Bad food and poor service. Staff leaned against the bar and stared at their phones the entire time.

It honestly looks like a cruise ship! The food displays are immaculate, and everything looks fresh. I love sushi and sashimi and their bar did not disappoint! Everything was fresh, and the flavors were amazing! I tried several items from the buffets and I don't think I had anything that was bad. They have a Pho and a Mongolian bar and I was too full to even eat from them! The waiter and waitresses were very nice, kept up with drink refills and removing our plates quickly. I have been back several times now, and always bring people with me, and they have all been impressed as well! Love this gem on the West side!

All very impressive. Not too busy on Friday at 11:30 am but it got busier. Service for drinks was very attentive but almost everyone i saw just got water. I asked about Japanese drinks and the waiter said we go to the front and grab those out of a fridge. On to the food. I started with the sushi of which there was a very large selection of both sashimi and sushi rolls, including several different toppings. I was bitterly disappointed that the taste of the sushi was not good. In fact, I could not even eat it except for the fried items which were good, although not really hot. I'm a little embarrassed to say that I did stuff a couple pieces of sushi in a napkin so that it didn't look so wasteful but really I could not eat it. Unfortunately this was my daughter's first time trying sushi so still not sure if she likes it. Onto the other hot dishes, the Asian food such as general Tso chicken, chicken with mushrooms, and beef with peppers was all very good. However, the fried rice just had some color and onion in it, no egg, no carrots, no peas. And the noodles were very basic but edible. The spring roll was very mushy again could not finish that. At this point, I was kind of over trying to find things that I liked and decided to end with some ice cream. There were just little cups of ice cream three different flavors and this was honestly the best part of my meal. My daughter tried three little cakes and she said they were excellent. I'm not sure about the salads and the fried American foods they had but overall I would just say the quality wasn't something I would go back for. There were people that had been there before, seemed like regulars and even had reward card to punch so maybe certain palletes enjoy it. I do think that the Asian protein dishes were the best part for me but not worth a return trip.

My girlfriend and I moved down the street (literally) about a year ago. Every time we come here,…read morethe food is incredibly tasty and the staff is so kind. The prices are very reasonable, the patio is the place to be, and the restaurant sits perfectly in between fancy and casual. We try to come here at least once a month!

There is literally no where to stand while you wait for your table...and wait we did. We were shown to our table at 6:10. The hostess told us they had a party of 30 and party of 40, so we tried to be understanding but also-they accepted the reservations-so kind of on them. Our server had an attitude from the moment she approached our table. She was waiting on one of the parties, but still... We were sitting in the back room and it was LOUD. Like couldn't hear other people at our own table loud. We had an older person in our party and when we asked our server to come to the other side of the table so he could hear her, she didn't-so she ended up misunderstanding and bringing him the wrong drink. There was a guy who we *think* may have been a manager hanging around, but he never did a table touch, so hard to tell. We had questions because gluten free food is offered but not marked on the menu or online, it said ask your server. She was annoyed but we have allergies so...I will say they have really good gluten free options; however when we reconfirmed that she had gotten the gluten free bun she was annoyed again. The only reason I gave 2 stars (the one redeeming quality) was the food. It was all excellent and cooked perfectly. The server didn't come back to check how things tasted-but someone in our party flagged her down to get lemon wedges for her seafood pasta. The waitress literally rolled her eyes, grabbed lemons wedges from the bar and brought them in a cup that she slammed down and walked away without a word. We ordered dessert because we were there to celebrate a birthday. Before dessert came, our server cashed us all out. This is what put me over the edge: WHILE WE WERE STILL EATING she slammed down a reserved sign. When we started standing up, she picked it up. Most restaurants allow for 90 minutes for reservations to turn a table. We were only at the table for 70, so we totally weren't lingering. I might give this place another try because the food was so good, but because of this experience, I'd definitely think twice.

From the moment we arrived, the evening was filled with warmth and thoughtful surprises. Reservations are a must, but Stephanie at the bar made the wait delightful with her cheerful smiles and welcoming energy. A quick cocktail later, we were informed our table was ready. The highlight of the night? Grace, my favorite person at the restaurant, made a grand entrance with a half-dozen roses--delivered as requested to surprise my lovely wife. It was such a sweet touch that made me look like a hero! Once we were seated, Matt came by with two Champagne glasses and a bottle of top-shelf bubbly to toast the occasion. Talk about starting the night off right! The surprises didn't stop there--our first appetizer was on Grace, which was such a generous gesture. Then came the main courses: a perfectly cooked filet for my wife and delicious scallops for me. Every bite was divine, and I savored every single scallop. It was an unforgettable evening filled with exceptional service, delicious food, and thoughtful touches that made our anniversary so special. Cheers to nights like these!

Everything, from checking in, to coat check, to Aaron-my server, to food quality, to Grant-the manager, was exceptional. You could order from the regular menu or their Thanksgiving prix fixe. I ordered the Tday meal. The Turkey was so tender. I don't normally eat gravy, but the gravy was very good. Had the crabmeat appetizer and it was very good as well. There were diners at other tables who saw mine and added it to their orders. I was surprised that it was so crowded/evidently a lot of people choose to go out on TDay. Despite the crowd, only a couple of glitches, which they handled very professionally. I will definitely return for a traditional steak dinner. As an added bonus, they donate to a local food pantry where I volunteer. Great food and a commitment to caring for others? I'll definitely return.

A Delicious Time Machine You Actually Want to Eat In…read more Windward Passage is the kind of restaurant that makes you feel like you've stepped straight into 1978, in the best possible way. If you've ever thought, "Man, I miss the days when dishes had names and not just 'deconstructed concepts,'" this place is your new home base. Appetizer - Coquille St. James Sea scallops, sauce, mashed potatoes... basically a fancy seafood shepherd's pie that your nostalgic inner child will absolutely high-five you for ordering. Rich, creamy, comforting -- it's like a culinary hug from a decade with better music. Waldorf Salad Phenomenal. Flavorful. The kind of salad that reminds you why this dish used to be the Beyoncé of dinner parties. Fresh Catch - Haddock No picture, but you can tell this fish was fresh. Like, "probably had weekend plans before it met the kitchen" fresh. Decor Dated. Dark. And somehow awesome. Imagine the set of a 70s maritime movie, but everyone's actually having a good time. Atmosphere They open at 4 PM and there's a line -- because apparently everyone else also loves time travel. I was probably one of the youngest people there, which is a strange but empowering feeling. Like being the rookie on a team of seasoned pros. The staff? Super friendly. Pro tip: the bar fills up FAST. Olympic speed. If you want a bar seat, you need reflexes. Also heard the dining room runs warm -- so if you run hot, maybe bring a tiny fan or pretend you're on a tropical cruise. Final Verdict: Windward Passage is a retro gem with hearty food, friendly vibes, and the kind of throwback charm that makes you grin. I'm absolutely putting this into rotation with friends for bar hangs, drinks, and really good food.
