Should've taken the sign, that it was dead empty on a Saturday evening as a bad omen. Service was 10/10, the cashier was friendly. The food quality was the reason for the 2 star. The asada meat is more fat and cartilage and al pastor meat was okay but I've had better . The tortilla for my taco seemed reheated in the microwave. Quality and price do not match. Service/ ambiance: 5/5. The woman and man working there are so kind, and really wanted to help answer all the question I had. I really appreciate that! I also really loved the way it was decorated. It's very cute and gives family yet Moriscos vibes. Pricing: 2/5 2 tacos and 1 tostada was almost 30.00. I did buy an extra sauce ($1.15) But ultimately the pricing here (in my humble opinion) is a bit unfair for what you're getting. Food: 1/5 Ah. I feel so guilty because I wanted to love this place, yet I ended up not even liking it. The marlin tostada was so salty it tased like it was dipped in the ocean. I was not expecting that nor did I want that. I made sure to ask for the dressings on the side just to be sure and ahhh. . . I never in my life had sweet tacos, and I never want any again, lol. Funny story to tell how I ran into this restaurant. My partners car broke down about 13min walk away. In order to get out of the heat while we waited for our tow and to get help, we decided to grab a drink and a quick bite. The campechana was delicious! Seafood was fresh and the flavors were on point. Had a perfect spice with lemon and Clamato flavors. I got the mango michilada which also was fresh and perfect for the weather. We were able to have complimentary chips and salsa that come in small cup but that's ok. Considering we were there for a quick stop. The red salsa was pretty hot for me but the green was yummmmmy! They've been very consistent with both and prices is very fair and affordable. They also gave us some salsa and chips while waiting for our order so that's a plus! One and done! We came in for lunch to go. Our 1st (and last) time there. We ordered a couple of burritos, 7 tacos and a tostada, totalling about $80. We 35-40 minutes for our togo order but it didn't appear to be crowded. Once home, took 2-3 bites of the carne asada burrito before tasting any carne asada, and there was VERY little carne asada... like sprinkles of it, lol. I ordered no rice, so it was basically a bean burrito. I can only imagine if it had rice how much of the burrito would be rice. I also asked for extra onions and cilantro and they couldn't even get that right. This practically meatless bean burrito was not worth $12+ bucks. I also ordered a shrimp burrito with easy rice. Well, it had a little more shrimp than the carne asada. But again a few bites before tasting a shrimp. Tons of cabbage and rice though, lol. Lots of fillers. And the flavor wasn't very good either. I had a really great experience here on a Tuesday afternoon. There is ample parking available as the restaurant shares a lot with other businesses. I ordered some fried fish tacos for dine in at the recommendation of the cashier. The staff were all really friendly and working hard to keep the place stocked and cleaned. They have a good sized menu with tasty looking drinks that I would like to go back and try. The tacos were delicious! The salsa tasted like fresh tomatillos. When I landed in Long Beach I knew I wanted some authentic tacos. After reading some reviews and noticing El Taco Buchon was less than 10 minutes from my hotel I knew j had to stop in. I was immediately greeted and placed my order at the counter. I ordered 2 chicken, 1 carne asada and 1 birria street taco. The food came out fast and was served with radish, cucumber and lemons. A grilled pepper, that I think was a jalapeño also came with the tacos. All of them were full of flavor but I think the carne was my favorite. I had the Burrita Buchon and my wife had Aguachiles de Camaron. My food was deelish, the pork and marinade were flavorful with just a minor kick. The Mayo was a surprisingly good addition. Great food. Carne asada meat is tender with no fat unlike other taco chains like Tacos El Jefe, Tacos Mexico or Tacos Los Desveladdos. This place is far better served and portions are generous. Very friendly staff. This is now my favorite taco restaurant. Since I discovered this place I've been here 5 times in 2 weeks. This means a lot since I am extremely picky where I eat basing my experience with the type service I receive and the quality of food. Awesome takeout tacos during this lousy pandemic (COVID-19)... I knew I chose the right place for dinner as I approached the door because so many Mexican foods were wafting in the air! I really loved the Taco Dorado Gobernador. I ordered the double ($10.50 through the GrubHub app - it's cheaper sold at the counter). I love the deep-fried crisp of the corn tortilla shell drizzled with ranchero dressing, but just as much is my love for all the goodness layered inside... mozzarella cheese, wonderfully flavored grilled shrimp, and a good amount of shredded cabbage mix. I also tried a lone Buchon Taco ($4.70). If I didn't have los tacos dorados gobernadors, then this would have been great on its own. It's also a good portion - bigger than most street-style tacos found in L.A., but I would definitely go with AT LEAST one more to fill you up! Maybe even a torta which they offer, but I didn't try this time (12/19/20). The salsa bar is closed, folks. But if you ask nicely, they will give you extras of whatever they already put in your takeout order. The nice young man behind the counter did so for me. How ecstatic I was! They gave me salsa roja (heavy on the tomato & not that spicy), a chipotle salsa (that normally I don't care for, but this one is good & spicy!), and a delicious guacasalsa which had a minor kick to it.
