    Rosemary chicken. Way too salty!
    Daniel B.

The appetizer -- a waffle like biscuit draped in honey butter sauce is five stars. It's one of the most impressive appetizers I've yet eaten in la. With that said, I ordered the Rosemary chicken. Vegetables were lightly seasoned, as well as the mash. Reasonably priced for being at the center of the commerce casino. The chicken was drenched in salt. I have absolutely no idea why it turned out like that, but I was with a very important person, so I held back my complaint. I would recommend ordering a side item appetizer or a sandwich and forego their dinner items. Doesn't seem like an entree type of place, but more so of a casual quick bite

Came here for dinner on a Saturday night. Food and service was great. They give you complimentary mini waffles instead of bread. It's served with a honey apple butter sauce that is amazing. I had a burger which I ordered medium. It was a little pinker than I like but still perfect. My daughter had pesto pasta and she liked her entree. Our table also ordered the ice cream brownie dessert. I give it two thumbs up. It's large enough for 4 adults to share. Stop by Commerce Casino for a meal if you're in the area. *the price range on yelp is incorrect. It is $10-$20 for entrees.

Service is lackluster and spotty. Had the rib eye $26. Pretty dry. Had to ask for au jus or something and got pesto sauce. Asked for bread or dinner roll and was offered complimentary mini waffles. Alcohol menu is limited to beers and wine. You could to the bar and get your own but they won't. Ambience is tranquil and peaceful - vintage Xmas music playing in the background. Food tasted ok but longed for a good steak and this was not it. If you're looking for an experience, or even a nice dinner, more than just satiating/quenching your hunger, this is not the place. I support local businesses and hope this place improves their service and responsiveness. For the menu prices, there is plenty of room for improvement.

I had the Short Rib Bourguignon - The meat was so moist it was unbelievable and the eggplant, carrots, and zucchini with the mash potatoes this was a flawless combination.

First time here and I really loved the great service (Dan) and food. Definitely ask for the mini waffles with honey apple butter. The salmon was delicious!

    Room service salad and steak.

Ordered Farmers Salad the lettuce was a bit soft and the dressing tasted off. Steak was good tasting ans the potatoes were delish. 54 bucks for this meal def not worth it for the taste but for the convenience of room service is what we paid for.

Miso salmon and steak and eggs both great choices! So flavorful and decedent

While I've never been to the restaurant side, the catering side is pretty good. The buffet we ordered was steak, shrimp scampi, rosemary potatoes, mashed potatoes, antipasto and cobb salads and zucchini medley. Every one of our 100+ guests raved of the food. The restrooms were in need of a good cleaning, though, it smelled like a gas station restroom, and the paper towels were just on the sink counter instead of the dispenser. The bar area was in need of a remodel and the drinks were pretty expensive ($16.00 for a Don Julio rocks margarita) but tasted oh so good! We only had one waitress handling the sodas, water and tea and I kinda felt bad for her as she seemed overwhelmed, but she never once complained or was rude. She was polite and friendly and kept coming back to the tables that needed drinks. Javier, the banquet manager was just great. He had a wonderful and jovial personality and kept checking on us, the hosts, but more importantly, all of our guests. He stayed for the whole event, even past midnight. Parking was a bit of an issue, not when we arrived, but as the night wore on. There was also a 90th birthday celebration in the next room with about 100 or so people, plus the restaurant guests. So keep that in mind if you have a big party. Getting here was a bit confusing as the roads and freeway on ramps all convene, but if you're patient and paying attention, you should make it no problem. If pictures speak a thousand words, then the smiles on my brother-in-law's face and his guests and the wonderful decorations and food speak volumes of our night here.

Once we were ready she had our table already prepared. We have to order inside first before you can be seated. Once seated our food came out not too long after. Everything looked and tasted delicious! We ordered the chilaquiles verde, short rib omelette, tropical pancakes (seasonal), and the mango curd french toast (seasonal). The chilaquiles verde was savory and tangy. It wasn't soggy at all and definitely one of my favorite dishes. The short rib omelette was savory but didn't give me any wow factor compared to the other dishes I ordered. The tropical pancakes were so pretty. I only tried a piece of it without the syrup which I think was a mistake because the kumquat syrup was my friend's favorite. I definitely need to try it again with the syrup. Best for last, mango curd French toast was my favorite! I fell in love with sweetness and tanginess of the mango curd. The French toast was soft and you can taste the butter. I wish it was a main menu item. I'll definitely be sad to see it go. They have lots of seating inside and outside.

My absolute favorite is the Greek chicken salad--I can't even explain how good it is, it's just that delicious every single time. Recently, my sisters surprised me for my birthday by taking me there, and we had such a great time. It made the experience even more special. Their pastries are also amazing--fresh and so tasty. What really stands out to me is the customer service. We had such a kind and friendly server who took the time to talk with us, which made us feel so welcome. That's the kind of service that keeps you coming back. We ended up staying for almost three hours because that's how comfortable and relaxed we felt at The Marketplace. The standouts were the green beans, the Brussels sprouts that came with the chicken, the pork shank and the tuna and crunchy quinoa salad. I'm still thinking of that crunchy quinoa. We had no room for dessert. So maybe next time we try the goat curry, get the quinoa salad again and get dessert! The service was great too. Attentive but not overbearing. Still stands-up to the hype after all these years…read more If "Trendy" was a restaurant, Bestia would easily be in top contention, even after being around for more than a decade. That says a lot. Once upon a time (a few years ago), my CFP + banking institution wanted to thank me for being one of their top private clients. They expressed their gratitude with a very generous, all expense paid full-course meal at Bestia. To say that I was impressed would be an understatement. Fast forward to now, I knew that coming back here would be a good idea. Make no mistake, even if you try to book a reservation several weeks in-advance, don't be surprised if the only available seats are at the counter. Granted, I was in a spacey table during my past visit, the counter can be an enjoyable & unintentionally entertaining space. It's great for a more casual vibe, as you get to see some of the kitchen workers put together some of their signature dishes. In many ways, Bestia seems like a microcosm of the city that it rather humbly resides within. What always catches me off-guard, is that the surrounding simple area really doesn't reflect the happening, vibrant, night-life that resides within the building's walls. You feel like you're taken so a different, very social, very bustling world. WINE: Podere 72, Poderi San Lazzaro (Marche region, central Italy) - 8.7 / 10 A very robust blend of Montepulciano & Sangiovese grapes that results in a balanced, medium bodied red wine that stands-up to heartiness of a beef ribeye steak. FOOD: Roasted Bone Marrow - 9.4/ 10 I have several friends that go here just for this particular dish. Funny enough, one can almost always tell that one is at Bestia because of the rather peculiar manner in which this dish is served. Hot, melted bone marrow is appropriately scooped out of the bone & poured onto spinach gnocchetti. It's like eating beef flavored mouth pillows of potato + spinach. It's definitely a dish that will impress whoever you are with. I can never resist ordering this whenever I am here. Oxtail alla Vaccinara - 8.9 / 10 The deep, rich maroon color of the rigatoni (thanks to beets) is a sight to behold. The pasta is firm but not too hard. It's a humble yet complex pasta dish that complements any main course. 26oz Margaret River Wagyu Ribeye - 9.4 / 10 Anybody who knows me knows that I love my ribeye. Any decent fancy restaurant does a ribeye. But no one does a ribeye quite like Bestia. The fermented mushroom cream delivers a punch of pungence not unlike a delectable dijon mustard, but to the highest of levels. This dish also makes me a believer in well-cooked onions served alongside steak. I usually like to take a home a portion of ribeye for later, but this is one of the very few instances when the steak is so good, that I can't help but finish it here. Again, the portion is more than enough to be shared. Fromage Blanc Mousse - 9.1 / 10 This seasonal dish hits all the right notes. It's the fanciest of cheesecakes, so I recommend sharing this. With its decadence, a little truly goes a long way & that's perfectly fine. The richness of the cheese is offset perfectly by the right balance of candied kumquats. A great "bite" to end on. Huge shout-out & thanks to Radu for being the nicest & most enthusiastic of servers. It's little things like him being so down to take pics of you with your party that really make me want to come back here. It the owners / management is reading this, please recognize how pivotal he is to your team. If he was working under me, I would most definitely give him a raise. Also, shout-out to Dani at the hostess stand. She is one of the most personable people. For being the first person that patrons see upon entering, she is the perfect face, attitude, & welcoming personality that the hospitality industry is in dire need of. She's a rockstar of a hostess & a pleasure to talk with. Bestia is a better place because of valuable employees like Radu & Dani. As always, come for the food. Come back for the service. I would definitely come back because of how amazing Radu & Dani are. Years after the hype, the vibe is still very much happening at Bestia.
