We had the Fast Break special, which offers two eggs, two bacon or sausage links, hash browns, and toast (several options, including English muffin) for $6.95 - a great value. Three stars because it's basically a middle-of-the-road average kind of place but don't let that fool you into thinking that it's not a good spot. A Montana tradition and a blast from the past. 4B's is a diner that started in the 50s, lasted until the 90s, went away for a while and has re-emerged in Northwest Montana, providing a nostalgic taste of a bygone era. I'm super partial to it as I have such fond memories of going here when I was a toddler and into my teens. They are known for their salad bar, homemade tomato soup, homemade pies, chicken fried steak, cream gravy, and a huge menu. If you like tomato soup you gotta try theirs. And if you like gravy, you gotta try the gravy on something. I'm sad they no longer pan fry their chicken fried steak. That's my favorite way to eat it. They deep fat fry it now. But they put the cream gravy on it so it's still pretty fantastic. read more

I called Kalispell 4bs to see if they were doing take out and the girl on the phone nicley sed yes we are so I drove to the restaurant to place my order and Wait for it to be picked up but when I walked in and said I needed to place a pick up order I was told they are not doing pick up orders so then I exited the building went to my truck was sitting in the parking lot and I called Forbis again and asked to speak to the manager the manager got on the phone was very rude told me I was lying that I was not just in there as I'm still sitting in the parking lot then she proceeded to tell me how she only had one cook and that she didn't have time to deal with this right now and hung up the phone I called up the restaurant again got the same manager she told me again she didn't have time for this as I told her I was going to reach out to corporate and I just wanted to be heard and she hung up the phone again go to this restaurant once a week if not every other week I will never dark in their doorstep again nor would I recommend this place to anybody read more

Meal was good, service was good but $25 for a BLT, bowl of soup, soda. Is a little bit too much for a lunch.

First let me say that the menu offered looked great!Well- maybe it was an off night but the service was extremely slow! 1 server! After 20 minutes I was informed that they were out of the steak I ordered! When the food arrived, my Med rare steak was well done, my husband's meatloaf was burned too! Waited at the table for 15 minutes before we got our menus and another 15 to get our order taken and I had to go after her to say what side I wanted with my order. I get your short staffed but at least let your table know you'll be with them shortly , waitress was using profanity, talking about grabbing someone's ass, ( that stuff is for the back of house away from guests view and hearing) and was smacking her gum to the point where I'm sure every piece of food she served got a heavy dose of her spit, how is that allowed, in my 20 years I've worked in restaurants no one has been allowed to chew gum while on the clock, and the food was absolutely disgusting. read more

The cheese blintzes were best I've ever had and the country Benedict the perfect balance of gravy, biscuit and egg! and even though they have a sign asking for patience because they were understaffed, the food came promptly once the order was taken. This place was great! The bacon was amazing!!! I had the French toast and it was good. My wife had traditional eggs potatoes and bacon and said it was very good. But let me get back to the good part....the BACON was crispy, but not hard, hot and still sizzling from coming off the grill. In other words it was perfect. Service was top notch and our waitress was friendly and attentive. Overall great experience. Oh and be sure to the pet bunnies on your way in......and out. read more

The one star is for the waitress who took our order and later had to apologize for the food. I had once heard gravy can cover a multitude of flaws but in this case I think it was just as bad as the yellow mashed potatoes (aren't potatoes usually white?) or the deli sliced turkey used as the turkey for a turkey dinner - seriously??? Or, the dried up turkey stuffing that was probably straight out of a box of $1 Store stuffing. Totally baaad! This had to be one of the worst dining experiences in a long time. If this restaurant had previously left town and has now returned, it should have stayed out of town. Highly recommend any would-be customers to think twice before considering this restaurant for a pleasurable dining experience. read more

My disabled husband and I slowly walked up to the entrance with open signs everywhere. If we had taken the wheelchair we may have made it by 3 which we didn't know is when they close. We made it right at 3, thought the gal was coming to help us walk through the door but now "We close right at 3" and she couldn't wait to get out of there. So we walked back to the car in record time which was 2 minutes later and went to Los Coporalis down the road whose food is much better. This has happened before here so next time we go to a 4 B's it will NOT be in Kalispell. read more

Holy smokes. The food here was fantastic! The Tomato Soup is the best I've ever had. I want to buy a barrel of that soup. The French Dip was great and my husband loved his Rueben. He says it's the best Rueben in town - and the guy loves his Ruebens. We will definitely be back! read more

Chicken Fried Steak tasted old and was fried to a crisp. White Gravy was very thin and tasted like what it was, flour and water only, no seasoning. The two waitresses were busy making fun of other customers, looking at them, whispering and laughing and not paying attention to the food getting cold in the window. Very disappointing. read more

4B's finally in Kalispell. Our family have been going to 4B's for years and we are super happy that they are now here in the valley. Service was exceptional and food was great. Watched 4 tables that were seated after we were seated get their food. After waiting 50 minutes we still did not have our breakfast order. Husband asked the waitress who took our order where our food was. Her response "Oh we changed stations, we can reorder and start over". Will not go back, nor will I recommend to anyone. First impression - when you walk into the restaurant, it looks like a dive. The wait staff are disheveled looking, the food was below pare, and how are they "out of waffles," don't they make them themselves????? Hash browns were done, but looked burned. Very disappointing when you compare it to the 4B's in Polson which has a much better vibe, atmosphere and better wait staff. read more

Poor service. When I questioned what was served, the waitress turned her back and walked away. I was not rude, but when I complained to the manager when paying, the server said I was rude. The manager did not seem to care what my problem was, because the server was "her best"... We never have seen this manager before, but we have been regulars for more than a month during the weekdays but until today we have not come in on Saturday. We have always ordered the same thing and know what should be on the plate. But the waitress said we were wrong. Worse, she should have had the manager talk to us. No, she had to get in my face at the register saying she had talked to the manager and I was wrong. We have never been treated like this and will not come back. Good service? Tell your friends. Bad service? Tell everyone. Oh, in the first time in my life I did not leave a tip. Usually I leave 20% or more. read more
