The spices melded together perfectly to create a rich, hearty flavour. It reminded me of dal makhani (Indian cuisine) more than Middle Eastern style lentil soup. Service was quick. The staff were not overly friendly, but were totally unpretentious. The cafe was cozy and the restroom was clean. The quiche was filled with sliced ham which is different than most places that would use ham bits. The quiche was extra fluffy, almost omelet-like, with guyere cheese and was absolutely delicious. The crust was definitely homemade from the adjacent storefront and absolutely perfect. The only disappointment was that the quiche did not come with any side, be it a small salad or even one of their cookies. Split Milk is a wonderful neighborhood find.
