2nd Swing has a nice online and brick n' mortar club selection with market-price on most clubs comparable to ebay but the customer service is rather poor. I ordered clubs which were defective upon delivery and had a difficult time (5 days) even receiving an email response. When I called customer service to check up the concern I received a surly response which was sort of off putting but understandable. Finally after receiving a shipping label and shipping the club I was informed of a 2 week time period (business days) to even receive a refund on a defective item. I understand that 2nd swing is a family-run business and has perhaps a smaller staff relative to their revenue however this experience has left a poor taste in my mouth, in large part because my direct interactions with customer service agents were quite negative. Nevertheless I think it's in bad taste to just pan a business over stuff like this. To credit their store the selection of clubs is great and the website is easy to use. I will probably continue to shop here as to not be petty however I think these complaints are justified read more

Great trade-in service with a huge inventory to trade-up. Have sold them at a set and several woods over the years. Their pricing scheme is on the lower end compared to local options however this is off set by their trade-up gear is very current and some with premium shafts. A highlight is their customer service, speaking to their associates to work through the process is incredibly helpful. Tyler in particular helped with trade ins and the purchase of a premium driver. bought clubs in person and they have a 30 day return window. Since I bought them in person I can only receive store credit for the clubs (their policy). if you buy them online you get 60 days and can get credit back onto the original card of purchase. so by going out of my way to go to the store in person I now have clubs that I'll try to resell them and get my money back or have a credit to their store (which may expire after a certain amount of time) for stuff I won't need. Very BAD experience with 2nd Swing: Traded several clubs and four driver shafts for a used driver. Had items listed on a sheet and put it in the shipping box. I packed the box myself. Received a memo saying that two of the shafts were not enclosed. Totally WRONG! No one at 2nd Swing would help me! A feel bad challenging a family owned company, but they did me wrong. Had the opportunity to spend and hour and a half getting fitted for new irons with Tyler Fitzel in February. I walked with pre conceived notion regarding clubs I wanted to play, but let Tyler do his magic and am now happily hitting my new Ping G710 as golf courses have opened. Absolutely outstanding. I had an outdated set, they (Warren) took time with me, was an excellent analyst of my swing, tried multiple variables in irons, and I think nailed the he best set for me. When he could've gotten things done quicker, he took the time. Mark O at the Minneapolis 2nd Swing location was smooth, knowledgeable and literally took me through four or five separate upgraded driver options for me to compare to my Taylor Made R1 that has been treating me well. Once down the "the" club, a Ping G425, Mark then tweaked my R1 to better match my swing with five balls each per club. Night and day difference, the Ping G425 wins. Actually was heading straight to the course for a round with the new driver. Happy place. This store was recommended by a friend of a friend who had a lot of kids who needed golf clubs through the years and found this was the best value. We had looked at two other stores for starter sets for my six grade son. They were $210 and $280. Second swing had a starter set for $130 and it had more clubs then the $210 set. The gentleman who helped me with was very friendly. My son wanted to try out the clubs and we were told "sure" and got one of those screens that you can golf into and it keeps track of how fast your ball goes and which way. This Is not the largest store for golf items, but it will have everything you need. Used and new clubs, balls, tees. Try it! read more

I've become a major 2nd Swing fan over the years. My favorite fitter/coach at the Minneapolis location is Dean Goodwin. He's passionate about golf, and he'll take the time to fit you and find clubs that will work best for you. Dean is an excellent golfer himself, and he is a student of the game -- constantly seeking to get better and learn more about instruction. I appreciate that 2nd Swing isn't a high-pressure sales environment. It's people that genuinely love golf and helping people play better. I've never felt pressure to walk out of the store with a club. They have a huge inventory of clubs and accessories, so you can try out multiple sets of clubs in their simulators to find out what works best for you. My boyfriend had bought a mint full set of Taylor made irons. A week later we went back and his same set of clubs were there but this set had a 4 iron- which his set did not come with. They refused to take the 4 iron out of that set for him to purchase. There were no single 4 irons of the Taylor made club set he got. It was very frustrating because he just paid $1,300 a week ago for a set that didn't have a 4 iron and they wouldn't give it to him a week later even when he would pay for it. Another friend of mine had a scheduled club fitting for this week (he was going to buy a whole new set of irons so he was ready to spend a good deal of money). He had a work call go over and got to second swing 10 minutes late. An older man said that the canceled his appointment because he was 10 Minutes late, but the fitting was scheduled for an hour long. I get that showing up late can result in cancelation but the man who "helped" him was super rude and unkind. Then my friend said he was just going to look at clubs alone and the older man goes, "well we're still not gonna fit you for them". So he went to pga super store and had the best customer service for a WALK IN fitting. If you're looking for a discount golf store, do not go here. Horrible customer service and no respect for customers! Go to golf galaxy or pga super store. The $100 more for clubs is worth it for hen there is nice workers who treat you good. read more

Not a customer focused business. From time to time issues pop up in business transactions that were not expected. You can judge the character of a business by how they address the issues vis a vis their customer. By my standards, 2nd Swing fails. In March I purchased a Tour Edge fairway wood with a planned trade of my Epic Flash 3W valued $100 in trade by 2nd Swing. I paid for the Tour Edge with the clear written notation that once I decided to keep the Tour Edge, I would send the Epic in for the trade at $100. After getting enough rounds in to decide that I would keep the Tour Edge (driving ranges are closed in TX due to the virus) I sent an email to 2nd Swing requesting the FedX shipping label so I could send my trade to them. I heard nothing so today I called. "Theo" told me that they had not received any emails from me - sorry Theo, I do not believe you are telling me the truth. Email is not that unreliable. Each email had the order number in the Re line. I was also told that since the trade value on their site for my Epic Flash had fallen to $58 in the interim, that is all they would give me. I asked, so what if the shoe was on the other foot and you lowered the price on the Tour Edge by $50 in the interim, would you give me a $50 credit? Answer, No! So, You get screwed on both ends of the deal. I honestly believe that I have spent over $5,000 with 2nd Swing over the years. They are so big that they can frost a long-term customer for $42 and not bat an eye. I just don't believe this is a business culture that golfers should support - beware. Hit them straight! Every time I've come here there's always been some sort of attitude issue with anyone that I've asked for assistance where they either seem like they don't want to help or they make suggestions that have nothing to do with what I'm asking for. I ordered and received a golf club that was listed to be in "above average" condition. The club had a rusted club face. I would not consider that to be "above average" condition. I sought a refund for the club and the refund process was slow. Customer Service staff stated that refunds are processed in 2-3 business days was the returned club is received. But the refund actually took more than a week, and may have been longer if I did not email to ask about when the refund would be processed. read more

If you are looking to get fitted for clubs, don't waste your time coming here. I got fitted for irons last September at the Minneapolis location and just found out that they are .25 inches too long and the swing weight is setup for a junior/ senior player... I'm a 24 year old male. At the time of the fitting, I was obviously unaware of length and weight but after talking to a fitter at the PGA Superstore I was told that this was a very basic step to getting the right clubs. He told me he couldn't believe they could get these 2 things wrong. In hindsight, I can't believe it either. Makes me wonder how many other people they have done this to. Does not feel good to be taken advantage of, given false information and ultimately completely messed up the lessons I have been getting over the winter just to make a sale. Now I have to get new irons that actually FIT, thought that's what I got last fall. Save yourself the hassle and make a bigger investment upfront because if you try to save money by coming here, you will just get clubs that don't fit you whatsoever. The worst part is that I reached out to multiple people through multiple channels over a two week period to get an update and got zero response from any of them. When someone finally got back to me after two weeks, they assured me they would take care of it and get the orders expedited. It's now been 16 weeks since my fitting and seven weeks since they "assured" me they'd make it right and I have precisely none of the clubs I ordered. Paid a fairly high price for an iron that was hard to find. Graphite shaft had a crack in it.

I bought a few clubs from them. One was a hybrid and I took it to a Roger DUNN local for a re grip. The manager said do you really want to spend money on this because the shaft has a bad wire mark from the bag. Under stress it may break!! Why would you sell a club in poor condition? I would highly NOT recommend purchasing products from here. It's internet purchase and YOU the consumer have to spend $$$ to ship it back. Why?? Clubs are in POOR condition!!! I bought a Mizuno hybrid from them - the head came off the shaft. I am only 2 weeks past warranty...they state "nothing they can do". Also, bought a Titleist Driver that is dead. I swing it next to my last two drivers and it's 30 yards less. Don't think it's a Titleist issue since I recently pounded the newer year model way farther than the one I have. It has a wierd clanky sound - it's just out of warranty as well. 90-days for clubs isn't a very good warranty in my opinion - only play a couple rounds a month (was attributing the lack of carry/distance with the driver to it still being cold), it takes a while to find out you bought a bad product. Deals appear to be good, but I am 1 for 3 in clubs I recently purchased from them, so I would STAY AWAY! read more

Heard great stories about their instore fitting and sales services. I have followed their youtube channel for quite some time and finally decided to order a custom P790 iron from 2nd swing. I picked from the available options on their site and placed my order on June 17th. Five days later I received an email advising that the shaft option I picked was not available. After a little back and forth over a few days, I ask if I can use my credit toward the purchase of a pre owned set instead and pay the difference. 2nd swing agrees and send me an invoice for the set of Sim 2 Max irons I selected. I pay for the order on June 30th. Im told my order will be shipped out the next day after payment is received. Well... I dont see any shipping updates on July 1st or 2nd, but I figure its due to the 4th of July weekend. July 5th I see label created in the tracking info. On July 11th I still have not received my order. I check the tracking and it still says Label created, but there is no movement. I call and speak to a rep who can't explain why my order hasn't shipped, but says he will call taylormade and see what the delay is. We hang up, but then I realize that the irons I ordered were supposedly " pre owned in stock" clubs at 2nd swing. So I call back and inform that rep of the issue. He says its about to be closing time so he will look into it and send me updated tracking info in the morning. Around 2pm on July 12th I haven't received any updates so I call back. I speak to a rep and explain the situation and he puts me on hold. After a few minutes he tells me the rep whos handling my order is on the phone, but he will call me back. Its now July 14th and I havent heard back from the rep. Their site is a mess and needs massive updating, which explains their disorganization on processing orders. Terrible customer service. Prices are ridiculous. I found the same set of Sim 2 Max irons available at global golf NEW for 19 bucks more. Now I have to dispute my charge because the rep is dodging my calls and won't call me back. Won't be shopping with 2nd swing again. read more
