I continue to be impressed with 2nd Ave. thrift superstores as I've been to a few. They are consistent in what you will experience. 1) scent: really have I experienced that thrift store smell whenever I go into a 2nd Ave. thrift store. This one is the same. So they get four stars for that. 2) selection: the store was well stocked, and I found a few things I was looking for and a few things I wasn't but realize I needed 3) size: I called is a superstore, but compared to the store tomorrow it's about half the size. It wasn't as small as some of the Goodwills but I don't know that I would call it a superstore. 4) prices: as 2nd Ave. always does. There are two colors that were 50% off so if you can find those you'll get some great deals. Otherwise the prices were decent. It seems as though many thrift stores have raised their prices, but I wouldn't say the prices were outrageous or unreasonable. 5) location: it was relatively easy to find, and had a sufficient amount of parking. 6) service: I appreciate the self check out that they offer. And the staff was responsive and helpful when I was looking for a couple of items in the store. Overall, this is absolutely worth a stop, and I will likely be back. read more

My first time visiting 2nd Avenue Thrift on Allentown Road was such a disappointment. I was taken aback, turned off, and shocked by the prices of the items in this THRIFT store. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The prices at this store reminded me of my good decision to stop donating to thrift stores. I have now started donating ONLY to centers and facilities that TRULY help their communities, and therefore ALL of the items that I donate are free to their customers. The organizations that I now donate to are strictly geared towards helping true low income and less fortunate. The prices at the store are the prices that you would find in regular store AND intentional high priced stores. This store receives donations FOR FREE, AT NO COST TO THEM, AND YET THEIR PRICES ARE MERELY A DISHONEST RACKET. It was very disappointing to see that this store is obviously run by persons who seek to profit excessively and exceedingly from the kindness and generosity of others. I should NEVER see art work at any thrift store for $129.00 that is not the authentic art work of Picasso. I should NEVER see a water jug for $124.00 , even a large one. I should never see a cat sculpture for $69.00. I should never see an 8x10 picture frame for 9.99 (this is the same amount that I would pay at a store for a brand NEW frame). I should never see cookware for $34.00. As I walked through this thrift store, my shock progressed to disgust. This store truly needs to be regulated. Their prices are unheard of when it comes to a thrift store. This particular thrift store truly needs to be investigated and regulated. I can't support dishonesty and mere greed. There are other thrift stores that do have prices that are too high for a store that receives all of their items for free, but I've never been to even ONE, that demonstrates this level of GREED. This was my first time at 2A, and I was pleasantly surprised by the organization and the selection of items available. What stood out most was the selection of cookware, most in really good condition. The displays were thoughtfully put together and added a nice touch. Some of the prices were a bit high, but I saw that they offer discounts on specific days. They also have self checkout , which surprised me, but staff was also nearby in case assistance was needed. read more

There are several stores under 2nd Ave umbrella- The one in Camp Springs, Md on Allentown Rd, I would recommend. Also the one on University Blvd, it is a good idea to join their reward program. You get coupons and sales that are for reward members only. read more

This thrift store was a wonderful place to shop. The new managers have changed the way they do business. The store has a daily color tag sale. Well it seems that there are none of those tags on on the racks for customers to purchase those items on sale. I visited the store 2 days in a row and those colors could not be found. The exchange policy is not customer friendly and is really inconvenient. read more

Huge store with lots of items and very organized. Some of the staff do not speak fluent English but they're still friendly and try their best to help you. However, I've noticed the prices have gradually increased. I dont expect to be paying $15 for a preowned blouse or shoes. Even the kids toys can be $6+ for a car. I feel like the staff look up the items on Ebay and see how much they go for and that's how they price everything. read more

This is by far one of the nicest, cleanest and organized thrift stores that I have ever been in. It is a large store and every time I come it is clean and not littered with things all over the floor like some thrift stores can be. I am also impressed with how organized it is. Their wall of purses is organized by color as are racks of clothes. That is so helpful when searching for something. The homeware section is huge. They have a whole aisle with glass and crystal, another aisle full of dish sets and pots and pans and so forth. They have toys, books, small appliances, towels and sheets and clothes for all ages. They also offer sale days. So certain days they will feature a certain color tag and that will be a certain percentage off. I'm not sure the exact sale days but I've visited most recently on Friday and there was no sale that day. If you find yourself in the area then you probably already know about this gem of a thrift store and if you're just passing through it is a must stop! read more

You can get lost and find lots of items here! I have been to three locations in the area and each time I leave with many items. Like any thrift store if you take your time you may find something. There are many sections, each with many rows, from housewares, shoes, purses, clothing and books. I will definitely be back. I particularly love the 4th of July sale where everything is 50% off. read more

I wish I could give a lower rating. The management team is incompetent. The prices are continually rising and the customer service decreases. One of the worst thrift stores I have ever visited. Do yourself a favor and drive 2 miles down the street to the other thrift store location. This is not just a one time visit thing. I have shopped here multiple times and every time I have had an incident with their staff and their attitude. I am active-duty Air Force photographer of 20 years and an avid camera collector, this was my last visit to this location. THE EMPLOYEES AT THIS STORE ROB THEIR CUSTOMERS! The prices are sky high. They dig through customer's baskets and take what they want. When you try on clothes, they steal anything you leave in your cart. They also allow their families to come in and take items out of the store without paying. BEWARE! And if it happens to you report it! I checked with other customers And one customer told me that she is scared to use the fitting rooms in the back because the employees STEAL OUT OF HER CART whether the item is something personal that she brought to the store or something that she found in the store while shopping. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU GETTING MAD! They just get the facial smirks going at your expense! I had another customer say that she had CAUGHT THE WORKERS STEALING THE ITEMS SHE WAS TRYING TO BUY out of her cart. BEWARE! The store does not hold them selves responsible when they're employees rob you and they review their tape in the back at will. They don't care about your feelings or your health. They don't care if you have a medical condition. They don't care if you shop as therapy. BEWARE! They don't care about you, just the money you spend buying overpriced items! They are so cruddy and unprofessional! They even steal water out of your cart on hot days while you try on clothes! I can't imagine being a decent law abiding citizen and having to work alongside people who rob their customers. RIDICULOUS! BEWARE! I no longer donate here. Used to be really great but now the prices are astronomical for a thrift store. I've seen 5 and 8 bucks for t shirts........this is a THRIFT store. Kids jeans? 10 to 15......kidding me right??? Messy, the whole place has a musty odor that most thrift stores do but there's also dust everywhere so beware if you have allergies. (not a complaint, just a notice for those like me who are allergic) It used to be clean, organized and have appropriate prices for a thrift store, but now.....not so much. I love this place. Gotta hunt sometimes but it's typically neat and orderly. I've only been here M-F, so not sure how the weekends are... do bring your own bags and newspaper to wrap if you think you're hunting for glassware or household goods. A nice mix. This place has the best deals around. A few years ago things were priced pretty cheap, however since everyone & their mama posted their finds on YouTube & Instagram it is getting harder & harder to find a deal here. However it is still one of the best thrift store around. I have found some great items here. I often get compliments on the items I have found here, and when I tell people I got it from a thrift store, they can't believe it. I will admit, the price have gone up a lot, but don't forget why thrift stores were created "It was for people who could not afford to shop other places. And to help people'. I love Village Thrift Stores because the staff knows the advantage of what a clean and organized store does for shopping enthusiasts! There are so many name-brand items here! The clothes are organized so well...by size and style and really clean! It is a real pleasure to shop here! The toys are bagged and sealed....clean and in working order! The staff are helpful and always pleasant! Everything you need or want can probably be found here! I found several vintage aluminum drinking cups, a beautiful new bundt pan, a wonderful heavy dutch oven, and some beautiful designer neck-ties for my honey. They take cash and credit cards, so if you want to shop second-hand without feeling like your picking through dirty items strewn all over the place, check out the Village Thrift Store in Camp Springs. I'm giving this store 2 stars because they have nice finds and nicely laid out. What's keeping me from giving 5 stars? Every single time I go to this store the workers keep the workers really good finds for themselves. I was told to go to an area to get a price because the item had none and personally witness the Latino employees giving items to her friend. Not knowing I understand and speak Spanish . Management needs to intervene. On Labor day- there were a few Latino woman who literally had 3 basket full of shoes . They sorted them at the checkout - I was there the day before to see if I could see if it was worth coming the next day and I know I didn't see some of the stuff they had . It's outrageous the lengths the workers go to beat the customers out of good deals . read more
