I've been going to 5 Minute Car Wash in Modesto for over 20 years. I was nearby and decided to run my wife's car through for a quick wash. When it came out, the rear windshield wiper was hanging straight down and the weather stripping on the back gate was pulled loose. I asked for a manager. Duncan came out to take a look. We've owned this vehicle since new and keep it garaged and well-maintained. His response? "There's nothing I can do." He told me he'd fill out an incident report, but that it would go nowhere and that they weren't at fault. Then he said, "I just work here," as if that excused him from taking any responsibility. Duncan is not just an employee. He's the grandson of the man who founded 5 Minute Car Wash. His father helps run it too. This is a family business, and their response to damaging a loyal customer's car was to shrug it off and show zero accountability. I paid for the repairs out of pocket and I won't be coming back. If you value your vehicle and expect even basic customer service, take it somewhere else. They don't care about your car, and they certainly don't care about you. read more

This was my second time being at 5 minute car wash. I paid for the VIP $35 wash which should include a vacuum, floor mats rinsed, car wash and tire shine + other small extras. The first time I went - I was in the process of loading up my kids when I noticed one of my floor mats wasn't rinsed and was dirty. I had to ask them to wash it and then we noticed that it hadn't been fully vacuumed where that mat was so the worker had to take it and re-vacuum that area. Maybe it was missed - I get it. But then, Today I went again... I got in my truck and noticed my backseat didn't look like it was vacuumed fully. I just transported my dog in a short car ride so there was hair that I did let them know about. But then I also noticed that they didn't throw out trash (I have kids that stuff things in the door). And my tires didn't look shined and it didn't smell like any hint of pina colada which I paid for. I took my truck down the road and vacuumed it myself while clearing out the trash. I called and talked with a manager who said that since I left the lot there wasn't anything they could do for me. I asked for a partial refund or something and was told no. I literally just left the lot less than 10 minutes prior. My opinion is that it was lazy work. It took me less than 5 minutes to vacuum and toss things out. Which I will just now do myself. Just had my car washed here, on Oakdale Road, and the car wash was terrible. The inside of my car is full of dust and doesn't look clean at all. The outside is a half a** job and the wheels look terrible. I spoke to the owner, Brandon, and he was extremely rude and condescending. Totally disrespectful person. Older gentleman, bald, was speaking extremely inappropriately while I was there with my 2 toddler daughters. I spoke to management about it so I hope something is done to adjust the behavior, because he was speaking about some very vulgar, sexual things, while my daughters were close by. Went to 5 Minute Car wash on Carpenter... Thank you guys for actually spending a few minutes to hand wash, brush wash and wiping my car dry. Always come here. The vacuums are strong so they get all that dirty out of my seats and floors. The car wash is always cool to go through and my windows are always clean. And the towel dry at the end is just a bonus for me. Never have a complaint and it's better than mister car wash. read more

Worst! Just left there with my HUBCAP broken off ! The worker said I was going the right way next thing you know I hear a screeching sound and he's rushing to tell me to turn my wheel . At the very end the worker came up completely RUDE with it in his hand telling me it came off as if it was my fault . Never come here!! Lol, am I the only one who likes this place? It's right next to my parents home and it's very fair price. They've got the vaccumes when you pull up. They offer air fresheners at the pay station, the guys at the entrance will take off magnets and such as you drive in and the guys at the end of carwash will hand dry car with towel and wipe the inside of doors as you exit. read more

Went today to the Carpenter Rd location for the 5th time. First time I went, I was impressed, second time, car still had bugs and I had to address the manager about reusing towels on my car. They are supposed to be switched out after each vehicle. The manager, Alejandro got an attitude with me about re running my vehicle through, but he did it. I let it go. Today, I go in and I tell the cashier that my car has a lot of bugs and she very abrasively tells me to tell the guys that "prep the car." Of course, they didn't prep the car, so my car had bugs. When I drove around to the cashier, she tells me to tell the manager. He was already walking over and hassled me again. Then the cashier, Diana says "well sir, I've seen you go through twice every time you come in." I told her she was "full of shit," and that I will be letting Brandon Finley know what just happened. She said "go ahead, he will hear you tell me I'm full of shit on the camera." Alejandro runs over and tells me to go through again. I was livid, but went through again, and car came out looking good. No bugs!! I decided to call the location on Oakdale Rd, and asked the cashier that answered who the manager was today. She told me Duncan Finley. I've known Chuck Finley (the founder), who is still alive at 95 and sharp as a tack since I was born! He is an upstanding man who truly cares for his customers. Well, after talking to his great grandson, Duncan, I was disappointed to say the least. He basically tried to say that the Carpenter Rd location "isn't designed to take all the bugs off, that I need to go to the Oakdale Rd location for that." That is total bullshit and lack of concern and poor customer service to lie to me like that, and to not even apologize for what I dealt with, but tells me that he has never had a complaint about Alejandro. They have been great every time I've been there. I bought a car and it had a big sticker on the windshield, as well as writing with wax pencils. No problem. . . the manager had me pull over to the side and he personally removed the sticky stuff and cleaned my windshield himself. Free vacuuming when you go for a wash, too! read more

Just got home from this place and I'm giving one star because some of the workers seem to be working hard and I know it's not an easy job but I paid for the VIP wash and there was nothing VIP about it. Got in my car and it's like they forgot to wipe down the seats, so I got a rag and wipe it down myself. Got home and the cargo area of my car was not even touched, it's not like the it was crevasse that was hard to see it was the foot step when you open it. Horrible place!!! This is the same as going to a drive thru car wash at a gas station. There were four people helping out to wash the car. That's four people that this company is paying to do nothing. After exiting the car wash, my car was still filthy. I pulled back around to the exit and didn't see anyone. I then grabbed a used towel and wiped down the car myself. Two employees then came out and watched me wash my car that I paid for them to. They never said one word to me, they just watched me clean it myself with a smile on their faces. I later called to explain my experience and the lady that answered said I could come back and speak to the manager but didn't offer to put him on the phone. 4/10/2019 If I could leave this place "0" stars I would! I took my car to this place at noon today and asked for a basic $20 car wash to get rid of bugs on a car that a a week and a half old. When I picked up my car and drove off, I noticed the front console had not been dusted off. --Not a big deal... I can do that then I noticed that they had SCRATCHED THE TOP OF THE CENTER CONSOLE. YES, SCRATCHED IT. They didn't bother to dust the the console but they did SCRATCH A WEEK AND A HALF OLD CAR. When I called them, and demanded my money back, they simply told me the don't offer refunds and that the best they could do was re-wash my car. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Did they think I would let them touch my car again???? The manager outright refused to do anything about it and told me flat out they would do nothing but wash the car. They did not care that I told them I would leave them a bad review and tell everyone what they had done and how they behaved. The manager Brandon just did not care! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! Beware! They do not take responsibility for damage they do. I am going to see what other avenues I have to get my money back. They do not deserve to keep money for damaging my vehicle--more so for the cavalier attitude they take. read more

I will never be back. 8 dollars for the wash, 2 dollar tip for the towel dry, and when I was wiping my wheels down I realized my car was still dirty. Drove up to the window and asked the attendant to run it through again, she was very rude and asked for my receipt (really, like you can't remember that I just went through 2 minutes ago?), she had to go get the manager to come out and inspect the car.. I went to get my truck washed today an they did a the worst job ever. They left the trash in my truck pushed it under the seats didn't even wipe out the cup holders the windows were spotted and knocked off the dash ornament an left it in the floor.
