I came here once when we couldn't get into Favela Chic, so I was already really dissapointed with the night. However, this place turned out o.k,there was quite a lot of us so I think we tried to take over. The usptairs bar area is pretty big, with seating space and a dancefloor. There was also a raised stage bit which we immediately got on. Then downstairs there was a dingy band area, I seem to remember there was a pretty bad band playing. There were a lot of bankers around aswell, I tried to convert one by telling him he was wasting his life, I don't think I got through though. As a club it was O.K, normal prices, but I wouldn't it wouldnt be my first choice on a night out. As for the Shorditch twats, when you are in that area there is no way to avoid them, so I guess you just have to grin and bear it, ignore them and hang out with your mates. read more

It's official summer has come and I've found my new home over in Shoreditch. This bar has the most amazing rooftop garden with comfy outside seating and a fake grass floor... It's the ideal place for sipping an ice cold beer or a cocktail and relaxing with friends on a summer day! The cocktails are reasonable at £7.50 a pop and they do a happy hour later in the evening. I tried the mother f***er cocktail which was the perfect mix of strong and sweet. It mixes many spirits and is topped with lemonade and is my new Summer drink of choice. Logistically it's annoying, as there is no bar upstairs, so you have to traipse all the way down to the bar, which is around 4 flights of stairs. I can definitely see that being a challenge after a few drinks, so I'd recommend buying a bottle of fizz or getting a couple of drinks to keep you going. The toilets are much the same story - they are at the back of the bar and not very nice at all. They remind me of when you go to a club, towards the end of the night and you are like noooooooo! All this said, I'll be back on a regular occasion as the roof terrace is so lovely! I just wish they had an upstairs bar and toilets and also a damn lift to transport me up to the roof.... read more

Music is the main concern at Mother regularly boast sparkling line-ups covering everything from the darkest drum'n'bass to crunchy beats and breaks. Point of beer at 3,80 pounds..but if there is just one reason to go therethis is the decoration. Came to this club first at around 12 and it was quite empty. Popped back at around 1:30 where it suddenly got crowded from nowhere. They start kicking people out by 3, and if you don't have a stamp by 2:00, there's no way of you getting in this hipstermatic club even if you're besties with the bouncer. Sure, I usually go there when I'm keen for a dance very late on a Monday night and I know nothing else in the neighbourhood is open, but 333 always delivers. Yes, it's slightly grim and I have to agree with Fred that you may get the feeling you might get stabbed, but if you can look past that, you might just have fun! Awful. That's my impression from start to finish. Save your money and have a good time anywhere else. I showed up here with work colleagues on a Friday night and paid the surly middle aged woman £8 to get in. Now I generally don't go clubbing because I find it mostly abhorrent so I don't know if £8 is expensive. Since this place is a shitty Shoreditch dive, I suspect it is. Apparently so did my colleagues who complained that it's usually £5. They were treated so rudely by the staff that the rest of us left too. No refund despite me being in there a total of 30 seconds. When I first came to London people seemed to talk about Mother Bar alot like it was the coolest thing, so I was quite excited to go. However, when I went I was disapointed by how average the place was. Whilst pleasant enough, the music and bar are nothing special. I imagine it's one of those places that was fun in its moment, if you were part of the scene or whatever, but right now there's no real need to go. Mother is one of the area's favourite nightspots, it's daily late night opening has made it thee place to be, well it would be when it is open long after other bars have closed for the night. The bar is decorated with red and gold wallpaper and has a black padded bar The lounge area is the main dance room, they tend to have either DJ's or live bands regularly which is cool for a weeknight I suppose. Drinks consist of beers, red stripe, guinness and cocktails. I wouldn't suggest that you stay here too long if you have to work the next morning, but it is still a great place to visit! read more

Downstairs you will find a dungeonesque hole, the ground floor looks like something from a steel factory and the upstairs feels a bit like your gran's front room. Personally I usually head upstairs but be warned it can get very very packed. Musically speaking things are fairly eclectic, ranging from hip-hop to breaks, garage and more commercial dance. There's usually something to suit everyone's pallet. Drinks are fairly pricy but standard for this part of London. As previously noted, 333's main downfall is the copious amount of wankers it seems to attract. I don't know why they're specifically drawn to this club but they do dampen the party atmosphere somewhat. Still its an alright place to come with a large group of mates. read more

Nothing special, yet I seem to end up here quite a lot after having had a few drinks in bars around the East End, but I always leave thinking why did I even go there?! A friend and I only went last time as it was free to get in and a place which was guaranteed to have a healthy amount of people despite it being a week night. Yet what we were faced with was a packed room of sweaty people bouncing haphazardly to the beats. We found ourselves constantly having to edge away from an over enthusiastic dancer who was sweating profusely and didn't smell so hot either. In fact, wherever we seemed to be positioned the smell just lingered. To add to this, the toilets were gross. Some of the doors didn't have locks, toilet paper was strewn on the floor, and one of the toilets had overflowed... Needless to say we didn't end up staying for long. read more

It is owned by the Queen of Shoreditch who is partly responsible of what shoreditch has become. 333 is the oldies club in Shoreditch and has a small basement and a ground floor.Upstairs is the Motherbar which is connected to 333 and when its bust the y do open it for the club. Mothebar used to be the coolest place in Shoreditch before late licenses came into place. It was the only bar open till 3am in weekdays and was voted best place too pull a bird in 2002. It also was voted worst toilets in London in 2003 by the way and they still haven t changed. An iconic East London venue. If you are drunk enough you won't mind the dealers trying to shove plastic packets in your hand. The floor was slippery and the bar was filthy. But the place was pumping! Cool place to end your night in Shoreditch, 3 floors so you have choice of what music you wanna listen n dance of. I've been coming here quiet often for past few years I must say it has changed a lot, it's much safer now, no more dodgy ppl, no more stolen purses, phones etc. They have changed their security, policy with cloak room (you can leave your bag in the cloak room for free) so there is less chances for you to lose your belongings. Overall I love this place and always come here, even sometimes day time just to play pool for free or ping pong. If you like football or any other games they are showing it on the biggest screen in the Shoreditch. read more

Came here for a pre-halloween party with a bunch of friends. It was a nice dance that lasted til about 4 or 5 am. Lots of good tacky 90s music was played, and it was quite alright. Shoreditch twats? Not anymore. Its more like Charing Cross twats these days round allegedly 'edgy' and 'fashionable' Shoreditch. Seriously this place is populated by the same sort who line up like sheep to get rejected from Pasha. Funny thing is, some half decent grime artists play here now and then. There are two dancefloors, one up, one down. Both are not the most satisfying shape for dancing, particularly the crowded upper one. Lots of idiots, including the bouncers. If you really really want to see some edgy twats in action, take a 149 bus up the Kingsland Road to Dalston. Even better, take the 26 to Hackney Wick. If we can get enought people to visit both, they'll be the new 333 in no time. read more

I went to club 333 for a drum 'n bass and break beat session. I found the place really spacious but the queue to get in ridiculous. I would only advise going to a younger audience, because at 23 I felt old. I still enjoyed the music though, unfortunately they change dj's a number of times through the night who play contrasting music, but if it's not to your taste, you can always go upstairs. A relatively small venue in the heart of Shoreditch, two floors of night club action with absolutely every type of dance music available depending on what night you go to. 5 - 10 pounds door tax usually. Upstairs is the Mother bar which is usually free entry, you can drink a pint of lager for three pounds and often live bands of all genre's can be seen here. Nice decor inside with a black and white chequered floorspace, all kinds of trendy bodys shaking it on the dance floor when it gets busy. My partner and I brought a group of approximately 100 people there recently, pre-arranged with the club owner, and were treated ridiculously badly. I was disgusted as I thought the place was great when I first went there. It's free to get in and you can dance yourself numb till 3 am. The decoration is great, imagine crimson and gold wallpaper, black leather sofas and weird stuff on the walls. Back in 2005 they used to have a huge picture ofa cockroast! behind the dj's. Its got amble bar space so queuing is not a issue. door men are very strict. hats are allowed inside, but you have to take them off upon entry first. DJ can play some AWESOME music though. Do not waste your time at this bar. The staff is racist, ignorant, oafish and have no concept of the meaning of customer service. Last week, Friday, I went with a couple of friends to celebrate a birthday. As we were waiting in line, we witnessed a female bouncer tell one of the guests that no black men were allowed in the club. When questioned, another bouncer came outside and reiterated the same racist message. As if that was not enough, the female bouncer proceeded to yell and scream at us regarding our positions in the line. In a bid to comply with the angry bouncer's wishes, my friend took out her ID and was in the process of making sure her bag was ready to be checked. The bouncer snatched her ID and when questioned about her actions, threw her out of the line, continuing with the verbal abuse. We then asked to speak to a manager. When said female manager came out, her response was "What do you want me to do about it?". We asked to speak to her superior, who told us to use the website and that security had the right to refuse entry. Neither manager was interested in what we had to say. There were no apologies made, no attempts to right any wrongs. To my surprise or lack thereof, the volume of the female bouncer's voice and attitude suddenly changed.
