New to the area and happen to pass by this place a couple of times, decided to give it a try. I got the VIP Package which was $38. I thought it was a little high but was highly impressed how clean they made the inside of my car. There was something sticky on one of my plastic mats and I noticed they washed it and were able to remove all the dirt. I loved it. I may be going back to see if they have some sort of monthly package especially for the summer time. Awesome job!! read more

I've been going to 5 Minute Car Wash in Modesto for over 20 years. I was nearby and decided to run my wife's car through for a quick wash. When it came out, the rear windshield wiper was hanging straight down and the weather stripping on the back gate was pulled loose. I asked for a manager. Duncan came out to take a look. We've owned this vehicle since new and keep it garaged and well-maintained. His response? "There's nothing I can do." He told me he'd fill out an incident report, but that it would go nowhere and that they weren't at fault. Then he said, "I just work here," as if that excused him from taking any responsibility. Duncan is not just an employee. He's the grandson of the man who founded 5 Minute Car Wash. His father helps run it too. This is a family business, and their response to damaging a loyal customer's car was to shrug it off and show zero accountability. I paid for the repairs out of pocket and I won't be coming back. The manager said "Don't worry! We've got your back!" They were working hard, out in this cold, foggy weather. I can tell you that I left with a car that felt brand new! For the price, it is not worth it. I paid for the VIP experience and never again will I go there. They claim to clean inside and they didn't even touch my trunk after seeing other cars have their trunks open to be vacuumed, they just skipped completely and on the inside I had spots all over that wasn't touched. The VIP car wash took over 45 minutes. The guy there assigned to clean the inside of my car was mostly on his phone. Anytime he would have to walk back to get spray or rags he would casually stroll look at his phone walk back to the car. Look at his phone wash a little bit look at his phone. The detail was good enough, it just took way too long I asked for a new car smell. They got my smell mixed up with old ass smell when I got in my car it smelled like somebody had taken a major dump somewhere. I asked their foreman to come over and spray the actual spray and once he did, I realize their new car spray must be expired, or deteriorated, and it smells absolutely horrific in my car. The automatic car wash is easy and gave a good result. Not on the level of a good hand wash but good for an automatic wash. It is overpriced. Similar car washes charge $15. This one is $22-25. A staff person checks you in on an iPad, takes your money, and then asks for a tip just for the service of taking your credit card! Outrageous. As a thank you to a community volunteer who has given hundreds of hours of her time unselfishly to help students at our school, we had her take her Dodge pickup to Five Min Car Wash detail. We usually use a service on McHenry and always had great results. This time we decided to give Five Min a try as they have done many good washes for us for decades. We also wanted to have breakfast nearby.. It was a mistake, both the volunteer and I got different answers when we each called on the price and scheduling, and these were inconsistent with what we experienced when we arrived. When we dropped off the vehicle, the person behind the counter had didn't seem to understand the pricing or how to input the data to make the sale. She had to be told what the price was which she scribbled on a piece of paper. The funny thing was, she claimed to be the manager and didn't know the system. (Interesting combination, but this is Modesto after-all). We had been told $150 by one person, when we got there it was $175 (we were only asking for a carpet cleaning). Also, we were told that if we dropped the vehicle off the night before that it would be done "first thing" the next morning and that it only took about 5 hours. When we called around 3:30 to come and pick it up, the person who answered said it wasn't done and after spending several minutes on hold and listening to explanations/excuses saying that there was some information missing (mind you they had enough information to charge the card the night before and take in the vehicle) we were told it wouldn't be ready till 5 pm. We had an event we needed to be at by 4:00 and counted on Five Min having their part done before that as promised so we could go from one to the other. Then, when we picked it up the next day, the carpets looked great. The wash we didn't ask for was inconsistent at best. See pictures. The bed and running boards were partially done. The whole experience left us knowing that we will keep on with our McHenry merchant for detailing in the future. read more

If I could give a -0 stars I WOULD! Worse Experience EVER. I took my NEW Porsche there on Friday for a Wash. They scratched off part of the windshield tint and ripped it directly in front of the steering wheel. I didnt notice it until I got home. I called, No Answer. I went back and spoke to the asshole Brandon who immediately denied everything before he even looked at it. I told him sir I just bought this car and you are the only ones who touched it, he straight up said no we didnt. He didnt even ask any of the workers f they saw it or now and said we're not fixing that. So I said fine, I'll put a claim in with my insurance and have them subrogate. He flipped out and started taking pics of my license plate and then went on to say you cant have window tint it's illegal blah blah blah. He was so unprofessional, never apologized for anything and dismissed me. By law you CAN NOT Denie a CLAIM!, They HAVE to take your claim. They are not Claim Adjusters and Cn not make that call if they will pay of NOT. This place is a POS. I get better service and a better wash from Mr!!!!!!!!!! I got the $32 car wash and when I got my vehicle back I notice the driver side rear wheel well had a bolt missing after it went through the car wash. I asked a worker and he said it's not their fault because they don't do under carriage. I then got inside my car and my brand new N95 pack of masks was missing. I brought it to the employee attention, only for him to walk away. I'm disappointed because a thief with a cause is still a thief. Cost me $38.00 to wash truck. They did a crap job. When I complained I was told they don't detail but do a 5 minute wash. My dash was half dusted, had coffee spills on dash, doors, and down my seat.. bird shit still on front window and other places. I asked for my money back and I was told no. A young man said he could run it thru again but they had 2 1/2 hours to do it..if they didn't fix it in 2 1/2 how much more time would they need .. will not go back again and I suggest no one else spend their money read more

Pulled in with my jeep for a wash and a rough looking gentleman approached and asked if I would like the VIP wash. I said sure and he asked me to pull forward. Then another rather rough looking gentleman stopped me and told me if I wanted to wash my car here I would need to take all that stuff off. He was referring to my roof rack, KC lights and awning. I explained I had been through many car washes without issue. Then an apparent supervisor approached and advised me that "overlanding" is popular but troublesome and creates a liability. Therefore they ban overlanders from their wash. One in five overlanders damage their equipment. Insulted, we drove to Vintage Car Wash and were greeted by a Curt and a smile. Really disappointed in this weeks wash. I normally bring my car every other week to get the full service wash. I've been coming here for like a year and never have any issues. Not only did the prices go up, but this was the worst wash I've received to date. My window was left cracked and the whole drivers side got wet. Okay that was probably my fault but At least let me know. Instead I just sat in a wet seat and had to dry up everything else when I got home before our road trip. Update. To be clear Brandon F. Only two managers attempted to help us. One thing you could do is refund the $22, (which we asked for) that we paid to have a clean car which we do not have. According to Duncan, that is not your policy to offer refunds. Since your hours are not conducive for people working 8-5 such as closing at a typical lunch time, offering a refund to a customer would be a very reasonable resolution. I have other viable solutions but will wait to offer those until we see if a refund is given. read more

This isn't the type of review you would hope to write for a business that is an institution in town. Unfortunately it is one that has been an accumulation of poor results. The past three visits to have our car washed have all resulted in the same lack of attention to detail in the exact same location in the interior of the car. We always purchase the VIP wash which includes interior wipe down. In each of these occasions the console cup holder has been untouched and left dirty. On the previous two visits I requested it be wiped out before I left. At today's visit I purposefully left the key fob in the cup holder hoping they would clean it. It went uncleaned yet again. Had such a fantastic time at the five minute car wash! This place really is a Modesto area institution that has been around more than 55 years! Unbelievable. My favorite part was meeting the original founder and owner, Charles, who still comes to the wash daily in the mornings. He is so proud! He wore a hat that said "I did it my way" and boy he sure did!!! Also the on site cafe, really impressed me. This is a really good breakfast for the price, and the many people inside was proof enough for me of the popularity. Truly awesome. Finally, seeing the tunnel run and the staff polishing out the cars, man it really is a ton of fun. These guys really do care about the vehicles they serve. This place is like a small city. I would highly recommend the wash to anyone! Great food, great service and a area landmark. read more

If I could give a - 0 stars i would!!!! I'm not even quite sure where to begin with this review. Let's just start at the beginning shall we, I've gone here several times in the past and about half of those times my car had to be rewashed two to three times in the same visit because of how horrible they're working bin. However after a few months if not going there I decided to give them one more try and I guarantee you this will be the last! I went in, tried to pay and their terminals were giving me a great deal of stress and not taking the transactions on two different credit cards or debit cards. So the cashier had me try another terminal. Of course it went through. Got my receipt went to wait for my car. As I am sitting waiting for my car, I get two emails from my credit card, showing that they took two payments of $29 50 out of my account. Both had different transaction ID numbers, one was from Five Minute Car Wash, the other stated it was from Chevron. Of course I go back up to the cashier and explain that I needed to discuss an issue and proceeded to tell her what the issue was. Basically she did nothing but argue the point that she only took the one payment because the transaction did not go through. Apparently after showing her three times the emails that were sent to me showing proof that they had taken two payments wasn't good enough. She's in Cole's what she called was her boss, LOL in walks a maybe early twenties redhead who precedes to tell me that no, they did not take two payments that on her sister made showed only one payment went through. I again tried to show her numerous times the emails I have received, she continued to blame my financial institution and say it was their fault or mine. I told her it was very simple, to print out something that proves to me that the transaction did not go through so that I could then forward that to my financial institution as proof that I only should have gotten one charge for $29.50. She said no I'm not able to do that. Our system does not print out information like that. I said all systems for businesses have a transaction history that you should be able to print out for your customers. She again complained and telling me it was my fault and that I needed to deal with it and she basically wasn't going to do anything to make cuz that's how it was. She then yelled at me and told me I wasn't listening to her and proceeded to call in somebody else, in walks Brandon, I believe that was his name bald man about 6 ft 2 sunglasses holding a large bag of what looked to be hot Cheetos chewing them non-stop while telling me that they can't print my proof out. And that their sister never did that, and wow that's a good idea to have a system that can print out transaction histories. Well duh! You should all be able to print out transaction histories, what the hell do you give your accountant? That wasn't good enough. They continue to argue the point and say they had no idea how to do it. I explained to them again that it was not my issue it was their system and because it was their system it was their obligation to show me proof that it did not go through just as I show them proof that they took two payments. He then started to get snarky, and said I don't know why you're calling it our system. I said well because it's not my system I don't work here. So that makes it your system! He he continued to argue with me and one final straw, as he was proceeding to continue to argue with me while chewing his cud and throwing Hot Cheetos in his large open mouth while yelling at me, the customer. I said to him look honey, it's not my responsibility to show proof that it was not done. He stopped me in my tracks and said look, first off I'm not your honey! At that point I had had enough. $30 wasn't worth dealing with this type of business and this type of complete disrespect to their customers. If that wasn't enough, when I went out to get my car. It was still a mess, cup prints on the dashboard, did not vacuum it completely, dirty cup holders in the side compartment. Horrible! I will never be going back there again and I will be sure to tell every single human being possible to never go to this establishment again to get their car washed.!!!!!!! Now I know for sure, why they only have two and a half Stars. After looking at the previous reviews that were left for this establishment, it's obvious that they've had people leave them five star reviews. All the ones who have credible long history of reviewing establishment I'll give them one star instead they would only give them 0 if they could. And Brandon the business manager LOL what a joke!!!! They say this establishment is a family establishment and been in business for a long time.
