I originally went for the frøsnapper, a danish poppy seed pastry, but every time I went they were out, so I finally opted for a cinnamon roll. The vegan foods in Hawaii are nothing special, so I was a little hesitant on buying something vegan, but at 15kr a piece, I figured why not. I am so glad I got it, because it's the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. The pastry was very chewy but flaky on the outside, and there was just the right amount of cinnamon. It was also very buttery (but of course it wasn't actual butter). The prices are much cheaper than the other bakeries that I went to, and I like these cinnamon rolls a lot more than the overly hyped Sankt Peders Bageri ones.

There is a small section of gluten free and vegan groceries in the bakery as well so if you want vegan butter with your gluten free bread, this place is a fantastic one stop for it all! The owner is friendly, not too talkative but at least he still has that Danish smile :)

To blow my usual trumpet, as a vegetarian I am always super stoked about new vege places opening up in this fair(ly rainy) city and owner Avani seems very committed to this cause. The Chai was perfect, just the right balance of milky and spices. It is easily the best Chai you will taste so far north. You can also get an ice cold Chai for those hot days... A bonus is being able to keep the 100% biodegradable clay cup that your Chai comes in! The 'pancakes' were absolutely delightful and I would recommend taking all the toppings you can, they were filling without being stodgy, very light and the flavours were very well-rounded. My single complaint would be that the chutney could be a bit hotter, but I am also used to 'spicy food' and it may be a good level for the 'uninitiated'. I was able to have a really good chat with Avani and her colleague today not only about the business, but also growing up vegetarian and being a vege in Copenhagen. Avani is very passionate about good (South) Indian vegetarian cuisine, and with the quality of the food and Chai, and the obvious public interest (if a super busy stall that runs out of food is anything to go by) in what she's offering I don't see why that shouldn't be delivered and evolve further. I'll be keeping a keen eye (and stomach) on developments. I'm only giving four stars instead of five due to having to come back for food an hour later as they had run out due to not realising how many people would actually be interested. This is only a minor newly opened thing that will surely be ironed out soon enough.

The commitment to health and the paleo lifestyle is what made me give it an extra star. If it was a regular cafe, I would not recommend. I ordered... Open face chicken wrap: 4/5. It was a large portion and tasted good but not great. Not memorable. Could have used more pesto. There was A LOT of almonds and avocado - more than a reasonable meal should have. Seed bread: 5/5. Very delicious and fills the craving for real bread. Would have been better heated up instead of being served cold from the fridge. Location: I tried to visit one evening at 6pm because their online hours were listed as being open til 7pm, but they actually were already closed. There was another customer in front of me who had also read the incorrect information and we were both turned away. Otherwise the interior is nice and comfortable but a bit messy with dirty dishes left on tables and not cleared within a few minutes. The kitchen looked like a mess with smoothie juice on the floor. It looked like the blender exploded.

Makes you feel healthy just walking by, what with all the low carb / healthy juices / raw foods hanging around (beginning to think this was a strategic move). Fairly cheap and easy dinner of a chicken wrap (the wrap is made out of egg and coconut flour) and a beet/celery/carrot juice and this girl is a happy camper with a happy belly. A fantastic alternative to other comparable meals in the area which are twice as expensive and ten times as unhealthy. It's a damn shame that neither the Palæo in Torvehallerne, nor the one here on Pilestræde, are close to my house. I would probably come here daily, if that were the case. Pro-tip: they sell low carb pastries here, like coconut muffins, nut breads, and various other paleo friendly snacks if you need a treat on the run and are trying to resist visiting Lagkagehuset.

And I have eaten here 5-6 times the past two years, being every time disappointed. Lesson learned, never going back. The reasons: * The interior smells bad. When they fry the food they do not have a good ventilation meaning the hot fumes from food stay in. * The food is waaaaay too salty (and I love salt) regardless which sauce you choose. Also they leave so much liquid to the noodles when boxing them that when you have eaten half of the box, the food is swimming in an oil/sauce liquid. * The options are few. Being spoiled from the noodle shop next to my house from all the fresh veggies and toppings that I find this place not even competing. Plus the veggies are bad cut having some huge chunks in the food. * The price is definitely too high for the quality and the time you wait for preparation. So as said. Lesson learned and not going back. I still wonder how so many people eat there.

We also got an egg wrap. Order came in about 10 minutes and everything looked just amasing and portions were really nice. You can look at my pictures. Everything tasted just right. There are few features I really liked and I think they need to be mentioned. - you basically make your order on an iPad. There are portions with vegetables, proteins, sauces, bread, salads, toppings... - I really loved the idea relating to pull ups. Every pull up you make, earns you a 1% discount on your order. I got 50% discount! Well only because of Yelps special week deal, not because of pulls up :) - I also found their coffee interesting. It was something new for me- The system is Growers cup. Its basically bag with coffee, where you just add hot water and than you wait 3-6 minutes and than you can pour. One bag is for two cups (people). Price was 30 Dkk, which was not so bad - at the end I have to mention the bathroom, which is for Danish standard, quite huge and really stylish. Generally speaking its a very nice place focused on healthy food. Strongly recommend to people who really care about their health and diet. Thank you for reading it and have a nice Yelpy day!

Protein-baren has taken up shop on Jagtvej close Nørrebrogade, where there's more shawarma action than most of us know what to do with. Are you over kebab? Do you feel like garbage after you eat it anyway? Do you want to at least pretend to be healthy? Are you too lazy to cook dinner sometimes? Are you cheap? Fantastic. Then I think Protein-Baren might be the place for you. The shop is currently a mom and son stop, where Frank is in front taking orders and his sweet mother is sweating behind the scenes putting together delicious high protein wraps and sandwiches. They have a fancy app that's coming out in August so you can order your food ahead of time so you don't have to wait to eat (and even if you don't do that, the wait's not very long), but I highly recommend unloading for a while (bonus points if you're unwinding after some heavy squats) and hanging out while you eat: it's quite *hyggeligt* inside.

I walked to the mall across the street from the Experimentarium and as I walked inside, I was pulled into this chic looking coffee place with the aroma of freshly brewed espresso. The coffee bar is straight at the entrance. I ordered a cup of double shot Latte and Chicken and oats savory baked dish which I can't remember. The Ambience: They have seating both inside and outside. On a warm day, the waterfront would look quite amazing if you choose an outside seat. The ambience inside felt like something out of an architectural magazine. It opens up to the waterfront with a lot of natural light. Each table has an assortment of floral and shrub design. The silver leaf eucalyptus gave off a faint fragrance as I sat on the table. There are rows of table in the center, The tea-lamp light and the floral vase on them gave a feeling like it was a wedding table with the centerpiece and all. The food: The coffee was served in a beautiful cup. The snack plate too was beautiful looking. I was hungry and devoured the chicken and oat snack. It had a little less salt for my taste but it was otherwise delicious. I took a look at the brunch menu and it looks like something I'd have to come and try some other time. You get to choose between 5 or 7 options priced at 135 DKK ($20 USD) or 165 DKK ($24 USD) between bakery, eggs, fruit and greens, meat and fish, sweet dishes. (Check out the menu here: https://www.wogk.dk/menu) The brunch is served on a wooden board. All in all it makes for a very instagrammable meal. I've added this place to the list of places to visit again when I'm in Copenhagen. It's one of those places where you can sit with a good book and a coffee and spend half a day.
