Far too often I settled for less than ideal (too narrow, poor arch support, etc.) and suffered the consequences with aching feet, blisters and other irritations. Schuler employs people that actually understand how to measure ones feet and then properly size footwear. As a result I always walk out with shoes or boots that feel great, need no break-in period and look great. They offer a vast selection of quality brands and almost always have what I'm looking for and a perfect fit in stock. I usually wait for a sale and then stock up by buying multiple pairs of footwear. I've also joined their rewards program. Thus, pricing, particularly given the excellent service and quality selection becomes a relative bargain. This store can get busy but never to the point where I felt that I was unacknowledged or conversely felt rushed into making a purchase decision. My father used to say that nothing is more expensive than a cheap pair of shoes. Do your sore, tired, barking dogs a favor and check out Schuler.

I was looking online to see if they carry converse, as I was looking for a pair of regular black chucks. When I entered the store there were tons of staff all over which is nice to see these days. I browsed the men's section first since the shoes are pretty much the same, I couldn't find them at first so I went across the store over to the women's and couldn't find converse in women's either. I did notice the women's shoes wasn't as busy as the men's. I browsed around a bit (no one greeted me or anything in men's or women's). I did finally find them under a table display and they only had platforms for women's so I went back over to men's to take another look. I did find them and waited for a salesman to assist me. A man walked up (after me) and the shoe he wanted was next to stock room so he was helped right away. I waited and asked for help.. I was told by a rep that he had to go check on some other customers, I kept waiting and being ignored to the point I witnessed reps asking people still looking around if they needed help and finally someone came up to help me, I asked for a 7 (as I'm a 8 1/2, 9 in women's), he came back and told me the smallest size they have is an 8 which is too big. He asked who I was shopping for, I said myself and he asked me what size I wear and I said about a 9 in women's and he said "well this is men's" as if I was blind. Just didn't like the vibes all around.

For sure feel like it's catered to the older crowd. We parked at Von Maur to cut through to the mall. A few things did catch my eye while passing so we ended up looking around a bit. I did find an item to purchase and walked a bit to find a pay station. When I walked up a customer and the cashier were deep into conversation about vacation and even with me waiting they carried on for 5 or so minutes after the fact. I ended up sitting in the chairs nearby to wait. I can say when they finally wrapped their conversation the cashier wasn't as friendly which made me think maybe I shouldn't purchase from them. There was no "thank you for your patience or waiting", "did you find everything okay" or anything. Overall the store is pretty neat and organized. Not a ton of staff around but also never seen a lot of people shopping either. Items seem to be good quality.

I wanted to grab some lunch at the food court and bring it back to my hotel room. I parked by Von Maur and cut through the store to get to the food court. When I lived in Minnesota, huge department stores were popular. Macy's. Dayton's. Sears. Nordstrom. Neiman Marcus. Dayton's was Minnesota-based. It died, similar to Sears. It was my first time stepping foot in a Von Maur store. It felt like walking into an old Eaton's or Simpsons store when I was a kid. There was a lot to see. It felt comfortable. There was excitement. The first store that the von Maur family opened was in the late 1800's in Davenport, IA. It has since expanded to fifteen states. Its headquarters are still in Davenport. I had no idea. I have actually been to Davenport! This store had a wide variety of brand-name merchandise. I saw popular brands, such as Tommy HIlfiger and Anne Klein. There were many brands that I had never heard of, such as Lyssé, AGB, and Ruby Rd for women's clothing. I am such an outlet, discount shopper. It was nice checking out a classy department store, to change things up. I felt comfortable. Staff were super friendly and non-judgmental. They smiled and said hi. The best part was hearing a pianist in the lobby play songs at noon. It was so cheerful and refreshing as I browsed and moved. I loved it. There were escalators and elevators to get to to various floors of this large department store. It was clean and inviting. I will need to return when I'm not looking for lunch to shop here. I loved what I saw and I look forward to returning. (415)

I decided to pay it a visit. I like being pleasantly surprised. This Kohl's is a part of Eden Prairie Center. How did I not know that I was by a mall?! Anyway, I parked and walked in. This Kohl's is huge. There are two floors. There's an escalator in the middle of the store. The Minnesota sports apparel section is impressive. You have all four major sports teams (Wild, Timberwolves, Vikings, and Twins) represented in the form of hoodies, t-shirts, practice shirts, and more. There was a sale going on. Although I'm not a huge football fan, part of me wants a Vikings hoodie simply because it's in my favourite colour. I love the Fossil animal wallets and change purses. I am pleased that I have willpower. I am perfectly content with my wallet and didn't buy a new one. The shoe section is great. I found a pair of pink Vans in my size. I didn't really need any shoes, but I enjoyed browsing. This store has Sip by S'well beverage bottles. I own a pair of purple ones and they work well. This store also has accessories, from special brushes to clean the bottles, to reusable straws with a special cleaning brush for them. Neat! In October, Peanuts plushies were going for $5 each. I wanted one, but decided to pass. I am glad that I am patient. These plushies were 50% off. I ended up getting Snoopy and Charlie Brown, so I essentially bought one, and got one for free. The cashier seemed nice, but a bit impatient. I had to wait for my rewards barcode to load on my phone. I felt her evil eye staring at me. I let it slide. Eventually, the Kohl's app co-operated on my phone, and she was able to scan it. I paid using a credit card. The prompts were confusing on the machine. It said that it required cashier assistance, but it really didn't. Anyway, I successfully paid, grabbed my goodies, said thanks, and left. It's a good store. I'd come back again. (494)
