Went in here to get a new grip put on and driver cut down half an inch and never experienced someone so straight up rude and condescending. This is word for word how some of our conversation went...
Manager: "Do you even know how long your driver is?"
Me: "I believe it is 45 3/8"
Manager: **grabs club and goes and measures** "It is actually 45 1/4... But I guess if you measure to very end of the butt it might be close to that"
Me: "Yea, I think I was."
Manager: "Yea, Golfers don't measure to there... They measure just below it"
Me: "OK... Do you guys put hot melt in to the driver?"
Manger: "Nope, why would you want to do that?"
Me: "To raise the swing weight back up for cutting a half an inch off."
Manager: "How much weight did you want to add?"
Me: "5 grams"
Manager: "Oh that is too much... Cutting off that much will only effect 2 swing weights"
Me: "Ahhh gotcha. I just read it was 3 somewhere."
Manager: "Do know what your total swing weight on your club is?"
Me: "No couldn't tell you offhand... "
Manager: "oh..." **turns around measures the club, cuts it, and installs the grip** **re weighs the club**
Manager: "Alright all done, it lessened the swing weight by 2.5 swing weights"
Me: "alright, thank you"
Manger: **zero response**
Honestly this text does not it justice at all on how condescending the voice he was talking to me in either. He was literally trying to get me to prove me wrong off everything I was saying. I wish I had a recording of this interaction. Amazing anyone would come back to this store for help with anything. I pretty certain it said he was some kind of manager on his name clip too. I usually like Golf Galaxy but zero chance I'm ever returning to that store again. read more
