I came here fir friend's birthday. Despite pre-booking, there was a short wait to get in due to the number of guests inside but the staff managing the line were sociable and kept us informed Lucky Pig is located in the basement and on the occasion I visited, very crowded. There were a few alcoves with seats - happily, one of these was reserved for our party. Otherwise, it's rather crammed The barmen were fast with service though and they kept the line of customers happy. My time here was short n sweet, but in that short amount of time I was really impressed with this venue. First off, it's a bit hard to find since it's underground. I was wandering around confused for a minute before I saw the sign for The Lucky Pig Cocktail Bar. Once I got down the stairs, the vibe of the bar was a bit on the speakeasy side. It's pretty roomy and there are a lot of places to cozy up. I had two rounds of the Dark n Stormy which were superb since I basically like any drink that has ginger beer in it. The men at the bar were very cool and I enjoyed my little interaction with them. But what do I remember most about this night? The music. Let me just say, I loved the man on the guitar. He was incredible... and I don't usually say that about very many musicians. I'm definitely coming back to The Lucky Pig... all the elements fall into place here. A great cocktail bar, somehow simultaneously shabby and opulent. The food is gastro-puby and does a good job at soaking up the booze. The coctails are unusual, but very pleasant, although not inexpensive at £9.00-£9.50 each with beers at £4-5 per bottle. If I didn't have two livers I need to tire out I'd be here a lot. There's a good crowd and a good vibe, if you are in the area and not sure where to go it should definitely be on your list. read more

Lucky Pig has all the hallmarks of a post-WWII gentleman's club. The big buildings up top were blown to smithereens and boys needed a play to play. Conveniently, they were already hiding in the bunker underneath their old stomping ground and someone had wisely brought down a bottle of gin and a barrel of scotch and it just made plain sense to get the party started where they were. The place was decked out in old wood and dark leather (in the rich mahogany sort of way), curtains strategically placed over "doorways", and the girls were called down. Good times. Now I don't have any idea if all that above is true (or really any of it), but that's the back story my overactive imagination came up with as I descended the steps into Lucky Pig. It's a perfect place for a drink, to catch up with friends, or arrange clandestine rendezvous with a special someone...or a spy. We opted for a table in a sunken part of the bunker (I kid you not, this place does feel like an air raid bunker) which was cosy yet perfectly roomy. The heavy walls make for easily heard conversation inside, but even just steps away from the entrance you can barely hear a whisper. Perfect. Drinkswise, they do alright. The old fashioned I started with had a good smoky bourbon and an excellently twisted bit of orange peel. It was a tad on the sweeter end of things but truly not a bad thing. It disappeared in a flash and I quickly moved on to a dark & stormy. Again, a bit on the sweet side but an excellent blend of lemony ginger beer and dark spiced rum. It's pretty to look at and a pleasure to drink. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable enough to recommend a drink based on your tastes. You can even order off menu (which I did in order to get my Sazerac) provided they have the stuff in the bar. I can't comment on food as it was a liquid dinner but I think it's limited to bar snacks by and large. Overall, a nice little find in that no mans land between Oxford Circus and Regents Park (which I actually didn't know existed beforehand). Worth a shot if you are in the area or waiting for your other half to finish shopping down in the chaos that is Oxford Street! read more

Awful place. Money making machine with cocktails that are not good quality or good value for money. £5 for a bottle of beer, and only one band. It's not a bar or cocktail lounge because it's not about talking and socialising. Loud, bad club like music, stinking hot (to make you drink more). No atmosphere. Really inauthentic. read more

Fun in name, fun in nature! It's been so long since I was last impressed by a West End bar that I'd braced myself for a night of overpriced drinks, conversation-stifling music and getting squished up against pretentious strangers. I wasn't completely wrong... Yes the drinks were pricey, but oh so well made. It's all about the cocktails here - I was happy sipping away on the Fleur De Vie of vodka, elderflower and lime all night. Stolen samples of others confirmed that the barmen in braces were indeed doing a grand job. Yes the music is loud, but the DJ made my night with some great old school rnb/hiphop. It's nice that the place isn't that big as he could play off the crowd well and change it up if something was dragging. Yes the place got rammed too, but luckily my mate had reserved an alcove for her birthday - there was something a little naughty about the candlelit caves with curtains across the doorways that are set into the far wall. We somehow squeezed a cosy 12 of us in there to start with for drinkies and chat, but once the DJ picked up everyone was out in the main bar to dance. Useful for a time out and bag drop though. I liked the worn-down prohibition style décor even though it's been done to death elsewhere - this place had some nice extra touches with old school posters and even an old Singer sewing machine that looked like one my grandmother used to own :) I'd advise getting there earlyish in the night to avoid the queue that picks up. Having said that, two of us arrived at an unfashionably early 8.30pm and the doorman made us wait for 5mins anyway despite there being no queue. You know, just because he could. Have bookmarked this place as a fun underground drinking den, that would probably be good for a date too - in fact a friend-of-a-friend actually turned up about 11ish on a first date, thinking that he'd impress the girl with somewhere new and unusual... only to find that his best mate and about 20 guys he knows were all there too. It is really hard to try to book a place for 20 people in London without paying a deposit or commit to some obscene amount of minimum spend. I was lucky enough to lock down Lucky Pig for my birthday party without any deposit. The staff was really helpful during the booking process. They discuss which area they would book for me and when they would bring out the food and drinks etc. So everything went smoothly. The bar itself is in Fitzrovia in a basement. Not the easiest place to find. However, the inside has the cool speakeasy vibe. There are a few couch areas, one of which can be turned into a stage. The night we went, we actually have some local band playing live music. I believe that is a regular thing. There are also a couple of "cave rooms" that can hold about 6-8 people each, where you can have a cosy party with a small group of friend. This place is perfect for a winter night, because it is in the basement and gets absolutely no sun light. However, during the summer months, you probably want to find somewhere with outdoor seatings. The drinkers here are good and the food is tasty as well, especially the freshly made pizza. I had a great time there and will definitely book it for a party or just go hang out in one of the caves. read more

AMAZING!! this place is a gem hidden away in Fitzrovia. My team joined them at a gentleman Jack Event and where blown awAy by the beauty if the venue and brilliance of the people who work there. Went here last night and I'll definitely be returning. It's got a vintage feel to it with antique furniture and shabby walls, it felt like a 1920s speakeasy. But the best bit was the cocktails, they were fantastically made. The bar staff were welcoming and friendly and not at all snooty which can happen in some other cocktail bars. We got there a little late so couldn't get a seat, but the staff were really friendly and actually got a table from somewhere for us (we'd managed to find two chairs ourselves in the end). All in all a little gem of a place. Apparently they do live music some nights too so I'll have to check that out. read more

This place has some nice cocktails etc. but it needs to be a bit better managed. If you're going to serve cocktails that are time consuming, you should probably be set up for table service. On Saturday night there was a huge crush at the bar just to be able to get any sort of drink. More disturbingly, they ran out of olives really early in the night so they could not even make a proper martini, which, to me, seems unacceptable for the kind of place that holds itself out as a cocktail bar. read more

What a nice cosy place for good cocktail after a long day of work...who are we kidding, we were on vacation and came here with a friend after she left work. Place is packed around 7pm and can be very loud. Lots of little rooms/corners for you to hang out, it's kinda cool. Menu was interesting but was hard to read, but that's fine, we were able to find a couple of drinks that we enjoyed and drank a couple of them. Great cocktails for a little more pricier than beer in the area but they are delicious. Coming from NYC, I thought service was slow, not sure if this is a London thing but they had 1 bartender on Friday night during happy hour. Other than longer time to order and get drinks, we enjoyed our time here and their drinks are good and refreshing! read more

Was taken here as a surprise as I really wanted to come here (my 30th) I had seen it on a TV show and looked amazing! It wasn't as good as it looked and found it quite pretentious. You have to book a table and they are all In little booths with uneven floors so not great for heels. I do like this bar, especially their live music nights and really delicious drinks, but the number of times I've been and they've had only one member of staff behind the bar resulting in crazy lengths of time waiting to be served, puts me off visiting regularly. I went here for a grouper date and it was the perfect location! They had these little 'dungeon' type rooms to the side of the dance floor which were perfect for drinks. You could still hear the music and hear what the person sitting across for you was saying without yelling. The cocktails were delicious and a good size. I would come back :) read more

Went down on a Tuesday night after work. Not bad cute charming/shabby interior. Friendly and attentive staff. Cocktail list was more conventional than I expected not many eyebrow-raising options. Came in at about £9 a time which seemed slightly on the high side, given the lack of fireworks. Live musician playing who was really talented but also very loud indeed for some people this could be a minus. Luckily we found a shielded corner, but if I'd wanted to do a lot of talking then this would have been a disappointment. As it's a new place I wouldn't be surprised if they raise their game in due course. Still worth a visit. read more
