The menu changes with season so it's always fun to see his new creations. We call ahead for reservations but I know people that have just walked in and got a table. Plenty of parking out front. Miss Johnstown diner is what I dream a diner would be no-frills just good food and cooks that control the whole restaurant by themselves if not just for the good food, but for the experience of what a true diner should be with a flat top and how a cook does their trade is worth the experience. It was a nice day so we chose one of the two outside tables. It was about 10:15 when we placed our order. We got our drinks reasonably quick. They came by to refresh coffee once. And then we didn't see them for about a half hour. I'm sure it was busy and they're a small staff. But we were sitting outside feeling neglected. Meanwhile I'm certain everyone inside got what they were needing. I believe it was a case of out of sight, out of mind. Close to 11 I got up from my seat and went inside to inquire. The exact answer I got from one of the waitstaff was "We'll bring it out when it's ready." Not one acknowledgment of the wait. Not even one apology for the wait. I'd say the total wait was 50 minutes. We got our food about 10 minutes after that. Perhaps they got the hint. And then we finally got some attention to our drinks. But yet again, not one acknowledgement of the wait. Now the saving grace. The food we got was actually excellent. I enjoyed my breakfast sandwich. Everyone was happy with their food. Yet again I had to go inside just to ask for the bill. I didn't even get a "how was everything?" Maybe they were afraid to ask? Let me be clear. I understand waiting for food. I understand the kitchen may be busy. I'm not unreasonable. But feeling neglected should never happen. They seemed nice enough and I don't think they did it on purpose. I honestly believe that once you sit outside here you become out of sight, out of mind. You become the last priority and everyone inside gets their undivided attention. If I'm ever back in town I would come back because the food was that good. But I know where I'm sitting next time.

Anyway , I'm sure it was just this one time. I'm not sure if I want to wait 2 hours to have the same experience again. Good luck to you or hopefully you already had/ have a better experience.

After checking out the menus, we decided on The Cooperstown Diner. Upon entering, this restaurant is SMALL. Twenty five seats are available. The decor is old and the restaurant could use some work. To use the restroom, a person has to walk through the kitchen. I have to take a point off for this. The food, how ever, was most excellent! The hamburgers are made with fresh ground beef and made by hand patties. Make sure you give a temp on the burgers or they arrive at a medium temp. The small burger is seven ounces of beef and sets high on the toasted bun. The chicken salad is house made and is seasoned with an Italian blend of spices. It was served as a melt on toasted, buttered sour dough bread. A very good sandwich. The other meal was the steak sandwich. The roll was toasted and piled high with beef and cheese. The French Fries and Tater Tots are from frozen but prepared well. The menu has a very strong breakfast variety but we didn't see or order a breakfast item. The price is very reasonable for the amount and quality of the food. If something out of the norm is something you like, give this place a chance. You will be pleasantly surprised!!!
