    MOLCAJETE
    Tara H.

One of our favorite Mexican restaurants! The service, food, and atmosphere never disappoints. Their new place looks great. The move was definitely needed. I love their fajitas and my husband really likes the burrito loco. This recent time, I got the MOLCAJETE. Not only was it delicious, with a ton of flavor, it was also great later. Because theirs no way I could finish this in one sitting. It has a little of everything and it was all great!! Beware: it is boiling hot and barely cooked down by the time we were leaving.

My colleague referred me to go here for lunch. With a possible happy hour after work. However, decided to stop by and the service was really great along with a lively atmosphere with an array of televisions with different things on each. My colleague orders for us the "No Way Jose Dip" which really was a sin to eat. Without sounding too cliche this dip was so damn good guys. When I was eating it with the nice hot chips I was thinking what are you doing. You are not going to be able to eat your entree. I tried so hard to stop but it tasted so good in my mouth. Yes, just what I said I was only take to eat one of my tacos that was so filling and the fish was fried to perfection. I haven't eaten Mexican food this good in a while. Sorry if I'm insulting anyone. But, it was good. When I got back to my hotel later after work I heated up the remaining two tacos along with the beans and rice and it just took me back to how I felt earlier when I took the first bite. Way to go No Way Jose and job well done. Beware of that dip... Okay, went back again and ordered some of the same but added the No Way Jose Fajitas; what the fudge! This was enough to eat for two people and some. But, more importantly IT WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD! Try for yourself and see...

I was on a road trip and Googled food near me and for some reason this restaurant popped up and i had the most delicious Tacos. The restaurant is pretty spacious with everything looking great. The food, the drinks and everything in the menu look so good. If i live in this area I'd definitely be eating at this restaurant almost every darn day. Just Uuuuuuhmazing! Highly Recommended!

Great name! We had to stop!

Since the move to the new location food has suffered...we use to go weekly. Now I can't tell you when the last time we went was.

It is law that the only people who yelp on average are 25 year old post-grad females who are looking for cleanliness, community, and an ambience soothing to them. I ACTIVELY AVOID Chinese buffets who have MORE THAN three stars. I am a disciplined professional as well. Let's examine. There is a necessary push and pull (cosmically) where the more and trendy ambience-exuding a restaurant is--pure flavor is sacrificed. Case in chief: you know as well as I do that this cosmically determined phenomenon is most apparent in Tacos (the more rustic and rugged the joint, the more those Taco jointz are gonna be DA (you know what). Now back to our observee "Grand Palace." Its name is almost comically stereotyped. It sits on the corner of a shopping mall in a very blighted and impoverished area. On its Google photo, its "L" in "Grand Palace" is missing. I picture it flickering in the night like the kiss of that one that got away that time in undergrad. Walking in, it is dark--sweetly dark with flashes of red, and light dragon art centered as the steamy bar hisses a savory whisper that draws you in. The room and mixed scent signals almost hugs you a little too hard. Behold the juicy chicken on a stick that is purely fried (not red, not dry, not half-assed as usual). I am talking sweetly juicy. Colonel eat your heart out. Behold the seemingly mundane standard-issue broccoli and beef flanking General Tso and sweet/sour puffs with that red blessing handy and waiting for you like an overly eager date. Get all your normal extremely sweet meats as an adornment for the reason you are here (the rice and the three kinds of noodles). Cut that sugar with that blessed "spicy chicken" that lives up to its banal name and presentation. Onions and jalapenos (like notes from home on a sojourn) join on the sordid affair. They have "rib tips" floating in a red sea of sweet sauce. Oh, add these to whatever you've piled 7 miles high by now. They will be like midnight wine-stains on your dish. The evidence of the crime of pure passion. No sushi. This place is too true to form. It is too powerful in its own right to try to keep up with the economics the place finds itself (this vanquished little town). Pro-Tips: 1) Bring a $20 spot for lunch and that takes care of tip and all. Quick exit this way (even if they drag bringing the ticket). 2) Adorn your plate with the fresh green onions (intended for the soups you may wisely skip). 3) Don't overlook the cheesecake/sponge cake (cornbread looking joker) on the desert bar.

I ordered the LandShark rolls, Boudin egg rolls, Bayou Mac, and a southern-style catfish. Let me just say... this spot was VERY good. Now the real star of the show? The LandShark rolls Soft, cheesy, packed with crawfish -- man... these were dangerous lol. I'm almost glad I didn't come here earlier during my trip because I would've been eating these every single day. No question. The Bayou Mac was also on point -- rich, flavorful, and definitely worth ordering again. Honestly, I had no complaints about anything I tried. The restaurant was pretty packed, which tells you everything you need to know. But if you're in a rush, they've got a food truck-style pickup outside, so you can grab your food and keep it moving. If you're anywhere near Oxford or Mississippi State and craving seafood, this is a must-try spot. Nothing but positive vibes from me -- I'd definitely come back. Thumbs up all around
