It wouldnt shift from 1st to 2nd until about 20-22 mph. And then it wouldnt shift from 2nd to 3rd until about 35 mph. I told the place who rebuilt it that for the 30 years I owned the truck, and after a rebuilt transmission in 2000, it shifted from 1st to 2nd at about 15 mph, and 2nd to 3rd about 28mph. The said it shifted like it was supposed to. I took my truck to this place and James, who took it for a test drive, noticed that there was no downshift either! Anyway, after he adjust the detent cable and we drove it, I could tell immediately that it was back where it should have been!! I drove it and my truck was back!! If I ever need something done to my vehicles, I am taking it to these folks! They went above and beyond as far as I am concerned!!

The car began to lose power even as the engine revved higher. I just was barely able to limp home at 20 mph . After discovering the leak, and fixing it, I added trans fluid to the fill line and the car seemed to drive normally. However, I couldn't be sure whether damage had occurred to the transmission. I called several transmission repair facilities and picked AC Transmissions on Federal Blvd. I spoke with Chris S., one of the shop owners. He was an excellent source of information and courtesy. The AC shop provided an inspection of the transmission free of charge, then told me that they found no damage and that the car's transmission was fine. There was absolutely no charge. Based on my interaction with AC Transmissions, I believe them to be honest and fair. As I understand it, two of the repair technicians have each at least 35 years of experience repairing transmissions. Thank you, AC Transmissions ! I would recommend these guys any day of the year.
