This is a newly opened cafe near the canal in Christianshavn. It is part of a beautiful building that is just a stone's throw away from the metro station.
We went here for brunch because we bought a coupon from Tipster. Although it might seem like one of those mix-and-match brunches, you just order from the bar as usual, without having to mark your options with pencils like in other "trendy" brunch cafes :)
I had the smoothie bowl and the soft-boiled egg, while boyfriend chose "morgen mix" (morning mix), which was a little bit of everything. The price was alright, although we had a problem trying to get under 100 kr per person as stipulated in the coupon.
My smoothie bowl was super delicious (it was probably the star of the show) although it didn't look very instagrammable. The soft-boiled egg? The yolk could have been runnier, but that's my preference. The toasted rye bread on the side was really good, but my boyfriend's morning plate was missing the homemade Nutella and avocado smash. We only realised this when other guests got their morning plates.
By the time we were about to leave, we told the cafe that the plate was missing the Nutella and the smash, and they were sweet enough to give us one of the baked goods as a plaster to the wound, or a filling to the stomach to go, so I wouldn't complain about the service, mistakes happened, only we didn't realise it sooner.
However, I still insist to give it three stars because it offers nothing new, compared to the abundant choices of brunch places that recently show up in Copenhagen. It's nice now to sit outside when it's sunny, but the cafe inside is kind of small and dark, but hoping that they would make it cosy by the time the colder weather comes.
We'll drop by again, to see they would live up better to our expectations (also because we have another coupon to spend). read more
