Such a great hole in the wall, walk up and order to go. They had a little bit of everything in the menu. We chose the catfish plate and it was great ! The flavor was yummy and the food was done really quickly and the staff were nice. Easy in and easy out.

A to go place type of restaurant. No place to sit down and eat. Everything is to go. Fish-3/5 was tasty and the best part of the meal Fries-0/5 not good without sauce of some sort Tartar sauce 1/5 passable and could be better Service was very friendly

On my way home from Memphis, I texted a friend and asked about good fish spots in her hometown of Grenada. She immediately hit me back and said High on the Hog. I wasn't too keen on a place that sold bbq for good fish but was so glad I stopped by. It's totally take out with a few picnic tables in front to sit if you wish. You basically walk up to the window and order them wait. After ordering a fish plate, I waited maybe 5 minutes before they called my name to get my food. I started to eat in my car and drive off but after one bite of the fish, I pulled back in and opted to eat at the picnic table that was out in the hot sun. That's how good the fish was to me! The fish was some of the best I've ever had! Fried to perfection and gorgeous golden brown color. There were four fish strips which probably equal two whole filets. The coleslaw didn't look like it would be good but it was heaven in a plated section. I had fries too which were the standard fare. I loved the hush puppies as well. They give you three big one and I was only able to finish two. The tartar sauce is homemade it appears. It was good but I'm not a big tartar sauce fan. And to top it off, the food is reasonably priced. I paid $8 and some change for all I got! I'm awaiting my next trip back so I can have a reason to get another fish plate!

This was a nice place to grab a bite to go. On the corner and easy to get to. Hubby and I got two jumbo pulled pork platters. Each came with a sandwich and your choice of two sides. Total of $20 (without drinks). Nothing super spectacular but would stop again.

Super yummy bbq, highly recommend. Even though I was full, I couldn't get but want more.

BBQ sandwich (no slaw) I recommend ordering a jumbo!

I grew up eating here. This was in my childhood town and it's a local treat. The bbq is exceptional and I've often found myself comparing other bbqs I've had around the US to this local sweet sauce. If you're stopping through, be sure and get anything bbq and tater babies! And if you want to get your southern on, order a large sweet tea. Enjoy!

Food is decent but way too expensive for what it is . Service is good and that's about it .

Very easy dinner for take out. The barbecue taste like Sysco, but the beans and slaw were very good. I personally don't like stringy meat.

This is a drive up restaurant. If you need an interior in which to eat, look further. I recommend Jake and Rips.

OK, this is a long one but you'll see why...so my husband and I were traveling back from St. Louis…read moreMissouri passing through Granada, Mississippi when we stopped to get some gas for the last leg of our trip. While we were standing outside filling up our gas tanks, a deliciously, smoky scent wafted our way. When we finished gassing up, we actually followed the scent to the front door of Pappy's burgers and barbecue! There are a couple of things that I associate with good barbecue: for one, there's was this huge grill standing out just outside the front door. The SMELLS coming out of that thing were ridiculous! It made our mouths water! Since the grill was closed, I couldn't see was actually cooking inside of it so I hurried inside to get a view of what we might be potentially eating. We were not disappointed! The ribs and brisket on customer's plates look amazing! They were large cuts of brisket, (including the fatty side, which I personally LOVE), and the ribs were thick and meaty! We were ready to order and dig in but then we were told they were out of brisket and that the ribs were gonna take another hour to an hour and a half to fully cook they had sold out twice already! Mr. Bobby likes the meat to be ready to fall off the bone before offering it his customers. We tried to get him to pull the ribs early since they were cooked and we informed him that we were had been driving for over eight hours and were just passing through. We still had another 4 hours to drive at that point. He apologized, but insisted that the ribs wouldn't be ready for another hour and a half because they had to soak. We had a decision to make: did we simply move on and head home or wait an hour and a half for what we were hoping would be a delicious and rewarding experience? We decided to wait even if it meant that we were gonna be getting into New Orleans at night. We gambled, and decided to stay. Boy, am I GLAD we made that decision! During our hour and a half wait we met the owners of the establishment Mr. Bobby and his wife Mikki...(sorry Miss Mikki if I'm spelling your name wrong)! We also met many of the other staff members, as well as their grandson who was a kick! They were all the nicest people, and Mr. Bobby explained his process or (at least some of it), about what makes his food so great! it was a fascinating conversation! To put delight, they had smoked wings available, so we ordered a tray of six and shortly afterwards another tray of 10! They were so very good and moist! Meat falling off the bone indeed! For the record, I don't really like chickens drumettes. They tend to be a little dry for me. Can I tell you that I devoured seven of them and didn't look back? Even though we had to wait time passed rather quickly because the whole group were entertaining and fun to talk to! After eating the chicken wings, we were fillec with even more anticipation for the ribs. Mr. Bobby was completely out of brisket, but believe me, we will get it the next time we go! He also offers three barbecue sauces, all of which were very good, including the mustard one which I generally don't like. You could easily tell they were homemade, though he told us about some gentleman on Google review named Tim that tried to insinuate that the sauces were out of a bottle. I don't know where Tim is from but he has no clue what a homemade barbecue sauce taste like, apparently. Tim, you SERIOUSLY MISSED THE BOAT, BUDDY! if, for some all godly reason, you didn't like his food that's you're right, but to insinuate that the man didn't make his own sauce is just downright disrespectful! (and it shows a serious like a knowledge on your part). Anyway, the ribs delivered! They were moist and meaty, and the flavor was fantastic! They were full of smoke, and yet there was a sweetness about them at the same time. I don't know how to describe it; I just know I ate it all! Because we're were waiting for so long Mr. Bobby sent us home with some free drinks and some more of those dang wings! I think the only way they made it home was because we were both so stuffed from our meals. My grown children DEVOURED them once we got home! It's a four hour drive from Granada to New Orleans, but we are already planning to come back with our kids and some of their friends. This is one of a few places that I would make that 4 hour drive for. If you live in Granada, don't sleep on them! Thank God I don't, I'd be broke every month! Looking forward to seeing them again soon! Thanks, Mr. Bobby and Miss Mikki for the wonderful food and a wonderful hospitality! Our next project takes us in the other direction, but when we're on the way home, we're going to tell everybody to meet us at your spot! Oh! I almost forgot! He makes homemade cakes too! We had the red velvet! It didn't last too long...
