TL:DR - If you want your windows tinted by the best, for a MORE than reasonable price, by a guy who always puts his customers first and will not only guarantee his work but also your satisfaction, stop looking and call 400 Tint - you'll be the next person writing a five star review. -- I purchased a brand new GTI last month because I wanted a fun car to drive, work on and commute with. I must admit, I may have went a little crazy (full APR Stage 1 @ 1500 miles) but I wanted to go fast (calm down Ricky Bobby). After doing all this work in the first few weeks of ownership, my newly acquired rocket ship was missing something major, some badass tints. I spent countless hours doing a ton of research (more than I should have) before finally deciding to give 400 Tint a call. Turns out, they carried the exact ceramic tint I wanted and the quote I was given was EXTREMELY well priced. Sold. I can say one thing with absolute certainty, the only thing Matt cares about more than the quality of the work he performs is his customers and their satisfaction. This was very obvious from the first conversation that I had with him. Honest, personable, customer centric and professional. These are exceedingly rare things to find in a service industry, let alone this particular one. I'd like to say I'm extremely happy with the job he performed (I know I would be), but I can't. Why you ask? Well, I wasn't aware New York State changed their laws around tinting car windows recently. They now require that all cars (during their annual inspection) pass a new tint test. All windows must let 70% of the outside light through (with the exception of the rear). Matt himself made me aware of this THE SECOND he heard me say the car was registered in New York. He could've kept that to himself, did the job I agreed to and moved on... but he didn't. If I do decide to get my windows tinted, which I'm still leaning toward doing (he'll need to remove and reinstall the tint every year), Matt will have a loyal customer for as long as he tints windows in this area. I'm completely shocked on how Matt treated me. I'm a 3rd time returning customer. He did my last two cars as well as my sisters car. He even did my friends car a few years back. I have given him a lot of business. So I reached out to him a few weeks back to do my new bmw m340. He tells me his price is $300. I ask him if he can do $250 as I'm a returning customer especially being his prices went up significantly. He straight up disregards my email. So I decide whatever he does good work and he's convenient because he's mobile. I make a date for tomorrow 5/12. I email him yesterday to confirm our appointment; his response, "I suppose". What the hell does that mean? In other words whatever I don't care. I made it clear I didn't appreciate his curt response and that I will go elsewhere. Doesn't respond. I don't normally write reviews so apologies in advance but if you are thinking about getting tinted, worth the read. Matt came to my house and tinted my Audi A7. I can say it was not an easy job by the way the back window (hatchback/fastback style) is positioned. Also, the 4 door windows are frameless so not sure if that makes it easier/harder but they (Matt and colleague) were done in under an hour. Car looked great immediately. But here is the REAL review and the reason I am taking my time to go out of my way to recommend Matt/400 Tint; Audi service said you CANNOT tint the windows because the car has a sensor that opens/closes the window just a little every time the door is opened/closed. Matt said no worries, he had done my type of car many times before and it shouldn't be a problem but if I DID have ANY issues, let him know and he would resolve. Everybody in business "says" that but not everybody "honors" that. As it turns out, because I opened and closed the door so many times during the short drying period, the top edge on the driver side window started to peel back just a little bit. I can say confidently that it was due to my actions and not the tint product Matt used or the job he performed. I texted Matt and immediately without question, his assistant called me and made an appointment for Matt to come out and resolve. No questions asked, no "blaming" the customer for doing something wrong, no runaround, just a "let's get it fixed" attitude. This kind of behavior goes a LONG way with me and that's why I am writing a positive review when I normally don't. I will paste a picture after I get the car washed but it's been long enough now that I can confidently say - the job us done and the car looks great! Also worth noting, my buddy has a Porsche Panamera (nice friends, right) and his car is the same style, hatchback with frameless windows and he did NOT have ANY problems. He is the one that recommended Matt to me so that is technically a second happy reference. In summary, the guy is legit; He comes to your house, does it without inconveniencing you, priced fair.
