It might be tucked inside a gas station, but don't let that fool you. The food is legit. I ordered one of their burgers (spicy chicken) and it was stacked with flavor -- fresh veggies, grilled onions, and perfectly toasted sour dough bread. Every bite was awesome. The steak fries on the side were super tasty too. And my friends had curly fries, which were crispy and addicting. I definitely liked those more. They also had 2 house sauce bottles on the table that took things to another level -- definitely try it if you go. The vibes were relaxed and the staff was really friendly, which made the whole experience even better. Still, the name Shuko had me curious, it's one of Guatemala's most iconic street foods, so I had to try it. For those who don't know, a traditional Guatemalan shuko is street food done right: grilled bun, steamed hot dog, Guatemalan-style guacamole (no onions or tomatoes), sauerkraut, mustard, ketchup, and mayo. Their take here is a bit different no guac on mine, but still packed with flavor. A mix of grilled meats, sauerkraut, and condiments all stuffed into a roll. Definitely not traditional, but still tasty. I also tried one of their pupusas, and it hit the spot. A classic revuelta melted cheese and chicharrón oozing out of a perfectly griddled corn masa pocket. Comfort food, plain and simple. Only downside The fries. They were undercooked, a little limp.
