We decided to do desserts here and I'm glad we did, since it was quiet around the evening time and we practically had the place to ourselves. I got some tea, my husband got some coffee and it came with biscuits that we also enjoyed. My husband went with a danish while I went with a strawberry pie with a side of fresh cream. It was wonderful and it was located on the way back to our hotel, so it was perfect. We got to enjoy our time together, enjoying deserts and warming up with our tea and coffee. I loved it.

Avocado toast with smoked salmon tartar

We stopped by on a Tuesday morning around 10AM. Not that packed. You order at the counter and then they bring the food to your table. There are two levels. I only sat on the first floor. The food here is definitely on the pricey side. Spent about $60 USD for brunch but it was so worth it. Between the two of us we got the brunch platter and the smoked salmon tartar avocado toast + a bottle of apple juice. The brunch platter is so worth the money even though its a bit expensive. It comes with fresh bread, butter, a selection of cheese, marmalade, a salmon with cream cheese, this ham thing that was AMAZING (seriously, how do i remake this??!), fruit and CAKE! The presentation was amazing and its definitely a large portion. Big enough to share for 2 people. The avocado toast came on rye bread with a smoked salmon tartare and rye chips. Also, large portion. We could have ordered 1 entree to share but being on vacay we wanted to try more than one thing! We were in the area later in the week during the afternoon and the restaurant was buzzing with people!

Stopped in here for coffee and cake while sightseeing. Lovely setting looking up the shopping area - very busy on Sunday afternoon and it's a 'free- for- all' to find a table. Queuing is not the norm and you have to be in the ball to find a table and people will jump in on front of you. We just missed Sunday Brunch which looked amazing and as we had dinner plans later we just had coffee and cake but all the dishes coming to travels nearby looked amazing ! My daughter had a strawberry milkshake and a piece of raspberry slice while I had coffee and raspberry and chocolate torte. Both were lovely and served with vanilla cream. Coffee was nice and served with two crispy biscuits. Lovely setting with great choices and quite a few different things on the menu. Cost around 260Kr for two cakes, coffee and milkshake.

    Cozy plate.

Like most other reviews mention, the prices are a bit high, but the portions are huge. Basically, the best advice is to share plates. My sister and I stopped by here on a Sunday night, when most places around were closed. There is lots of seating inside and two levels. The decor is warm with a Nordic look, having fur pelts laying around. For a drink, my sister got the elderflower tea and I got the ginger beer. For meals, I ordered off the menu from the favorites section. I got the "cozy plate" that had a little bit of lots of other dishes. It was too much for me to eat on my own and would be a good plate to share with someone else. My sister got the lasagna, which also was huge and very shareable. Also, they have English menus, which is always a plus for tourists who don't speak danish.

We wanted a decent brunch on a casual Sunday in Copenhagen. It was rainy so it was very crowded inside the restaurant. You have to order at the bar and they give you a number to place on your table. I ordered the brunch special which was a TON of food for one person. It came with 3 slices of fresh bread of various varieties, 2 cheeses, 2 different meat spreads (salmon and ham I believe), butter, jam, your choice of orange juice or raspberry smoothie (I chose the smoothie) choice of yogurt, pancake or eggs (I chose eggs) and a bunch of fruit andddddd a chocolate dessert. It was amazing!!! Super filling and everything tastes fresh and delicious. Grab a table and have one member of your group go order and pay while you hold down the table. The brunch plate cost around 30 euro and was totally worth it.

The service, or lack there of, is horrible here. We sat down for over 20 minutes without being checked on to order. We ended up just walking to the bar to order our drinks and dessert.

The cafe is in the background, behind and to the left of the fountain.

Great location, which cuts both ways: great environment for people watching while having a nice latte and gnosh, but so popular that it's always teeming with people! You order inside, and they bring your food and drinks to your table. My friend ordered a latte, I ordered a hot chocolate (which interestingly, could not be had with low or no fat milk, for whatever reason, which I'd never experienced before). The people watching was great, and given the location, we'd likely go back, but just temper our expectations a bit, and go with the flow. It seemed to have more promise than our two lackluster experiences at Cafe Europa across the fountain, but alas...

This cafe was just down the street from our Air BnB flat. I can't say enough about this lovely restaurant. As an American, it was easy to determine what to eat. They have English menus readily available at the counter. Based on the breakfasts you can order, I'm blow away that the Danish people are so damned skinny (it's bad enough they're all stunningly gorgeous). The service is mostly friendly, efficient and quick. I had a laugh with the first person I ordered from who had no idea what a Mimosa was. It's a lovely space with banquet/tables in the windows and blankets on the chairs if you want to sit outside before the sun comes out (if it comes out ;) Definitely order the combination (brunch) plates for breakfast. You get an lovely mix of American and Danish style food that you can never finish no matter how badly you want to.

Raspberry tart, layer cake, and homemade hot chocolate. Enough sugar to keep you vibrating all day long.

I'm not gonna lie, I think my most favorite part about having guests come to visit me from abroad is that I FINALLY have another excuse to go to Cafe Norden. You see, fellow yelpers, I cannot actually justify a trip to this magical place without having the excuse of having guests to please. And I'll tell you why: I spend a lot of stupid energy bitching about how much cake there is in Copenhagen. Have you noticed it, or am I just crazy? I work in Christianshavn, where there are approximately eight bakeries within a stone's throw of the front door of the building, so you can imagine my struggles when, for no apparent reason other than "It's Tuesday", I'm stuffing 5 pieces of cake into my mouth (the quicker I eat it, the less evidence, amiright?!). Now don't get me wrong. I freaking LOVE cake. Me and cake, we're bff's. For reals. BUT, it used to be, back in the 'Murica days, that cake actually only happened for [what I consider to be real] special occasions. We're talking once a year for birthdays, and then if you consider a good old fashioned American pie as cake, two more times for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Upgrading this methodology to the New York way, cake just simply did not happen. It went sort of like this, instead: It's you're birthday, aw, that's sweet, let's all just take you out to a restaurant for dinner, split the bill, and all 8 of us can share your dessert with one candle in it." So to break it down for you, my waistline simply. Cannot. Handle. The. Extra. Cake. Consumption. Especially now that I'm over 30. *gasp* Needlesstosay, I fight the urge to stuff cake in my mouth just about every day. On most days, I'm successful, and then when I have tourists staying with me, I use them as a scapegoat to eat THE BEST CAKE IN COPENHAGEN. And then I go home, and I listen to my heart palpitate for approximately 7 hours, because this is what happens when you eat at Café Norden, especially if it involves Drømmekage and their homemade hot chocolate. HIGHLY recommended, in any case. PS: I hear they have other food. I have never tried anything but the coffee, hot chocolate, and cake. I imagine if I were to balance a meal here with the other delicious looking items on the menu, I might have less heart palpitations. TBD.

Really enjoyed everything I had here... The champagne, smorrebrod, tomatoes soup, raspberry mouse cake and chai latte! Super lovely waiters and waitresses!

Latté (55kr), cappuccino (55kr) and raspberry pie (hindbær frugttærte) (70kr)

Overtime I've been coming to Café Norden before several different looks (new interior and decoration). I have mainly tried their coffee and cake. The view and location is indisputable one of the best in Copenhagen. I love coffee especially cappuccino. I love raspberry or any fresh berry pie. With this been said, I do think that Café Norden did not provide this time. The pie: too little custard. Fresh raspberries but little taste. The cappuccino: too little coffee taste though probably good coffee, to much milk foam - kind of like the do in Italy, but didn't like the type of milk. I liked the serving style and the little moon shaped cocoa dust on top. Looks good. Try maybe the soy milk. Quick sufficient staff even with many people. Cosy rooms both down- and upstairs. Did I mention that the prices are outrageous? Cake 70kr, cappuccino 55kr. Try the brunch maybe with an espresso, find a window spot, close your eyes and pay.

Café Norden has a beautiful large outside patio seating that overlooks a water fountain and shopping plaza/town square. Anywhere you sit allows for people watching and taking in the sights of the local architecture. The café has free wifi, just ask for the password. I only had dessert and a coffee but they also serve brunch, lunch and dinner. English menus are provided and everyone speaks English so there was no problem communicating. The service at this cafe is nothing I have experienced in a long time. Rikke was wonderful. She went above and beyond to fulfill my picky coffee needs and made my Americano perfectly. I believe the prices are decent and to be honest even it was expensive I still would have paid more and enjoyed the evening. Each coffee comes with a tasty ginger cookies. YUM! Just a wonderful experience, I cannot say enough. Just go!

Cafe Norden was the highlight of the trip! It's the nicest cafe I have ever been to. Exquisite pastry and delicious coffee and tea. They serve all their warm drinks with some sort of danish cookies which are so so good and slices of ginger and lemon with the tea (served in a beautiful teapot). The service is excellent, extremely nice staff! They were so active and efficient they even brought our order to the second floor which has an amazing view of a fountain in a square of one of the main streets of Copenhagen. It was all an experience!:D Just watching them make the coffee is exciting! The way they carefully fix your order and just everything! The decoration is fabulous and I think it shows how much I enjoyed it hihi so yeah, it's a big big must! You will not regret it:)) P.s they didn't have wifi that's why it's missing one star:( otherwise it would have been a strong 5 stars review!
