Funny story to tell how I ran into this restaurant. My partners car broke down about 13min walk away. In order to get out of the heat while we waited for our tow and to get help, we decided to grab a drink and a quick bite. The campechana was delicious! Seafood was fresh and the flavors were on point. Had a perfect spice with lemon and Clamato flavors. I got the mango michilada which also was fresh and perfect for the weather. We were able to have complimentary chips and salsa that come in small cup but that's ok. Considering we were there for a quick stop. The red salsa was pretty hot for me but the green was yummmmmy! I def would consider stopping by to try additional food since they have plenty on the menu. Front counter and staff were all kind and friendly
We stopped by El Taco Buchon on a Tuesday around lunchtime as a party of two, and the place was packed. Ordering at the register was quick and easy, and service at the pickup counter was friendly. Complimentary chips were a nice touch. We tried the two taco combo with Dorados Gobernador, two grilled fish tacos, and two lengua tacos. While the food looked promising, it lacked flavor -- not even a hint of salt -- and the salsas didn't help much either. Everything was just kind of bland. Overall, the experience was fine, but the food didn't live up to expectations. Just mid.
Was in the neighborhood and swung by for a quick bite. Ordered 2 asada tacos and a pastor queso taco and it hit just right. Service was great, was given some chips and salsa while waiting, got to enjoy 3 different salsas. Shown great hospitality. Will be coming back!
The food was good. The carne asada tacos did not disappoint. The pollo fries were good, but I probably get carne asada fries instead. The lemonade was refreshing. I would come back. I wish they had a salsa bar would have been better to add items to your tacos and variety of salsas.
Amazing, friendly and helpful service... clean environment... playing the best jams (music) to be quietly rocking out to... then eating three perfect tacos and washing it down with a beer, I mean, how much better does it get?? I'll be coming back for sure! I ordered all tacos with flour tortilla: Taco Buchon, Vampiro Asada Harina, and grilled shrimp taco. Honestly each of them was so different and so flavorful - its really difficult to pick a favorite!
Been here multiple times and have ordered the carne asada fries, burrito and torta. The food is great and service is excellent! They've been very consistent with both and prices is very fair and affordable. They also gave us some salsa and chips while waiting for our order so that's a plus! Definitely a go to when craving Mexican food! They're located in a plaza shared with Chinese food, Pana's Cafe & Yoshinoya. Parking is good, haven't had any issues.
The variety of menu items is extensive; the speciality tacos are really good , service is remotely fast , the street tacos could have been better .

When I landed in Long Beach I knew I wanted some authentic tacos. After reading some reviews and noticing El Taco Buchon was less than 10 minutes from my hotel I knew j had to stop in. I was immediately greeted and placed my order at the counter. I ordered 2 chicken, 1 carne asada and 1 birria street taco. The food came out fast and was served with radish, cucumber and lemons. A grilled pepper, that I think was a jalapeño also came with the tacos. All of them were full of flavor but I think the carne was my favorite. I loved that I could choose how much of each topping to add to my tacos.
So I live down the street and have never tried this establishment and I gotta say I'm more than satisfied with my meal. I ordered a grilled shrimp burrito and a large pepino and it was under 20 bucks the burrito tasted great shrimp was tasty and veggies were fresh. I'm gonna go back and make sure I try more of the menu.

Should've taken the sign, that it was dead empty on a Saturday evening as a bad omen. Service was 10/10, the cashier was friendly. The food quality was the reason for the 2 star. The asada meat is more fat and cartilage and al pastor meat was okay but I've had better . The tortilla for my taco seemed reheated in the microwave. Quality and price do not match. Would not recommend. read more

I WANTED TO LOVE IT. FRIENDLY SERVICE AND VERY CLEAN ! The food fell very short for me. Kind of what the last review said, the quality wasn't there although the prices are pretty steep. Service/ ambiance: 5/5. The woman and man working there are so kind, and really wanted to help answer all the question I had. I really appreciate that! I also really loved the way it was decorated. It's very cute and gives family yet Moriscos vibes. Pricing: 2/5 2 tacos and 1 tostada was almost 30.00. I did buy an extra sauce ($1.15) But ultimately the pricing here (in my humble opinion) is a bit unfair for what you're getting. Food: 1/5 Ah. I feel so guilty because I wanted to love this place, yet I ended up not even liking it. The marlin tostada was so salty it tased like it was dipped in the ocean. I'm not sure why or If it was a mistake? But I absolutely didn't eat it after 1 bite. The 2 "GOBERNADOR" dorado tacos were the opposite, they were so SWEET. I was not expecting that nor did I want that. I made sure to ask for the dressings on the side just to be sure and ahhh. . . I never in my life had sweet tacos, and I never want any again, lol. The avocado salsa was a 10. It was actually amazing and glad I purchased a side of it. I will def eat it with chips. All in all- I will not be back. However, I want to strongly suggest trying it for yourself. My bf and I had the best Marlin tacos in Mexico ( I seriously salivate thinking about it) and maybe my expectations were just extremely high. I also feel maybe I just should have tried to order something else. I do wish these kind people the best! read more

Always a good experience at this clean restaurant. They serve tasty food and their Aguas frescas are very tasty too! The chips and salsa are a bonus. Taco governador is one of my favorites! It's delicious but can't go wrong with anything on their menu! Their salsas are good too! read more

So I live down the street and have never tried this establishment and I gotta say I'm more than satisfied with my meal. This was my first trying this place. Everyone looked really good online. The tacos were good but a little greasy. I had been somewhat clean eating and it kind of messed up my stomach sadly. But nevertheless it was tasty. They sell beer there, the staff was cool. I'd go back to try other items on the menu for sure. read more
This is definitely a hidden gem :) My friend recommend we go here for lunch. The food was on pointtt!!! Parking: There is a large parking lot in front of the restaurant. But, I can get busy during lunch time. Quality of Food: There were so many options. I ordered a birria taco and two street tacos (asada and al pastor). They were all so delicious. My friend ordered the shrimp tostada and birria tacos. Her go-to order is the birria tacos and the shrimp tostada. The food was fresh and very quick. If you're in the area I would make a stop here :) You won't be disappointed. read more

We ordered Tostada Buchon, Carne Asada Taco, Birria Quesadilla, Carne Asada and Pollo Burritos. I must say that everything we ordered was bursting with so much flavor. What's great about this place, too, is the generous serving for an affordable price. It's one of the best Mexican food we've had. The staff were all friendly. It has an A health rating. It's no wonder why people come here for lunch all the time! During peak hours there's almost always a nice line of locals and workers on their lunch breaks. Food ordering is easy whether you did it there OR you can call ahead and pick it up (I've done both). The wait is never too long for the food as you are likely to get everything within 10-15 minutes at most. --FOOD-- - Carne Asada Fries - delicious when you get them right then and eat them right there -- (if you do take out, I must admit, they're not as good as fresh and they actually put the guac and salsa separate so it doesn't make your food soggy but it causes the flavors to not mix well by the time you eat them later) - Carne Asada Burrito - can't go wrong with carne asada and this is prob what you'd expect - Taco de tripas - tripas were over fried and dry :( - Taco Gobernador - I had higher expectations for this one but it was slabbed on with some creamy chipotle like salsa and it was just ok Aguas Frescas - SO DELICIOUS - but it's the sugar hahah, but my favorite is the Pepino - super refreshing and so worth getting the LARGE one to share or to keep drinking after your meal. They have usually 3 varieties or flavors to choose from. --SEATING-- - Outdoors you get 3-4 tables - it's covered patio for the most part but it can get hot in the summers sitting outside - Indoors - a good number of small tables for individual eating experience or easily put them together for a group experience RESTROOMS - on site, 2 separate ones. --PARKING-- A free shared lot with other establishments in the strip mall-like area read more

Over the weekend, my partner and I were shopping at Citadel Outlets and decided to check out this spot for some lunch! Roy was the dude that helped us order and I got the Shrimp Burrito and she got the tacos. The food took about 10 minutes to prepare and seating was easy to find. The restroom was very clean as well! Onto the food, the Shrimp Burrito was excellent and the green sauce and red sauce he gave us went well with the burrito! Overall, an excellent dining experience and will go back for more Mexican food in the future! read more
I had the grilled shrimp burrito. You can never go wrong with shrimp. They grilled that really good, had the char taste. I love the cucumber drink it taste like watermelon. So refreshing I ask for a refill for $1.50 only, for a medium size. I believe the large size would be two dollars per refill. They also give 15% military discount. Aesthetically pleasing! Indoor and outdoor dining. Service is great, staff is friendly. Food is great, especially the chips and salsa! The vibe is good for solo eating, family and friends gatherings, and also date nights. Buckets of beer are sold if you're looking to quench your thirst. Came here yesterday for lunch. The young lady at the cash register was very pleasant and helpful. Asked her a few questions and she was knowledgeable with the food. I had the Burrita Buchon and my wife had Aguachiles de Camaron. My food was deelish, the pork and marinade were flavorful with just a minor kick. The Mayo was a surprisingly good addition. The taste comes and goes with each bite. I kinda would like to see how it pair with crema and guac. My wife said her food was flavorful but was thrown off by how raw the shrimp were. I'd come back for the Burrita my wife would want to try the ceviche next time. We also had the lemonade with chia seeds.... Very good! We got there at 11:30 and it was a little busy but at noon it was mad crazy. read more

So much choices but got some nachos con al pastor, vampiro tacos de tripas, gobernadors with Shrimp and ceviche tostadas. Their hot sauce is soOo good. Vampiro de tripas. My goodness crispy tripas are so delicious.....i could eat 10 of these large tacos. Def be back just for that. Great selections....need to try their street tacos, del mar style tacos.....Only tried few things but def be back. read more
Awesome takeout tacos during this lousy pandemic (COVID-19)... I knew I chose the right place for dinner as I approached the door because so many Mexican foods were wafting in the air! I really loved the Taco Dorado Gobernador. I ordered the double ($10.50 through the GrubHub app - it's cheaper sold at the counter). I love the deep-fried crisp of the corn tortilla shell drizzled with ranchero dressing, but just as much is my love for all the goodness layered inside... mozzarella cheese, wonderfully flavored grilled shrimp, and a good amount of shredded cabbage mix. I also tried a lone Buchon Taco ($4.70). If I didn't have los tacos dorados gobernadors, then this would have been great on its own. It's also a good portion - bigger than most street-style tacos found in L.A., but I would definitely go with AT LEAST one more to fill you up! Maybe even a torta which they offer, but I didn't try this time (12/19/20). The salsa bar is closed, folks. But if you ask nicely, they will give you extras of whatever they already put in your takeout order. The nice young man behind the counter did so for me. How ecstatic I was! They gave me salsa roja (heavy on the tomato & not that spicy), a chipotle salsa (that normally I don't care for, but this one is good & spicy!), and a delicious guacasalsa which had a minor kick to it. Service is friendly. Orders come out reasonably fast. These tacos are true love, Commerce/East L.A. Please don't change. read more

A couple years later, and this place is still as delicious as ever. The prices of soft tacos are now 3.50 or so, but it's not bad considering inflation of costs. A large drink is $5, and quesobirria is $5 and comes with a side of consumme. If I lived closer, I'd be a regular every week read more
