I come here breakfast, dinner, and happy hour. For each, I'm always happy with the food I get and the overall experience. I'm really big into breakfast, but always have a difficult time deciding what to get because I like so many different items on their breakfast menu. The killer banana waffles are very good, but may be too sweet for some. I always enjoy their eggs Benedict and find them better than other breakfast places. Their French toast is also a great choice. Pretty much can't go wrong with their breakfast choices. I've gone to both happy hours before and after their dinner rush. I love the sliders since it comes with two and fries (basically a meal). The riblets are also a favorite of mine. For the desserts I've had the cheesecake, chocolate cake, and banana cream pie. The cheesecake was good, but nothing special. The chocolate cake was good, as was the deconstructed banana cream pie. Overall I really enjoy this restaurant. It's always busy and in the summer the patio is lovely. read more

We had dined at 3 squares restaurant for many years. Recently, we noticed an unapproved employee wellness charge on our credit card account after dining in the restaurant. We've always had consistently good service at 3 Squares and greal meals. We love the outdoor patio in good weather! Can be a bit noisy inside when it's busy but not terrible. Love it for meeting with friends after church on Sunday. Good to make a reservation ahead though. read more

My last review for this place was 2016 and we've been here a few times since then. I feel like adding a star to my previous review because this place is better than "Meh" but worse than "Yay!". It really is A-Ok. I feel like the key to this place is knowing what is typically good on the menu and what typically isn't. Picking your meal here is kind of like playing a food version of Russian Roulette. My fiance and I both really like the cheese curds as an appetizer. They are legit, deep-fried, stringy goodness. Not like the little turds with crumbly breading on it that you pop in the oven. And the apricot chipotle jam you get with them is smokey, sweet, and very slightly spicy. We love it (there's never enough sauce). My go to meal is the fish and chips and it's never let me down. I believe it's four big, thick, deep fried fillets in a basket of french fries. I requested sweet potato fries recently instead of the regular fries and it was over $2.00 for that substitution (oofta!). The sweet potato fries look freshly cut, lightly salted, and are pretty tasty (if not a little bit floppy...). I've also tried the fish tacos, and they are pretty good, but also highly seasoned. I recall it being almost too much for my palate (and I love flavor). My fiance tried the chicken and waffles last time, and I remember it being kind of weird. I'm sure some people love it but I've seen others comment that it's just... weird. He likened the looks of it as "vomit on waffles", which is odd because he would typically do back flips for sausage gravy. More recently though, my fiance tried the steak & pierogies and he thought it tasted pretty good! The steak was unevenly cooked (this isn't really a "steak place") but the flavor was spot on. He loved the pan sauce (or whatever sauce was already on the steak) and he didn't even need the provided horseradish. Also, the bar was pretty freaking lively around 4 PM - 6 PM for happy hour on Saturday. I had a couple of $6 "specialty cocktails" that were pretty tasty and our cheesecurds were also on the HH menu... you know... in case you want to try them. :) read more

I've only been here twice. Once for dinner with the family on the weekend when it was bustling and once for breakfast on a weekday when it was quiet. Good staff, nice change for suburbia, good drinks and food. Came here to meet up with some friends who all find this to be centrally located. Kind of an interesting venue with the open all day idea, but still catering to the late night crowd with a full bar. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We came without reservations and needed a table for 7 on a busy Saturday night(7pm). We waited about a half hour and were asked if a table for 6 would do, with one extra squeezing in. It wasn't too tight, so we made due. Drinks were kind of expensive for a place like this, $5 for most beers, and $8.50 for any specialty alcoholic drinks. Food was similar, not overly expensive but not cheap either. The fish tacos looked awesome, which two of my friends ended up getting. My only real complaint is probably that the desert menu was quite poor. Nothing on it sounded very interesting or enticing. I was really looking forward to a nice desert as well, but no luck here. Stopped in here for lunch on Sunday. It was extremely hard to walk right by The Claddagh and not have lunch there but I'm so glad we did. We were seated right away and they even had the Vikes game on which was excellent because I'm usually stuck to my couch for the game on Sunday! Our server asked if we'd been there before (which I hate for some reason) but this time I answered honestly and said no we haven't. She made a couple recommendations, took our drink orders and let us have some time to look. All the breakfasts sounded so good, I'll be back here to try it sometime soon! I ordered what they call a Walleye burrito ( it's really just a wrap ) but holy cow was it ever good. My partner in crime for the day had the fish & Chips and it was excellent. I have no idea what their magical seasonings are that is in the breading but I'm pretty sure it would make carp good! The flavor just explodes! Kids meal was a decent price and well presented, but the cheeseburger was 10% beef and 90% bun. When your 11 year old complains that there is too much bun, there is too much bun. In the end, she did not eat more than half of anything on her plate despite not being a picky eater. As for me, I ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken. For $16.99 I was expecting glorious fried chicken, not a chicken strip dinner. For $10 less you could eat at Cane's and had much better chicken strips in half the time. read more

First and last trip to 3 squares. Ordered the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. They ran out of potatoes. Instead of asking me if I would like a different meal they bring me a plate with only meatloaf. Served same time with my family's food. The server didn't remove dishes as she went. Appetizer plates and empty glasses remained on the table through dinner. I've been to 3 squares many times. I first went there before I was vegan, and the food is good! They have a great breakfast menu as well as dinner menu, however after becoming vegan I could no longer come here. I've spoken to wait staff and management about adding vegan options and they said they are working on it, but have yet to add anything substantial. They have some vegetarian options, but that's it. When you do a search for vegan breakfast options on yelp, they always pop up, but they don't have any. If you are vegan it's not worth going here. If management reads this. The drinks were reasonably priced and well-made. I got an alcoholic hot chocolate and that was pretty good in itself as well. The environment was very laid back too! Described in one word: Comfortable Food: Their chicken soup was so delicious! I felt like it was really an authentic tasting home-made soup. It was pretty filled with stuff too, not like 80% soup, 20% noodle/chicken. The hash browns were pretty well crisped (I asked for extra crispy) and not swimming in oil like a lot of other places were. Their wings were pretty tasting and pretty big too but they didn't have a house hot sauce like Buffalo or anything, most of their hot sauces were third party but they did have a good selection or 3 or so. My family and I were out shopping on Black Friday and decided to go to 3 Squares Restaurant. I used Yelp to put our name on the waiting list. When we arrived we were seated promptly. We then were greeted by Maddie our server. She provided us our drinks and then we placed our lunch orders. I chose the veggie burger and was very pleased with my choice. I went here yesterday. I like the restaurant overall. Food was good for the price. My friend order the poutine. It kind of just tasted like chili cheese fries. I had poutine before at other places and this one was totally different. Still good but definitely not legit poutine. My boyfriend had chicken and waffle. I really like the chicken and the gravy part but the waffle was a bit sweet and soft. I had the Mac n' cheese added ham and tomato. It was good! Perfectly al dente noodles. Had bread crumbs on top to give it a little extra texture. My friend got some pesto pasta added chicken. It was amazing. I had a lot of pesto pasta and this one I would actually have again. It was flavorful and delicious. Don't know what else I can say lol. My moms salmon was fantastic tho. Was perfectly cooked. And had this nice honey aroma to it. With this gravy on top by far the best dish I tasted during my visit. More on the pricier side but definitely would get it again! Sometimes, when you try new things, you love them. Sometimes you don't. The breakfast bowl, though a healthier option to other things, is not visually appetizing at all, and the poached egg was "hard," but still had snot for the egg white. Now, if I didn't know better, I'd shrug it off. But I know better! One of my biggest breakfast peeves is when my poached egg is ruined. Very disappointing, especially for the price. I could've opened a can of black beans, corn, cut up an avocado and onion myself. Also, they need heavy cream or half & half for coffee. Regular milk doesn't cut through strong coffee. Well came here with some friends. It is a nicely laid out restaurant. It has a crowd so expect a wait. Finally made it the bar. The staff were nice and attentive. I really really want to like this restaurant, as the food is definitely above average. We've just had bad experiences with service. Twice now we've been to the restaurant (once for weekend brunch, another time for weeknight dinner) and had to wait 1 HOUR+ for our food. Nothing complicated either. Just items straight off the menu. No special subs or instructions. We watched while other tables of the same party size were seated after we had our drink orders at the table and food orders placed, then have THEIR food served, finish, and and leave - all before we've been served. I mean, WUT. The thing that sucks is that we have our kids with and when it's more than 30 minutes to get your food, things teeter off kilter rather quickly. They're hungry. We up and left the last time after waiting well over a hour with no food in sight and no ETA, attempted to pay for our drink order so we could quickly leave and get our kids dinner, and apparently they waived the check. I had ordered the "breakfast burrito" is what I assumed it was since I don't recall the name exactly and my friend had ordered the Classic Eggs Benedict and a additional order of French Toast Banana Killer (the original is with waffles). The burrito was packed full and you definitely needed a fork and knife to fight through it! The burrito consists of black beans, eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns and sour cream on top! Even for myself this was a lot of food, but I managed to finish it eventually. My friend loved her classic eggs Benedict since it came out the way it should be! She had the egg yolk oozing over the ham and hash browns and enjoyed every last bite of it!
