Me and a friend came here on a whim and I'm so glad we did, this place is awesome. The parking is…read morefree and right in front of the building also there's plenty. Upon walking and I noticed the place was very spacious there were all kinds of games corn hole, boardgames, and foosball. Being that it was a little empty we sat at the bar and talked directly with the owners who explained the process to us the different types of ciders they offered. They also asked about our pallets as far as if we like the taste of beer or apples and fruit more. Which by the way they have both. Let's just say I had two flights and a bag of Cheetos and my total was around $28. Clearly they're not overpriced nonsense like other "well-known" cider places... People do yourself a favor and make the trip out to Marietta. this place is great. They're very friendly individuals who support and speak highly of other cider brewers.

Let me just go ahead and add this to my list of winery/breweries I frequent in the metro!…read more I heard of this place via Stout Brothers in Smyrna as they had one of their ciders (Forest Moon) on tap. Eagerly wanting more than the growler I purchased, I looked up to figure out where they were located. To my surprise, Marietta! First things first, this gem is located in the back of a business complex. Honestly I almost missed it when I drove through because it was tucked so far back. Walked inside to see that it was empty. However I did fail to read that it is only patio service at this time. My boyfriend and I quickly found a table and was greeted by Cassie. She gave us a little bit of time to check out the menu and then proceeded with our flights. Everything they have on tap is EXCELLENT! From a spicy-palate ruining cider, to a lovely Christmas-esque cider brewed with mulling spices. Had to purchase a 6 pack of that because it screams Christmas time. And I couldn't leave without the Forest Moon either! Such a lovely blend of basil and cider. Not too sweet, not too tart. Only reason for 4 stars is lack of seating. There were about 8 tables on the patio, 3 of which are high tops. If we would've arrived any later, there wouldn't have been any seating.

Spending the day at Montaluce Winery and Estates in Dahlonega felt like a total escape to the…read moreItalian countryside without ever leaving Georgia. I had my crew up from Chattanooga in town, and we couldn't have picked a better spot to celebrate. We kicked things off at the main restaurant for brunch, and honestly, the vibes there never miss. I wanted to keep it a bit lighter since I knew we'd be exploring, so I went with a crisp glass of wine, some fresh focaccia, and the Thai Butternut Squash Soup. That soup was incredible. It was perfectly creamy with just the right kick. Everything hit the table so fast, and the service was on point. My friend even surprised me with a lemon drop cupcake, which was the sweetest touch to a chill afternoon on the patio. After we ate, we headed out for a tour and I was honestly shook by how massive this property is. I've been here before, but I had no idea the trails went back that far. The views are unreal and made for the perfect post-brunch stroll. By the time we finished the trail, we'd worked up a second appetite, so we finally hit up Trattoria di Montaluce. I usually skip it because the brunch normally leaves me stuffed, but I'm so glad we went for it this time. That wood-fired Margherita pizza was easily the best I've had in a minute. There's just something about that wood-fired crust that hits differently! This has seriously been the best birthday month ever, and everyone coming into town to celebrate has made it so special. Of course, I couldn't leave without hitting the gift shop for that coconut scrub. If you know, you know. This stuff makes your hands feel like velvet. It's a total staple. I'm already planning my next trip back to see more of the grounds. From the moment you arrive, you can tell Mercier Orchards is something special. There is so much packed into this one location that it almost feels like a small village built around apples and everything that comes with them. Inside the main store, the selection is honestly overwhelming in the best way possible -- home goods, gifts, jams, jellies, preserves, baking mixes, sauces, butters, ciders... anything and everything apple-related, plus plenty of other fruit-based goodies. It's the kind of place where you say "I'm just going to browse" and then walk out with bags of stuff you didn't know you needed. Then there's the bakery. Seven lines. All long. And all moving surprisingly well. I eventually stepped out of line after about 15 minutes, but not before getting a solid look at the pastries, pies, breads, and desserts -- everything looked incredible. Even without buying anything that round, the bakery alone is worth the stop. Now let's talk about the apple picking experience -- because this is where the magic really happens. Riding out on a trailer attached to a tractor felt like something straight out of a fall movie. The views, the air, the vibe -- it's peaceful, exciting, and nostalgic all at the same time. The apples change with the season, and the ones we picked were delicious and lasted a long time. No pesticides, just straight calcium. Fresh, crisp, and perfect. And yes... get a bag or three like I did. You're going to want them. The entire place also makes for amazing photo opportunities. Whether it's the orchard, the tractor ride, the store, or the scenery -- this is one of those spots where your camera roll is guaranteed to fill up. The only negative moment of the day happened when I went to grab some cider and one of the guys behind the counter completely ignored me. I actually had to call him out -- like, "Did you not see me standing here?" Not great. But that one interaction couldn't even come close to outweighing everything else this place offers. Bottom line: If you're anywhere in the area -- or even thinking about making a day trip -- you absolutely have to go. It's a little off the beaten path, so I don't expect most people to just "stumble" upon it... but if you plan it, you won't regret it. This is an experience, not just a stop.
