History
Established in 2005.
333 Restaurant got its start in1953 when the existing cinder block buildings that make up today's restaurant were built as a bait shop/gas station and cafe/bar complete with a kitchen, deep water well & pump house that is still in use today. After the 333 Bait Shop & Green Door Tavern were closed in 2003 by owners Jimmie & Sharon Ross, the property was renovated by their daughter Allyson Ross Worsham in 2003- 2004. The old minnow vats were busted up and the existing kitchen foundation was poured. Boo Corbett leased the building & opened Boo's 333 in 2005. Boo signed a five-year lease and 333 was born. 333 had a successful first year of operation before Hurricane Katrina hit in August 2005. Boo left for the coast in Jan. of 2006. The Ross and Worsham families took over running 333 Restaurant. In the past five years, 333 Restaurant's menu has grown from a half-page to over six pages of appetizers, steaks, seafood, chicken, barbecue, sandwiches, poboys, salads, cakes, pies, desserts
Meet the Business Owner: Allyson W.
From being the infamous Green Door Tavern to becoming a family friendly establishment, the 333 Restaurant has come a long way.
"I've been in and out of this building since I was a kid," said owner Allyson Ross Worsham. "In my life, this building has been everything from a bait shop/boat rental, gas station, cafe and the infamous 'Green Door Tavern' to now a family restaurant with full buffet."
Worsham, who is also a part-time art instructor at Kirk Academy and University of Memphis, inherited the property from her parents Jimmie & Sharon Ross, when they retired after she moved back to Grenada in 2002. "Even after the bait shop has been closed for years, customers still come in with their minnow buckets and put them on the front counter between the two cash registers and ask for bait. These are people who have not been here in years, and don't know that the bait shop is not open anymore," Worsham said. "It's those little moments that tickle me and make me glad to be a part of 333."
