. I made. I changed my rating from 1 to 3. Although they could've had a five had my request been taken seriously from the beginning. The Technician "reset" my window and showed me how to handle it in the future.​

After getting four quotes, I came to realize that each company pretty much has one type of siding they recommend and install. For one company we interviewed it was LP (engineered wood), for two companies it was Hardie (fiber cement), and for the last company, Superior Industries, it was a material we hadn't heard of before: Gentek ALIGN Composite Cladding (aka Alside ASCEND Composite Cladding). I was initially skeptical because I hadn't come across it in my research. How good could it be? Turns out, amazing. Really glad I called Mike to come take a look, as otherwise we would have ended up spending a lot more to get a not-quite-as-good product. Superior Industries replaced all of our siding, soffits, and facia, and aluminum-wrapped all new trim boards for us. They did precise, high-quality work and it really shows. Communication was good throughout and the guys who did the work were friendly and competent. Mike only has a couple teams, so these guys have been with him for many years and really know their stuff. They listened to everything I had to say, they consulted me when there were any decisions to be made, and they answered all my questions. Everything looks great and we are very pleased.

We found great reviews for JDI Windows. Rex, the owner, came out to do an estimate, and it sounded reasonable. His service manager Casey came out to measure. He estimated 6 weeks for the door to arrive. 6 weeks later on the dot, the installation took place. All appointments were scheduled and conducted on time with highly competent, efficient and friendly employees. Extreme disappointment regarding the quality and installation of the 18 Simonton windows I…read morepurchased from JDI. The overall product quality is unsatisfactory, and the installation was subpar. I continue to experience drafts and excessive noise through all the windows. The amount of noise I receive from planes (I live nowhere near an airport) and cars is crazy; it was never like this with my old builder grade windows. Furthermore, the caulking is very sloppy. The owner said he was ok with the work and threatened to place a lien on my property the day after the windows were installed if I didn't pay, even though I was not satisfied. Following the owner's suggestion, I completed a Home Energy Audit. I have attached a few photos from that audit which clearly demonstrate significant temperature differences. I have also attached videos demonstrating the air leakage using a fog machine.(I can't attach all the pictures and videos I have and would be happy to share) After I called the troubleshooter radio show, the owner sent a crew to insulate three of the windows that I felt were the worst (which helped a little). I was then asked to pay for the insulation of the remaining windows. It is unclear why new windows would be installed without proper spray foam insulation in the first place. Additionally, two of the windows still do not close or lock correctly, even after the sashes were replaced twice. Given my significant investment, this has been a regrettable experience.
