It was a complex roof with many angles, levels and elevations that took over a month to complete which included replacing most of our roof decking, building up the flat roof for better drainage and using the industry's most durable and long lasting PVC membrane. Calvin and Julia worked with multiple adjusters from our insurance carrier to negotiate the replacement of our roof, gutters and metalwork with little out of pocket cost. The new roof has helped save significantly on our new annual homeowners insurance premium and most of all, improved the quality, visibility and value of our home. Thank you Calvin, Julia and your team for your honesty, professionalism, attention to detail, negotiating skills and for installing a new roof that will last a lifetime. We already have Blue Spruce Roofing & Exteriors scheduled to replace all of our windows later this year. We would highly recommend giving them a call if you ever need a new roof, gutters, siding or windows. You'll be happy you did!

We chose MAC after two neighbors on our street raved about their results, and we couldn't be happier. TJ delivered the project on time, completing it in just six weeks. He was great about handling our unique requests, including retaining our original tile for a tub to shower conversion, building a custom L-shaped mudroom bench, painting multiple spaces unique ways like our powder room ceiling and home theater from ceiling-to-floor, sealing and adding rubber flooring for our home gym, and replacing our entire house's carpet. TJ's team also did beautiful tile work for shower and vanity spaces, did thorough electrical work in most every room for accent lighting and special purposes like TVs and a home sauna, and replaced our stairway railing (while keeping the original spindles). Communication was excellent. TJ has a fantastic crew, checked in frequently to review progress, and lent a hand to do some of the work himself, including touchups at completion. Highly recommended!

We contacted Mr. Handyman to replace some interior doors at our home. I wish we never would have,…read moreand I'm only posting this review to save others from the headache we experienced. Below are a few highlights of their service: -They were very inflexible with scheduling and the only time they could come was when I needed to drop my son off for summer camp. -The technician who came to work on the doors did not wear shoe covers or offer to clean up the debris he tracked into our home as he worked on the doors -The doorknobs were installed backwards, so that the doors could only be locked from the outside of the rooms (locking people inside). We have children; this could be problematic. -The technician left before I could review his work -When I called to ask about having the doorknobs reversed the receptionist (I believe her name was Kristin) hung up on me. -After being hung up on, I called back to see when we could expect the technician to return, and I was told he would be back after his trip to Home Depot (we live about 15 minutes away from Home Depot). It was around 1:30 in the afternoon when I called the first time, at 3:30 when no one had been back to our home to put the doorknobs on correctly, I called back to check the status. -I was transferred to the owner of the company, who told me the tech would be out to put the doorknobs on correctly. No one ever showed up that day to correct the work. So we had to reverse the door knobs. -The following day the tech showed up 2 hours later than he was expected and grumbled, "I'm not perfect". I don't expect anyone to be perfect, but when a mistake is made it should be corrected. Working with Mr. Handyman has been a nightmare, and I would love to save anyone from this headache. I strongly advise looking for a different Handyman company. At this point our project is only halfway done and a door that once closed no longer closes. However, fortunately the locks are back on the correct side of the door. -They left many scratches and gouges in the paint of our door trim and did not try to touch it up even though he painted the doors the same color as the trim. - They started the work before, they received all the doors, meaning they were planning on stretching the project out across weeks. I hope it's just a weird coincidence, but it came across like this is the type of company that promotes men being able to put locks on the outside of doors enabling them to lock women and children in rooms against their wills. After my request for them to put the doorknobs on correctly, I was asked not to call back (only my husband could call) by the same receptionist who hung up on me. It seems important to this company that the women and children being locked inside these rooms do not speak up or advocate for themselves. This has been a horrific experience working with Mr. Handyman. I personally don't feel safe with them in my home, and I hope this review helps consumers to pick a handyman who is handy and accountable.

Kitchen Renovation - January-April 2023…read more Deciding to do a full kitchen renovation on our 1885 brick bungalow was an exciting decision for my wife and I to make after purchasing the home in the spring of 2022. With the current supply chain issues and labor shortages we knew that choosing the correct design/build firm was going to be the most important factor in this process for a successful outcome. During our initial meetings with Gina and Jamin (the Colorado Homes and Design/Earth Saving Solutions team) we quickly confirmed that we had chosen the right firm. As a retired executive chef, I had very specific requirements for our new kitchen. Gina took those ideas and presented us with a thoughtful design that incorporated an efficient layout with the premium materials we requested. As the project progressed we were very impressed with the emphasis on quality craftsmanship that Jose (project lead) and his team put into every aspect of our renovation, always making the extra effort to get it exactly right. When you are fully renovating a 135 year old space, you know that you are going to uncover some unexpected issues and we were certainly no exception. After some trail and error with our communication process, we dialed in our communication process between the whole team. We were able to navigate any and all issues quickly and move forward toward our project completion. From design to pre-con to final walk-through this team stepped up and made our dream kitchen a reality. For a renovation from simple to extensive, we would highly recommend Colorado Homes and Design/Earth Saving Solutions. Gina, Jamin and Jose exceeded all of our expectations. David and Deb

Needing a professional to resurrect our outdoor lighting, I contacted Lakewood Electric. Naturally,…read moreI was a little surprised when a van boldly branded with "Mr. Electric" pulled into the driveway. Was the company in witness protection? Did Lakewood Electric have a secret alter ego? Regardless of the vehicular identity crisis, out stepped Jared. He assessed the collateral damage with lightning speed and gave it to me straight: getting those RAB Bell flood lights and Mighty Posts back in working order would require a four-hour surgical repair. He also gave me the estimate. Let's just say the cost was... dear. As in, "I might need to sit down and evaluate my life choices" dear. However, you get what you pay for, and Jared was worth it. We scheduled the repair, and he showed up exactly on the dot--a rare and beautiful miracle in the home service industry. He tackled the job with absolute efficiency and effectiveness. The lights are shining brightly once again, and the front yard looks fantastic. The Verdict: Would I use Jared and his mysteriously branded van again? Absolutely. He is a true professional who knows exactly what he's doing. Just be prepared to open your wallet wide!

*Edit* I don't know why my review says I'm from CA, this is in Colorado…read more (Sycamore location) Robert Madej is 10/10, I would recommend him to any and everyone. I also want to mention, we first used Mr Electric of Littleton (Yosemite location) 3 years ago, and they've been the only people we've used for our electrical work every since. There has been zero drop in quality of people, or work. We had a European light fixture we had to install, and as I learned they do not install the same in the US. Thankfully, Robert is from Poland so he knew exactly what that difference was! With some quick thinking, he found a very good solution to hang it. It wasn't the "intended" way to hang it, but after explaining to me (in detail) he made sure we were both in agreement that it was a good solution. I'm very impressed with how he managed to resolve this. Without him, I would've had to have somebody come in and replace the entire bracket. The fixture was very delicate, and he treated it as such. He even asked me for a soft pad to place pieces on as he worked. He was extraordinarily friendly, honestly it was like having a (electrician) neighbor come over. I just can't recommend him enough.
