I paid a lot of money for their ugly curtains. It looked good in the pictures they showed but when installed, the guy tore up my walls and he left like nothing happened. The plastic pieces that hold up the curtains started to wear out and fall down. I called them for repair/service and they said they do not repair and want to come out and make me buy a new curtain from them. I wont be using them again. read more

The products cannot not be cleaned - they don't clean the products, nor suggest who can clean the products, nor suggest reputable 3rd parties who could clean them (for smoke damage). Customer service is inexistent. I have all the paperwork from my purchase order. It was not easy to put in the order for service and then waited weeks to get a phone call from a person who you can barely understand his phone number when he rushes through his message to call back ... Finally when I got to Michael he put me on hold twice for 4 minutes ... never came back to me! Finally I have a service date to repair my blind 2 years old after 6 weeks ... in the dark. They do invest a lot in advertising, but very poor customer service. read more

Now entering 3 months of hassle for "3 day" blinds in Chicago. They installed 4 blinds side by side, each with a different sized gap in between them. Windows aren't fully covered by the blinds so street lights keep us awake at night. They didn't level the blinds, so they are crooked and touch each other when fully down. They said that installation doesn't include leveling of the blinds!? They also didn't bother setting up the tech to automate them, even though that was the sole reason we replaced our old blinds. When the blinds are fully down, rust is revealed on every roller. They must have been very old or stored wet. Been fighting for months to get them to pay attention, but they already have my money so it's not happening. UPDATE: The salesperson came and looked at the blinds and so did the installer. They both agree they need remade, hopefully with blinds that aren't rusty. It is clear that the manager Jon has no intention of actually fixing these blinds. After moving into a new house with large windows and poor window treatments, blinds were at the top of my list. I was very impressed with 3 day blinds at first- Pauline was my design consultant and she was great. She helped us choose the fabric and had great suggestions. I had never looked at window treatments before so her guidance was very much appreciated! Originally we thought we'd get them in a week or so, but when she put it in the system she said it would actually be 2 weeks due to back ordered fabric. Given it was an expensive purchase I didn't want to change it for the sake of a week, so we decided to proceed knowing it would be longer. Finally after a month of waiting, the blinds were finally ready for install. We ordered them on November 13th and they were installed December 18th so it was a long month of waiting and much longer than the two weeks. 2/3 blinds were installed with no problem but the motor on the 3rd blind (bedroom) was broken. The installer said he'd put in for a new motor and he'd be back the following week. Given it was the holidays I understand there are delays but the following week I got a call saying they had to replace the whole blind not just the motor. They said the factory would then be closed until January 4th but it would be made first thing on the 4th and then shipped out. In the midst of all this on December 26th the blind they installed in the bedroom tore and broke and now our bedroom was completely exposed. Given it was the holidays they were slow to respond but we couldn't sleep in our bedroom for two weeks. They did send someone out on January 7th to retack up the blind and it's now nailed to the wall in some sort of way. Atleast we can sleep in our bedroom again. The window is pretty much the whole wall so a wall covering is very much necessary. At this point there was still no word on our remake that was promised to ship Jan 4th when the factory re-opened. Now I get a further email that the blind is back ordered. At this point I just want a refund and am so sick of dealing with this. In reading other reviews it sounds like others have had issues with broken blinds- It's been incredibly frustrating! Company has had two come out over three times for issues which are still unresolved. Ordered blinds for the living room and 2 bedrooms totaling over 8k. They got the blinds in the living room right the first time. However the bedrooms were a nightmare. First, they installed the master bedroom backwards so I wasn't even able to access the door. And in the second bedroom the blinds were installed so they were completely wrinkled. After working with customer service for over a month, they sent out the replacement for the second bedroom. Problem fixed. However the master bedroom hardware was back ordered and took another month to manufacture. After 2 months of working with customer service, they sent out the master bedroom hardware do it opened the right way. However, the installer completely wrinkled up the blinds during installation. And a week later the hardware fell off on one side. After contacting customer service again, they sent someone to fix the hardware so it was secured properly. However they wanted to place another order to replace the wrinkled blinds. I was so tried of taking time off work for them to come fix these blinds that I said that it was ok. I am just going to live with the wrinkled blinds as I don't want to deal with the terrible installers EddieZ's uses. read more

It was a complete nightmare dealing with this company. I spent several hours with a salesperson selecting blinds for 2 bedrooms in the lower level of my home. I showed examples of blinds already installed in my home as I wanted to duplicate the look. I repeated several times that I do not care for valances. She recommended the waterfall blinds. The order was placed on APRIL 14. 3 Day Blinds outsource installation. It took the local company 3 attempts to install the blinds. My first appointment was cancelled due to the installer getting into a car accident. On attempt #2 the installer showed up without my order! The blinds were finally installed on MAY 3 and guess what???? They had VALANCES!!! I asked the installer to remove the blinds while I called Customer Service to deal with the issue. I was convinced by the customer service rep to leave the blinds installed and they will quickly correct the problem. This was a BIG MISTAKE!!! First they tried to gaslight me by saying that the blinds had flaps not valances. Then they said my order was a "special order" that had to be approved by the management team. The salesperson never mentioned this. After trying to work with customer service for weeks to correct the problem and finally asking for a refund which they refused, I finally had to contact my credit card company to reverse out the charge. This got their attention. The correct blinds were finally installed on OCTOBER 3!!! I totally regret using 3 Day Blinds as a company is only as good as its customer service. A sales rep came to my home twice because I very much wanted motorized vertical blinds for my 2nd story windows. I placed an order with her for all my window treatments, almost $5,000. Imagine my surprise when my window treatments were installed except for my vertical blinds. After emailing the sales rep & calling Eddie Z's twice, I finally got a hold of a young lady from Eddie Z's who told me my vertical blinds were cancelled. I was in shock. How can a company as large as Eddie Z's not inform a customer of what is happening with their order? How can the person who sold me my window treatments not keep me informed? I still would like to know when did Eddie Z's hear about the cancellation of the blinds? Why was I not informed then before the rest of the window treatments were installed? I think you can tell I'm very disappointed, not only with Eddie Z's but with the sales rep also. As far as recommending you or Eddie Z's, no way. Sorry, this was all handled very badly. read more

After posting a Yelp review about issues with my new shades, I had a happy outcome. First I got a phone call from head quarters in San Diego. Soon after I was called by the area manager, named Dave. He actually came to my home and saw the issues. The shades were extremely hard to open and the paint was peeling off of the chains each time it went up and down. Plus the shades in the master were not keeping out the sun. Dave was easy going and made good on all of the issues. He even sent out a new decorator and upgraded the bedroom shades at no charge. I was happy with the customer service and care that I received from Eddie Z's. read more

I would recommend you DO NOT ORDER anything from Eddie Z's. From initial sales consultation, to installation to customer service (or lack thereof), they continues to be a complete nightmare. I placed an order in June 2019, it is now Mid-September and I still do not have anything on my windows. Mistakes happen (in this case the sales consultant placed the order wrong), but unfortunately I cannot get anyone to call be back when they say they will. I have made several attempts and have been told several times over 3 months that someone will call me back, and I am still at a loss with this company. It is extremely frustrating and a very poor customer experience. There are several other companies I would recommend you order from, who don't string you along like Eddie Z's is doing to me. Also, note when you sign a contract with them, it's their practice not to refund any money from the order they incorrectly placed. Eddie Z's takes it upon themselves to reorder without asking or telling you they are doing so. Also, for many custom orders it is a 8-10 weeks wait, and if they get it wrong the first time, it is another 8-10 weeks wait (2 weeks production and 8 weeks for Shipping on a boat from China). terrible customer service no follow-ups extremely rude and not accountable for anything read more

Purchased our blinds in 2017 for our new place. Spent over 11-12k on them and they have been nothing but trouble! Had to have a service person out in late 2018 or early 2019 to fix 2 separate blinds that had the chords stuck/off-track. Since then it has only gotten worse. Now, in Aug. 2020, two other blinds are again inoperable due to chord issues! Also a third blind, the one in our kitchen has a chord about to unravel & break apart. This is indeed NOT at all what I anticipated purchasing 'high-end', 'high-quality' blinds. I feel we were truly 'taken' and are now stuck with deteriorating, completely inferior merchandise. This review is mostly about our in home consultation we got recently. These guys charge a lot of money without making sure you know what is the end product you will be getting. We wanted black out, thick drapery and the person who came in didn't bring any end product curtain so that we know how it will actually look like. She just had some materials but without the liner you cant know whether you will like the curtain in the end. Then she gave us a few options for the curtain set up but when we asked to see the pictures of how it looks like in practice she couldnt find any. They are just trying to sell us something on an abstract level, which costs a fortune plus takes 8-10 weeks?? This was just one room. On top of this, the person was almost 1.5 hrs late (they scheduled us for 9am over the phone and later said it is 9-10 window but she was here at abt 10:30am). AND she came in sick, with some sort od cold, which was very unprofessional. read more

Everything started off well, but when the day for the blind install came, 2 of the 5 blinds didn't fit. After waiting another 2 weeks for the replacements we found out that those were the same size as the first 2. They are so overpriced and try to rip off old people. One of the workers at sedgbrook assisted living recommended them to me when we moved my mom in! They were so expensive and made up fees like administrative and high rise fee. The place had two floors!! I found out from another employee that there were no such fees . I've had a bit of a mixed experience w/these guys. Called up to schedule an appointment and the lady on the phone was nice enough, got an appointment within a few days. Salesperson showed up and wasn't a whole lot of help in picking things out. As a single guy who just wants something done easily, he wasn't much help. I asked what he would recommend for my room and he recommended that I pick whatever I like. OK. Not too helpful. The pricing I got wasn't broken down by line items, just a lump cost per blind. Seemed a little shady to price things this way as I have no idea what is really "included for free" vs an upgrade charge. They had a buy 2 blinds get 1 free thing going on and the price was inline with others. I was told about 6 weeks for the blinds to be made and delivered. I received a few calls from them throughout the process notifying me of the status, which was nice rather than just not hearing anything for a month and a half. I got a message to schedule an install date and was able to get one within a few days. The installer wasn't very friendly and really only spoke some eastern European language to his assistant and never said anything to me. I pointed out that one of the blinds was crooked by about 3/4" and I wanted it straightened. It was clear he was just trying to get out the door quickly and he wouldn't fix it. He left the old screws and brackets just laying on my floor which seemed sloppy. I also noticed I received routed blinds instead of the routeless that I ordered. Time to call customer service. I explained that I received the incorrect blinds, she acknowledged that I should have received routeless and blamed the manufacturer...which is Eddie Z's. Fair enough, they were made incorrectly, it happens. I also told her that the installer refused to fix my crooked blinds and requested that someone come out the next day to fix them. She was able to schedule this. The installer showed up and immediately saw the issue and fixed it. He had mentioned that he often has to fix installs that other people do and asked who my original installer was. The guy was top notch, really friendly and wasn't just hurrying to get the job done. He also fixed a couple other issues from the original installer. Overall, a so-so experience. The problems were solved, but they use sub-contractors to do the installs. They are not actual Eddie Z's employees so they really have no reason to want to do a job properly. The customer service people were great, but they are a blinds company that sent me the wrong blinds and installed said wrong blinds incorrectly. Their only job is to send me blinds and install blinds and they messed up both of those tasks, but they were able to correct them. I don't regret my experience, but they haven't won a customer for life with this experience. read more

After seeing their commercials for years... "Nobody does it better, Nobody!" When it was time for custom window treatments in a hurry, I gave them a call. I was moving into my new place in just a few days, floor to ceiling windows in bedroom and living room, would be needing privacy, thought, this just might work out.... it did not. I called and booked an appointment with a "specialist".... The woman on the phone told me they had many items that would be available "next day"... Yey.... I was not able to look at these selections. LONG story short, she took down the wrong address, long story short, he ended up on the other side of the universe, was late, making me late, long story short, I asked to see samples of almost all "wood" selections when I placed the appointment..... "I do not bring out the wood samples, unless specially requested" ... but I did request them specially.... "He will call me tomorrow, and bring by the wood samples, styles, etc., He called 1.5 weeks later... I was moved in, blinds up on windows... UPDATE!!! THREE STARS: The President of the company read my ONE STAR review and called me to discuss. I haven't had the chance to talk to him yet, because I have been so busy. I think it's good that He wants to find out in more detail why I was so unhappy with their service and try to make changes for future clients. That is why I changed my star rating, because they care. What a terrible experience. My first mistake was walking in to the store. They do not work well at all with walk ins. So word of advice, it will be a huge battle shopping for drapes here if you don't already know exactly what you want ahead of time. Maybe send your interior designer instead. I don't know much about window treatments so I thought I could walk in and get guided through their process, services and products. Things like timing, cost, measurement and product selection. So the very first thing I said was, could you tell me more about your products and services and help me buy new curtains. Instead I was talked down to for not knowing this stuff already, not knowing the fabric I wanted (I mean I literally just walked in to the store and you expect me to have a fabric picked out already?), and I had to ask all the questions to figure out their process in the most painstaking way possible. I asked if they could explain to me their fabrics and a design consultant huffed at me and said "Well we have thousands and I can't help you until you pick one" and then flopped a book of swatches in front of me. I asked "Could you show me a modern gray?" and she acted like I didn't deserve to even be in their store. I eventually found one myself by flipping through a book. They did not help me very much at all. They didn't ask me things like, what color are your walls, what does your window look out onto, is it a floor to ceiling window, what room will this be in, etc. Basically the "design consultant" didn't try to help me choose what would look good in context or provide her own recommendation. She also never introduced her name or ask for my own name or contact information. (Isn't that the absolute very basics of customer sales?) Talking to one of their design consultants felt like a humiliating and degrading conversation and I definitely would not want to work with Eddie Z's. If they're going to sell me $4,000+ curtains then I think you could treat me with a little more guidance and friendliness. You shouldn't make it so difficult and complicated to shop at your store. Is that too much to expect these days? If you had simply been nicer and said things like, "This is a really nice fabric that will look great in your home" or "The brand that you picked is fantastic and known for quality" then I would have been exponentially more likely to work with you. I do hope this review causes other shoppers to avoid Eddie Z's until they retrain their sales staff to be helpful when selling $4,000+ curtains. read more

This is an awful experience that I gonna tell. The first sad thing is I have to start with one star in order to post this comment. I ordered three shades of basic fabric from their downtown store, 818 W. North Avenue, Chicago, IL 60642 (312) 951-0400. During the installation, we found there was a pretty obvious seam in the middle of all three shades. Then we called their customer service during the installation process. Both customer service and installation persons promised us that they would bring back replacement for all three shades. However, after couple days, we called back to reach our original sales person in store. He said he can only replace these shades with a more expensive ones, and we have to pay the difference, because our windows are too tall (10 ft). And there will be no refund for any case from this company in the past. This is their POLICY !!!! Seriously ?! This is you fault because you didn't tell their customer that there would be a OBVIOUS seam in the middle of all shades before customer placed the order. If customers have been well notified properly, they probably would have already chosen another supplier. So this is absolutely hidden fees or trick they used there. Trap you in and you have to stick with it ! This is their POLICY !!!! What's the worst part ? Not just of their dishonesty/overlook, there is no follow-up email/call from this store after I called them. And he promised me that someone, either him or his manager will call me back. OK, I got it. This is their POLICY !!!! Last but not least, they don't allow negative comment posted on their Facebook pages. Why ? This is their POLICY !!!! I thought that the reviews were probably from people who were not educated on high end window treatments or blinds, had some insecurities with the staff about cost etc. Well this is not the case. It's just bad customer service, compounded with an unappreciative sales team. I purchased $7200 worth of window treatments 11/23/15. It is now 12/26/15 and the only updates I have received are from my calling and asking on status updates. George is a great guy until you place your order, then he is too busy chasing more commission in his Mercedes to keep you updated. I'm furious. The reviews are accurate, this place blows. If I spend $7200 anywhere I expect a least a minimal degree of customer service. Avoid George, avoid Eddie Z all together. 1/13/2016: After an additional 4 weeks and a few more phone calls I MADE, I found out my order was lost in shipping. I was told as a consolation they would install 1/3 of the order they did have. I attempted to call back and speak to Craig the regional manager about the issues I had. I will be honest after spending $7200 I thought they could do better. His assistant called me back and was confused as to why I wanted to speak to him since I was given an install date of 1/16/16. It was impossible for Eddie Z's to understand why I was upset. No one contacted me and an estimated delivery of 3-4 weeks turned into what is now 9 weeks late. Please do yourself a favor and never shop at this store. They have zero respect for customers, and they do not care if paper drapes line your house. The original sale is all that matters. Terrible is the only word i can use to describe them. The installer has been out three times, and still has not completed the job. The fist time he came out the brackets were not included with the shades. Almost three weeks later, he came to install them again but some of the shades were not cut right. He said it would be a few days for them to re-cut the missing shades and for him to come back and install them. I called two days later after not hearing anything for them to tell me it would be another two weeks for the shades to come in. This is a place of business and the shades were extremely expensive. There is no excuse for these kinds of mistakes. Not only that, but one of the shades that were installed has been installed backwards and i can't even roll it up. I also paid extra for black out shades because this is a photography studio and we can't have extra light leaking in. Well needless to say there are tons of light leaks. Please learn from my mistakes and avoid doing business with Eddie Z's at all cost! It's just not worth the aggravation. read more

My new living room bamboo blinds had to be returned because they were too heavy for the space to be covered. It was unfortunate the sales person wasn't aware that this type of blind was too heavy for such a large area, i.e., know your product. As for my new bamboo bedroom blinds, still under warranty, a repair person had to be called to fix them because they wouldn't stay up. After three separate calls and visits, one little problem remained: the blinds still wouldn't stay up. In order for the blinds to stay in an up position, I had to tie their cords to the handle of a sliding glass door. After the 4th call (the blinds were no longer under warranty) a different repair person was sent . He replaced four rollers and the blinds now work perfectly. To add to my frustration, I was billed for not calling before the warranty was up. What part of this story doesn't make sense? read more

This review is about a month overdue but we were really happy with the service that we got from Eddie Z's getting new blinds throughout the house and drapery panels in our living room. I can't remember the guy's name who came to our initially for the design consultation, but he was so nice and very helpful without ever being pushing or making us feel like we were being up sold. Scheduling the installation was easy and everything was ready for install about 2 weeks ahead of schedule, which we were really happy about. The installer (whose name I also can't remember) was really nice, fast, and efficient and cleaned up after himself. Honestly, we didn't do much in terms of shopping around but I thought the price we paid was really reasonable, especially for the convenience of being able to do drapery panels and blinds together. The only comparison we had was from Ethan Allen, which was twice as much and did not include any blinds. We'd definitely use Eddie Z's again. read more

I made an appointment with one of the Eddie X's consultants. He brought many beautiful samples to choose from. Consultant was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. He helped to choose the right color, which matches perfectly to the rest of the room. Their prices are pretty fair. It cost me even less than the estimate has shown. Great service! Horrible experience with this company. Ordered 10 blinds. Three were mis-measured. Two were made wrong. The replacements had rips in the fabric. Took six months to get it all straightened out. Then they close the store and stop supporting our installation. Told me that 'you need to call the manufacturer'. Hope that they go out of business. read more

After YELP, I got a call back right away from the regional manager, he said it was a "miscommunication". I also faxed in the guarentee and got a call the same day from the store. I think what they do is charge one price and guide you toward a cheaper product. I only suggest you know exactly what you want and read the contract before you pay for anything. We met Craig, the manager, at the store. He was very nice and said yes, we could get what had been put in 7 years ago with the room darkening foil inside, the only problem was the color difference. The strings hanging down was the installer's fault. It will now be 4-6 weeks for installation. read more
