Their library of handbooks and merit badge books is outstanding. And they keep up on new editions, as I found out with my Commissioner's Handbook bought 7 years ago. It was woefully out-of-date, so bought a new one. They also have "packages" for new Cub Scouts and Scouting America members. The right council, badges, neckerchiefs, belts, hats and even pocket knives for Cubs at Bear level. Parents do not get a sales talk, just factual info and a lot of assistance. And their stock of female scout uniforms, like skirts, are there for you. Camping gear is out there, along with sweatshirts, jackets and other outerwear. Nice people with nice stuff.

That may be due to the fact that a National Scouting Distribution Warehouse is immediately adjacent to the shop. The employees are knowledgeable, friendly and actively engaged in scouting themselves. I visited the DXL Store in Pineville this Afternoon, 1 September 2025; - Labor Day - I'm a disaster when it comes to fashion, honestly - with this divorce, I don't think I have anything to wear. I needed some essentials, and I needed them quickly. I'm challenging to shop for. I want to personally thank the Assistant Store Manager, Ms. Paige Logan, for being so polite, helpful, and accommodating. Thank you for being so enthusiastic and having a great attitude. I was able to leave with a great belt and an amazing button-down shirt that I know will get some attention. I plan to come back after this upcoming event, which I was shopping for, and spend some time putting together a small wardrobe of essentials.
