MAJOR point deduction for putting on Vanilla Ice, Will Smith ("Get Jiggy With It", no less) and old Michael Jackson crap. That's straight weak sauce. Stumbled upon this place while in Piccadilly Circus. The ambiance is relaxing, but heavily understaffed because we had to wait almost 20 minutes to get our table cleaned and it wasn't even totally cleaned (I had to wipe downs the table with my Dettol wipes). Finally the waiter came and took our order. At least the order came out quickly. Being in London for 10 days has taught me that people are so rude and customer service is not as important as in the USA. I've been coming here since uni days, and it's still as good as it ever was. There's a large comfortable seating area and loads of teles; ideal for football days and oh yeah, the euros!!! Woooo! Can I just say how amazing the happy hour is!!2-4-1 cocktails (everything is included even champagne ones) and 50% off beers and wine. If you like Top 40 radio pop to club to, then this is the place for you. Don't get me wrong, Grace isn't a bad looking club & you'll have a decent time there. The drinks are fine but this is not an amazing club spot. There are two distinct areas to Grace, the Milk Bar and the Cocoa Club. The Cocoa Club is situated right where the dancing and DJ are so beware the noise and mega-crowded dance floor as well as the very high fee to reserve a table. Milk Bar doesn't have a fee to book a table but is away from the 'action'. I haven't eaten upstairs but overall it's a nice & reliable club spot. read more

I'm not really a fan of the West End nightspots, the longer I have lived in London, the more I have gravitated away to places like Clapham. The only exception is Soho but I would classify Grace as tourist London because of its proximity to Shaftesbury Avenue. The beers costs £5 a pint which provides Northerners which plenty of ammo when arguing that their inferior part of England is best. Overall I found Grace a good place for a night out in central London. The upstairs bar isn't that good but downstairs the atmosphere is better with a decent cocktail bar and dance floor. read more

Saturday night. Loud music and bright lights. I was walking around Piccadilly Circus looking for a pub or club. I decided to go to Grace. Cover is 5 pounds but if you go early, have a relatively large group, you might get in sans cover if you're lucky. Upstairs has plenty of tables, you can sit down, relax, grab a few drinks. Downstairs is the fun place. When you walk down the stairs, on your white is a room full of white furniture where you can dance, and on the left is a large dance floor. The music was good. The bartenders were very busy though. Drinks are about 4 pounds for a beer, 6-8pounds for wine. The crowd varies. There were middle aged women walking around with pink feathers, I think they were having a small bachelorette party. There were also younger people in their 20s just having fun. Overall fun club! Its not too crazy, the music is great, and the drinks are ok priced. read more

It's Friday and you want to go for a drink with some friends. You could do a lot worse than Grace, and you could do better. However, it's a perfectly good venue to grab a drink in the evening. The Happy Hour lasts a decent time, and there is seating if you get there early, but it will get crowded. Later on a DJ plays music downstairs and it's free entry if you're there from earlier in the evening. Like I said, it's an option for the evening, not the best option but a decent one. read more

yeh liked this place came here for a 2 course meal for a tenner! I had the tortellini and yeh it was good, fresh tasting. The waiter was quite amiable and helped us get a dessert which wasnt included on our menu. As you walk in it has the appearance of a loud bar which it is so i was slightly apprehensive about dinning in a night club but once we got to the dinning area the music just disappeared. Staff are surprisingly friendly and efficient, the cocktails are well made and not stupidly priced for central London (under £10). Went here for a work drinks do and while I enjoyed myself it was loud..SO stupidly loud. I really dislike that in a bar...it's a place to drink and talk, and conversation between more than two people at a time was impossible. There were lots of big groups and while that wasn't an issue, it would have put me off coming in if I was just with a few friends. They did however a fantastic live act singing in between dj sets which was a classy touch. Overall, a good time was had but damn, my voice is hoarse today. read more

I used to come to this place when it was called Sugareef, ah those were the days. I TRIED to come here a few weeks ago with a few mates as we were on the 'guestlist' (ironically not wanting to risk not getting in) only to be told that we weren't on any list and also that as there were more guys than girls, we couldnt come in. I do understand there are sometimes door policies, and I guess in the cold light of day, I would have understood some rubbish excuse about numbers and couples-only, but my main bone of contention was after being told 'No, you cant come in', it was about 4 seconds before the bouncer then said 'please move away from the front', and 'please can you move down the street', yes because you own that particular part of Great Windmill Street *sigh* Anyway, so instead we went to LVPO which was much better :) read more

Great happy hour of 241 best used for cocktails making it about £4.50 each, but why really impressed me is the space inside with nice decor, some kick ass classic rock and indie music (like seriously great taste!) and a screen to watch the Euros. Perfect secret little find. read more

At one point last night I had 7 pitchers of cocktails in front of me, on a table for 6. Half price pitchers too. Woo - hoo. The newly refurbished Grace Bar is a great location if you find yourself in Piccadilly Circus and you need a cocktail. Granted this situation rarely every happens to me, but when central London work drinks called for it, it was a nice place to be. Love the happy hour half price drinks and platters till 7pm - this is a great deal. The bar is huge now and really nicely furbished, they even have private dining rooms that you can book and the table service was fantastic on a busy Friday night. Food and drinks came swifly and their mini burgers were so tasty. The only I didn't like: disgruntled toilet attendants. Look, I'm not Cheryl Cole or anything, I just hate having to pay to pee. Or paying because someone hands you a paper towel - I'm not the Royal Family, I can wipe my own hands, thanks. I'd definitely recommend it for work parties or Christmas parties. The music is a bit too pop and a bit too much One Direction, but sure that's what you are there for. read more

Grace was an unplanned stop one evening when I wanted to grab a quick drink with friends. It was a Tuesday night so the bar was reasonably empty so we had our pick of the best seats in the house and had very attentive wait staff. It's beautifully decorated with lovely big chandelier style lighting over each of the booths. The drinks list is vast though it would be good to see a few more non-alcoholic cocktail options on the menu. The bar is much bigger than you would imagine at first and there is ample room to fit at least ten people in a booth. The bar is ideally located to tube stations and of course the buzzing theatre district. I will absolutely return to Grace, would be great to see it pumping later in the week, but as it was it was a wonderful location to have a quiet catch up drink or three with friends. read more

Coming inside for a quick lunch, I initially thought this place was closed. Turns out it was just empty. I'm also a sucker for a bar named after moi. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with fries on the side and a beverage. The sandwich and fries were great. The waiter and the guy at the bar made polite chit-chat. They offer a happy hour between 5-8pm, however with these cheap prices and location drives a slightly different crowd...there were 5 hen-dos happening, with the usual out-of-London (essex) mentality. I came here as part of an afterparty, where the area downstairs had been completely booked out, the music mix was odd, but the staff were lovely. It's very... white, it would certainly concern me if I spilt red wine here! The bar seemed fairly basic, but I don't know if that's standard, or if that's just what they had agreed with whom they had organised the evening with, but it was perfectly adequate, very fashion. Dingy, bad cocktails, weird crowd but at least they're playing chart music! I ordered Manhattan and I got something that I imagine a washing up liquid would taste like. The venue is just bad, no ambience, no atmosphere. Music was ok, maybe comparing to everything else it sounded better - just chart music that you can actually dance and sing along to. My friend and I just wanted to dance on a Friday night and so we did.. and so we found ourself circled by the people in the club while we were dancing our hearts away, felt a little like one of those cheesy movies moment - a highlight of the night really! I'm reviewing this as a night out rather than for the food.. I came here for a friends birthday and we had a private room which was small but lovely.. We were given quite a discount on the menu and a free bottle of prosecco. That combined with a long happy hour made this a really reasonable evening out, with some excellent entertainment.. It's a club with food, so do bear this in mind. The food is pricy for the average quality but with the near permanent evening menu discount it was good for what we paid with generous portions.. again we got a 50% discount. The service was excellent and attentive and our room had different options for music. We opted for the main bar next to the restaurant as the dj was playing some seriously good tracks. A real mix of classic floor fillers early on with what I think makes this a good night out, live performers singing over the tracks.. sometimes on the bar.. My younger friends had an absolute blast, whilst we found a booth to boogie alongside, dancing away until the 1 am closure. The staff are lovely throughout the venue with friendly bouncers and waitresses and patient bar staff. A good time was had by all! read more

I have been here a few times now in the early evening, and also a few times when its been busy on a Friday night. Its the kind of place you visit for cheap drinks while their Happy Hour is running. Although their cocktails are not great and just thrown together, you will sometimes get a decant one. I have been told that there is a dance floor here, and although I never seen it myself, my boyfriend says they play chart music. They also serve food, but again, I've never eaten here. Overall, its not a bar to spend your whole night, but for a drink now and then its fine. And it does get busy! read more

This was an excellent pre-paid dinner reservation before the theatre. Great two course selections for about 10 pounds per plate. We came earlier enough for happy hour drinks and got 1/2 price cocktails and a bottle of wine with out meal! I've been to Grace bar 3-4 times with a regular group, it used to be my favourite place, you could chat and drink pleasant cocktails in the milk bar, then get your groove on in the cocoa bar. The last twice I've been the dance floor has been dead, on Saturday 2nd, the DJ was atrocious, the mix was all to shit. We couldn't spend more than a few minutes in there. Restaurant menu lacks a little bit of variety but the food is good value for money. Only drawback, the restaurant is next to the bar so don't go there for a quiet evening diner as the music is very loud. Club and bar offer a variety of cocktails though and are pretty decent. It's hard to find a glass of wine for £3 anywhere in London let alone Central, however this place has the best happy hour - any time before 8pm ALL week there are 241 cocktails and 50% off beer and wine. Bargain right!? The place is big and busy, a little shabby, with cheesy music but the staff are friendly and the choooons actually add to the fun atmosphere (along with the cheap drinks). The cocktail menu actually looks pretty good with plenty of different takes on the classic mojito and moooore. I went to Grace for dinner with some friends after finding a 50% off a set menu deal on Top Table. It was a Monday night so the venue was pretty quiet although there were a couple of other groups in the restaurant. I was shocked by the inattentive service and generally low quality of the food. Grace is trying to position itself as an upscale bar and restaurant and the food definitely did not match - my prawn and avocado salad was seriously lacking in salad or avocado, heavy on the mayonnaise and bright pink canned prawn, and looked like something out of the 70s. The waitstaff didn't bring our drinks until prompted, after they had brought us our starters. The sirloin steak as quite tough and the chips had clearly been heated from frozen. We then had to wait almost 20 min for someone to take notice and bring us our bill after finishing dinner. The restaurant honoured our 50% off deal but annoyingly - especially given the quality of the service - they added a service charge based on the percentage of the undiscounted amount. Thank goodness we were paying half price - £25 for sub-par two courses and a non-alcoholic drink would have been bordering on unreasonable but £15 was just about do-able. The venue is nice enough and there's no denying it's a great location. The cocktail prices weren't too bad either. I could maybe see myself coming back for a drink if I were in the area but would definitely not return for dinner. read more

Great place in the tourist part of London, a bit aside off Shaftesbury Avenue. Quite nice, cosy and quiet during daytime. Might be quite busy at night on the weekends. Our party of four stopped for food after a flight on the London Eye and we're not disappointed. My tip is Crayfish, Wild Rocket, Cucumber & Lemon Crème Fraîche Flatbread which is fresh, plenty for one and might even be shared between two. read more

For a Friday night birthday party I have to say this bar had it all. After booking online for a group of 8, I received a call from a very friendly member of the team offering us a private room and a deal on the menu, plus a free bottle of prosecco for the table. The booking process was easy, and upon arrival at the venue the door staff were cheerful and welcoming, and we were taken to our table quickly. Our room, known as the 'Garden' room was beautifully decorated, had it's own air con/heating unit that we could control, and a selection of sound options: no music, radio, or music from one of the 3 bar areas in the building. The music selection in the main bar was fantastic and interspersed with incredible live covers from the in-house singers and saxophonist. Our orders were taken and arrived with no fuss, as did our cocktails (of which we ordered many while happy hour was still going) and once we had finished we managed to get a both in a corner of the bar so that we could go and enjoy the live music - they put on a fantastic show and our group were very impressed Overall, we felt like VIP's at this venue and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking to take a small group of people on a decent night out. read more

Nice place, however after drinking significant amounts of large spirit mixers I was really peeved to find myself walking out of there stone cold sober. Pretty much everyone in my group of friends found themselves in the same predicament. Now we aren't hardcore drinkers, nor are we lightweights, but having spent just short of £100 on alcohol, one doesn't expect to not be inebriated at all. I booked this venue for a 40th birthday dinner for a large group of friends [16]. Despite numerous email and phone call confirmations, Grace-Bar let me down. I was promised birthday decorations [balloons], nothing was put out at all. In fact I was told by our waiter Daniel that no instructions for this were sent at all by the bookings team. When we arrived, we were also instructed that our table was booked again for another dinner so we had to be quick!! Our food was practically rushed to us with not even a breather between courses. To top it off, an 1hr30 into the dinner, the waiter forced the bill onto us without us even asking [we were still trying to rush through the dessert] and we were told 'I need to clear your table, can you get the group to pay as soon as possible'. After complaining to the manager on duty, he clearly was not prepared to do anything and the standard response was I will speak to the bookings team and let you know. I'm still waiting for a reply! Definitely not the place you want to go if celebrate an occasion/make an impression. Perfect if you want your food thrown at you and then rushed straight out the door! read more

Went here for lunch a couple of weeks and it was an absolutely awful meal. Truly deplorable food that I have never encountered when paying for food. Red, bleeding chicken that could have caused serious damage. Chips that were rock hard and hadn't been cooked properly and fish bones a-plenty. It is like they found somebody random off the street, placed them in some chef's overalls and let them run the kitchen. I will never be going back for food again. read more
