This place is huge- a combination of bar, club and restaurant. dressy. booked a table on toptable and was able to get 50% off whole dinner bill at their restaurant. ordered some cocktails for happy hour, the cocktails came out to be around £1.60 each, wowza!!!! price was alright for happy hour. the menu consisted of a few common starters (salad, soup, shrimp, chips...), mains included burgers, steaks and fajitas- quite a fusion selection of food (there were even green curry). the dessert choices didn't sound very appealing though (hot fudge, key lime pie, waffles, sundae..) the service wasn't very prompt either, as it took a while for the waitress to get us our jug of water and our drinks. the food also took a while to come regarding the fact that there were 6 of us on the table. the dining area wasn't the best spot for an intimate dinner meal, noisy and the table area was a little cramped. party peeps start heading in at around 9:30, making the bar area a little more crowded- well, that's expected. we ordered ribs- which was really worth the munaaay$£$! fajitas was a little overpriced, and a little too oily.. plus C'MON, a little more salsa wouldn't hurt!!! green curry- wasn't spicy enough for an Asian but the sweet coconut milk taste was quite mouth watering. the lamb was mediocre, but towards the fancy side as of its presentation. overall, i'm not sure if i'll come again as there are many Nottingham-esque peeps who are not exactly my choice of community. but with the 50% discount, i guess my wallet is feeling slightly happier than my stomach is. read more

During University I went to quite a lot of awful, trashy club nights, a few of which were at Loop. The top floor is a fairly standard modern, smart bar which has outside seating. The downstairs is larger with seating, a bar and a dance floor. The décor throughout it is smart standard, as at any Leicester Square club. The bars are well-stocked and when I went there were often drinks deals. The music was largely wannabe middle class r'n'b/rap with a crowd to match. Though I would imagine this is dependent on the club night as during the evening it is popular with office workers. Not an awful place, particularly if you stay upstairs, but essentially the kind of place you wouldn't be if you'd planned ahead. read more

I booked Loop bar months in advance with a £100 drinks deposit, for my brother's stag do. Between 12-15 people were expected from across the UK. During the run up, a sales girl was consistently trying to sell various 'drinks packages', giving the illusion that the venue was something of a respectable outfit. Upon arrival, we were placed at our dining table by a rude young waiter who showed a total lack of concern and charisma. We quickly discovered that aside from being hot tempered by his incompetence, we were also too hot from the room temperature itself. It would take 15 minutes before the waiter showed up however, to whom we could voice our concerns. We then quickly learnt that we had GATECRASHED another dinner party, consisting of about FIFTY rowdy 18 year olds who were wooping and hollering and were clearly under the influence. The room volume was totally unbearable by this point and we had not been forewarned of the other party's presence ahead of our arrival. We subsequently requested to move table, but were told that the rest of the venue was fully booked. We were moved temporarily to a boxy part of the bar and were squished around a small table while we discussed our plan. The waiters and staff had by then YET AGAIN decided to vanish, leaving us on our own for at least 30 minutes! One brain dead member of staff then approached but was unable to grasp our complaint and rather vaguely informed that he would 'see what he could do'. Another 15 minutes went by and finally another staff member approached us offering a refund of our bar tab. A FULL HOUR had by then passed, leaving us hungry, confused, dejected and completely irritated by the sheer lack of competence and professionalism that we had encountered. By 21:30 we had left and found another venue to eat at; but by now were not exactly in the mood for much fun. A start to finish AWFUL experience from a bar that positions itself as 'up-market' or in some way classy. There was absolutely NOTHING up-market about the experience - from the venue decor, to the rude staff, to the music, atmosphere, choice of food or anything else. You couldn't PAY me enough to ever return. Stay WELL CLEAR of the Loop Bar. And spend your hard earned cash elsewhere read more

I only had a mojito but it was goooood :) The bar upstairs is nice and light but apparently downstairs is verrrrry noisy (not great for a post work drink but I am sure fun for a night out?). Having reached the grand old age of nearer to 40 than 30 I must say I'm reluctant to go to a lot of clubs. I don't like arrogant, drunk men and girls who feel like they're SO pretty & SO awesome that they can flick their hair in my face. I had no option in going to The Loop as it was for my friend's hen do. So I went. AND I ENJOYED! We were given a booth near the main dance floor, complete with lots of jugs of cocktails and some mediocre cupcakes. We were just near the DJ booth actually. The music was great - lots of 70s and 80s fabulous music that you just can't not dance to. Even in a place full of hen-dos, and it was, it was still really good fun. I wasn't drinking so have no idea what the drinks costs were and I don't know how much it cost to get in as we were on the guest list but I'm sure I'll be going again so I'll find out then. read more

I recently went here as part of "Girly Night Out" with my female co workers. Maybe my coworkers don't go out that much and wanted the over-done-Leicester Sq-type place, but I wasn't feeling it. Seems like these clubs just use the same formula for "club/bar atmosphere" with a tweak here or there. The place had three floors with different music...lowest level was a bit dingy and stuffy I thought. Drinks were decently priced for a club If you like all the place in Leicester Sq then I say give this place a try because you'll get the same feel...with out as many people hawking their clubs to you as you walk by. It's the new Sway. Or at least that's what my friend Dil says in his quest to find the next girl for him. What that exactly means is still a mystery to me but from what I've gathered I think it's the place with decent rnb music (or at least nothing techno/trance/house), serves black sambuca at a fair price, and has attracted a significant portion of the brown (and by this I mean Indians, Pakistanis, Sri Lankans, etc) community. All of this combined makes Loop a bit of a madhouse, but almost always sets up the night for a lot of fun. From memory (which is a bit hazy), there are three levels. The top level is where you enter and is composed of a bar and some seating. It's relaxed, relatively quiet, and ultimately good if you need a break but not for much else as it's not very private. Down the stairs you go and you come to the middle floor. This is highlighted by a big central bar, dim lighting, flashing strobes and colours, and lots of people dancing. It's not massive and the bar in the middle tends to segregate groups but it's alright if you have a party of your own and you don't care for mixing with strangers. The second basement level holds some key areas: i) toilets, ii) coat check. This is the biggest dance area with a raised central dance platform (which you aren't allowed to bring drinks onto and will be chucked off fairly quickly if you try). I honestly don't know what 6 inches of raised platform make a difference but it does give you an excuse to down some liquid courage before trying it on with the person of your choice. This is the highest energy point of the bar/club and definitely the best if you want to throw some shapes. Other thoughts...hmmm...well the below ground nature does tend to make the place hot and steamy so dress accordingly (though that's rarely an issue for girls). The coat check is awkwardly placed and creates hellish lines at the end of the night. Cover ranges from £5-10 depending on the night. Yep, all in all, it's a good place to go for a casual night out and you can hit the casinos right after if you are so inclined. read more

I went to go eat there to help celebrate my friend's birthday. I was a little apprehensive about dining in this nightclub, especially on a weekend. My friend reserved a table for 10 people and we were all squashed together like glue. Service was appalling, food was so not worth 19.95, very noisy so forget about trying to make conversations with people and to kill it off it took them more than 2 hours to deliver our food. The only thing I liked about the Loop Club is the disco light dance floor on the lower ground floor. Other than that..meh never again! read more

Picture the scene; you've shelled out £10 to get into a bar, quite a substantial amount. You walk in, it takes a few seconds for each footstep to be released from the sticky floor .Not a good start. You try and get to the bar and find yourself wading through seas of local office workers, all drunk off the vodka and red bull that's on offer, shirts opened to the waist. Absolutely grim. By night, the downstairs opens into a club. So more the same, but with a soundtrack of pop and cheese - niiiiice. The worst thing is, it's flippin busy! Who likes this sort of thing?! Happy hour till 8 pm meant we could have a few drink before settling down for dinner. I treated 2 friends from India who want to go to a club. The staff were friendly and it was slightly exclusive as you had to book and can not just walk in. Weather was great so they had some of the bar girls dress up in 70s theme aerobics outfits and dance around. It was fun to watch and we had photos taken with them. Food was also a great deal as we booked through toptable.co.uk and got 50% discount. after that we were treated to 70s and 80s disco music and danced the night away. Yea....not my scene. I came here for a friend's birthday gathering, a banker (you know it goes downhill from here). Unfortunately it did have that "bankers-night-out" feel- you wouldn't dare find people of the artsy ilk here. While it's going for the exclusive, chic direction, it ends up feeling generic- it doesn't help being a stone's throw away from Oxford Circus. I was on the 1st floor bar- nice decor and such but nothing to rave over. I passed through downstairs where the pumping 'club'/dancefloor is, and as much as I love to cut a rug, I had no desire to stay and linger. And that's really sad coming from me. If you prefer a place with a dire lack of ambiance then this is the place for you. read more

I came here for company sponsored Halloween drinks last Friday. We had a reserved booth on the bottom floor that features a dance floor. We ended up having plenty of space. Drinks can be a hit or miss. My margarita was awful, the Woo Woo cocktail was quite good though and the Gin Tonic was standard. The music was quite cheesy with mostly 90s songs, but after a few drinks you don't mind that much anymore. ;) read more

If I had a penny for every time I have been to Loop...I'd have thrupence. In all seriousness...I have been to Loop SO many times over the last decade. I think I spent 5 Birthdays there. It used to be that good. Easy for everybody to get to. Easy to get home from late at night. Great crowd. Decent drinks. Downsides were always that you had to queue to get from one floor to the next. It was a bit like Super Mario but with Eastern European bouncers. Other pains were the terrible toilets and the ridiculously long queue for the cloakroom. For a couple of recent years, this all stopped. It was replaced by hundreds of sweaty tourists or on some nights... nobody at all! It really was in decline, and without a doubt a hideous place to spend your hard-earned cash of an evening. However, my friend and co-conspirator of many a Loop fueled night, Mark and I stopped by. The place was heaving with a buzzing crowd, the interior had been given a spruce-up and best of all... an old-school a multicoloured back lit dance floor. I was won back immediately. read more

I was a one point one of the office workers that used to go to this bar / club and whilst I agree it is a fairly mad place, I don't remember seeing anyone stripping out of the suit etc, maybe I was too drunk of the vodka red bulls. I always like this place and has some fun times, it was normally straight after work for a few hours and I didn't ever pay £10 to get in ? - Maybe things have changed here, I am on my way to find out. It does get busy and getting a drink at times can be a bit of a trial. Downstairs is the nightclub bit and the other two bars are just bar area's where you can reserve an area for the evening. I think I read from one of the screens that happy hour (50% off every item incl. food) is every Sunday - Friday between 5-8pm. That is pretty good if you're looking for cheap drinks in a very good central london location, just around the corner from Oxford Circus station. The place has 3 floors. The ground is quite busy and plenty of natural light. The lower ground a bit dank but with more bar staff. A dance floor is the highlight in the basement. The food and drink would be quite pricey if not happy hour, but it's happy hour on everything so who am I to complain. The music is loud and the dance floor can supposedly get packed. Great place for after work drinks in the area. Perhaps nice for lunch on the ground floor, but given the many other places I want to try in Soho, this place doesn't go very high up my list for food. read more

My friends and I used to come here all the time and our university's new student welcome after party was here. Surprisingly, none of us ever had to pay a cover like many people mentioned which is why we came here a lot. They usually just waved us through. We usually stayed in the middle level where it was a bit quieter and we could sit and chat. But we made frequent trips to the lower level to do some dancing. For the £10 cover charge I was expecting at least adequate seating to throw my coat on. Although the place was busy, it was all an after office crowd in suits on the ground floor, and tourists in the lower ground floor. After a sobering 20 minute wait to check in my coat (another £2) I discovered that the sticky floors and slow bar service were not the problem, it was in fact the weird crowd. It seems wrong to see a man straight from his office dance with his tie around a co-workers neck and attempt a Full Monty style stripping of his suit jacket. It was like a preview of all the embarrassing Christmas parties I'll ever attend. On the upside, one of the more senior bartenders made me a fantastic cocktail, a Passionate £5.65. A couple of days ago, I met up withy my other for lunch and we opted to try Loop. I had heard of Loop and only knew of it being a bar. Surprisingly enough it was quite hot, even though it was just a few day till chirstmas and we sat outside, which was really nice, and my mum had a feta cheese salad, which i tried and thought was delicious, and it wasnt too expensive either. Just to add, it was happy hour and if I wasnt with my mum, i would have definitely taken advantage of the cheap booze on offer. I had a burger which came in a thick tasty bun, and had no complaints. Though if i go again, i will be having that healthy feta cheese salad, not becuase its healthy, but because it really was nice. Inside looks really nice too, all modern looking and I think it would be a decent place for a night out. There is enough space for people to dance and plenty of seating, i liked it in here. I went for lunch and it was quite packed full of workers on their lunch break and I am sure it would be full at nights too. read more

This is my convenient after work drinks hangout, and not just because drinks are half price on weeknights between 5pm and 8pm (although that certainly helps). It always seems to be quite busy, especially on a Friday night but there are plenty of staff to keep the drink queues under control. There are 3 floors, each with their own vibe working from a chilled out bar at the top, down to the cheesy disco in the basement. I personally am not the biggest fan of cheesy music, but you have to admit it's a bit of fun. Even more fun is getting a cocktail in a pineapple or melon... novelty wears off eventually of course. They also serve food - great grub to prepare for a night out drinking. The menu includes chunky potato wedges, nachos, sharing platters and burgers at really reasonable prices for this area of London. read more

This place is located two blocks from Oxford Circus. I came twice for group events and every time this place was packed to the brim and it's often hard to move around in. The lower two ground floors are designed for dancing and are equally packed and stuffy. You can find the coat check on the lowest floor - it'll cost you 2 quids per person. When you first walk in, Loop Bar looks like just another bar in the Oxford Circus area - small tables, high stools, lots of people. So it's a bit of a surprise when you descend first one flight of stairs and then another and discover two massive floors ofmore tables, more chairs, and more people. oh, and a lot of bad music. Perhaps I'm being too harsh - the music is all cheese and pop so if you like that sort of thing then you've hit the jackpot, but this place is pretty characterless and really doesn't offer much to reccommend itself. Plus they chrge £2 for every item that you put in the cloakroom, which I think is just plain wrong. read more

It is interesting to note that 'Loop Bar' is an anagram of 'Blar(gh)! Poo.' - a sound, and a process, which, if you've had any of their wine, you'll be very familiar with the next morning. In fact, one time I didn't even need to wait until the next morning. I like Loop though. Yes, the music is mostly awful. Yes, the drinks taste like battery acid. Yes, I cannot think of a third retort. But it's close to the tube! And the nightbus! (to West London) And you can get in for free if you go before a certain time! Then you can stay in the pub type bit upstairs, and as you descend into a state of drunkenness you can also descend the stairs, down into the 'wine bar' bit, where there's music and dancing and love and romancing. If you really want to sink to a new level, head down yet more stairs to the basement for more dancy-type music on the big dancefloor. Watch out for the broken glass! They have a restaurant too. Eating there I imagine would really be the lowest point in a visit to Loop, but here my already-laboured metaphor dies a sad death, because the restaurant is on the same floor as the wine bar. Its all good clean fun. Just make sure you're drunk. read more

TO BE AVOIDED. I went here on Saturday night and it was absolute mayhem - a swarm of hen parties, people being sick in corners, girls tottering on their stupid high heels. And this was only at 9.30pm, I mean what's wrong with these people. In addition some of the bar staff were particularly rude (though door staff and others were nice) and there were SO many security staff bustling about, I've no idea why. Loop Bar is one of my favourite and regular places to go to, if I am looking for somewhere to dance and have good old regular fun. Its not pretentious, door policy and vibe of the club is relax, there are ample of dance space, three floors with two being dance floors, current music played on middle floor, and lower floor playing - and my fave 80s tracks. - I love the fact they have disco theme, with multi light grid floors and large booths. They do happy hour on food and drinks, and they welcome birthdays. read more

On the evening of Saturday 22 February 2014 I attended this venue located on 19 Dering St, London W1S 1AH to celebrate an old friend's 24th birthday. At 2142 my 24-year-old friend decided to take his t-shirt off on the dance floor to boogie on down to his favourite 80s track. He was quickly removed from the venue by three bouncers, which to be honest I found - as he was not proving to be a threat nor inconveniencing any other guests - a little bit over the top. That said I can see the logic behind the decision to remove him from the venue - the rest of us decided to then finish up our drinks and move on. As we left the venue and entered the street we were greeted by two members of the door staff shouting obscenities towards my friend and a couple of ladies in our group who left with him. Being told to "f*ck off" and to "get the f*ck out of here" was completely uncalled for and outright unprofessional. After hearing "f*ck off" for the fourth time I decided to ask for the door members identification numbers as I was going to make a complaint to the bar and the SIA (at this point already). The doormen refused to give me his details which I believe is in breach of his working practice. I then proceeded to take a photograph of the doorman who was proving to be 'a bit big for his boots' for want of a better phrase. Upon photographing him (which was completely legal as he was standing in a public place) he swung a punch at my hand resulting in my mobile phone landing 10-15ft away -- which no doubt was the intention when throwing hist fist. Another doorman then tried to push me away from the venue. I stopped him in his tracks and stated that I did not invite him to touch me and that any further contact would be regarded as assault. He soon stopped. At no point was I, or any of our mixed group confrontational. I asked to speak with the head doorman and manager of the venue. I was refused this opportunity. This matter has now been reported to the police and The Home Office's SIA department after such non-cooperation from the door staff and the licensed SIA member. I believe this member of staff is at fault by: - Refusing to give me his details - Refusing to get a manager - Throwing a punch with the intention of causing personal harm and criminal damage I tried to resolve this issue at the venue with no luck. I strongly advise against visiting this venue, after my personal experience here and a general trend form other reviews that they seem to treat their clientele with utter contempt. read more

A very cool bar! I have been a few times now and have have found it to be one of the best after work bars around. Its probably best to go on a Friday as it's difficult to leave! It attracts the more well heeled type of clientele; possibly due to the prices .... :) It has 3 floors, the upstairs tends get a bit busy and you can never sit down so I prefer the downstairs where it's dimly let and has a more chilled atmosphere. You can generally get a seat/table as well which means no queueing at the bar... lovely! read more

January 06 I was in London on my first international trip, celebrating impending doom (no wait, I meant college graduation) and a Londoner invited me to come here. I was already drunk before I got on the Russel Square stop. I kinda knew which tube stop was for the Loop, but after warndering aimlessly around a few streets, I hopped into the first black taxi and slurred "the loop please." Before I knew it, he had driven beautifully, flawlessly, taking me to my final destination. I don't remember paying any quid to get in, but maybe that's because it was 06. This club/bar have three different types of music's and styles, 2nd floor always seems to have the best music's out of the 1st and ground floor. The drink test like they just mixed it with water it was a waste of money also the queue was aneccesery. The place was half empty but they make people wait for more than 15min in this British weather! This place is a real mix of styles...3 floors, all different. The bottom floor was a 70's-esque dance-floor, accompanied by the cheesy music too. Fun....but I could only enter once I'd had a fair few drinks! Middle section was good...good mix of current music, and a nice mix of people. There is a restaurant area through the back of the middle section, though I did not venture there. The top floor (entry level) is a basic bar, which leads to the smoking section (which is very long and thin, and isn't too sociable). The drinks were fairly priced for central London - I was drinking Caipirinhas all night and paid £7 a drink. Happy Hour was from 6-8pm but we missed it, as it seemed far too early to get there! It was free entry before 10pm, otherwise £8. Overall, a fun night, but The Loop is not on the top of my list to revisit. read more

Loop is just off oxford street, but doesn't have the rip-off method of drinks prices like most other west end waterholes. The bouncers are quite pleasant, and with 3 floors and a restaurant, you can almost pick your chosen vibe. The dancefloor downstairs has intimate booths on either side of the dancefloor, but most importantly a bar on either side of the room, so less chance of a queue when you need to quench your thirst. middle floor is usually where the after work crew assemble, with various high tables, and low tables, we even ordered food the last time we were there, which was lovely. I've also been here for a few club nights, at other than finish at the early time of 3am, we had a good night. Don't leave your drinks resting on the shelf in front of the DJ Booth! The vibration knocks them off! read more
