However, our visit took a turn for the worst when an assistant manager rushed over, saying my son wasn't allowed to play with those items. Keep in mind, there is nothing breakable about them nor was my son in anyone's way or making noise. I informed the man that I would pick them up, but he proceeded to reach over my son and put them all away in a huff, repeating that he wasn't allowed to touch them and would be in the way if someone wanted to buy them. My husband walked over with his chosen backpack and we decided not to purchase due to the assistant manager's rude and impatient attitude. I completely understand and support establishments that choose to not have children as customers, whether it is a restaurant, theater, or store. As far as I know, the North Face store doesn't have such a rule. Please educate your employees on their attitudes toward children if they are in fact allowed in your store. There is a time and a place to call a parent/child out on bad behavior, whether it is a child not being watched or running recklessly through the store, disturbing other customers. When I tell you these ladies allowed me to sit as they checked their stores for items that would work for me. They treated me as if I was some millionaire and they were my personal shoppers. Although we didn't find a complete outfit we did find a blouse. Jenny helped me save some much money I walked out of there and only spent $13.41. That's it. Not even $20 and these ladies treated me as if I spent thousands of dollars. I highly recommend this store, this location and these sales associates.

The woman working here let me know that, because I wore the item more than once, it's not "really" returnable. And that the pilling on my leggings are normal "wear and tear". (I'll note: i typically love Athleta but I've had some leggings for 5+ years with zero pilling...Athleta leggings should not pill). She said returns/exchanges are up to store discretion, contrary to the global return policy. And her decision was to not accept my leggings. What made matters worse was when she picked up the phone, held it to her ear, clearly about to take another call -- all while I was talking to her. It was clear she was trying to end the conversation and rush me out. I knew this person was wrong, so I called the Athleta customer service dept on the drive home, who confirmed that this person was indeed wrong. In their words: "She should have accepted your leggings." They offered to call her directly and read her the policy, or help me resolve the issue via email. I chose the latter -- mostly because this person made me pretty uncomfortable in-store. I normally love Athleta, but this woman's attitude was pretty rough and her refusal to honor Athleta's exchange policy was just not ok. Thankfully, Athleta corporate came through.

The associate at the register was friendly & of course, per usual, tried to get me to open up a GAP Card. But he didn't go into a long winded talk after I politely told him "no."
