Definitely worth a visit for admirers of McKays and stores like Books-a-Million and Barnes & Noble. They have a selection of 2nd hand items and new items ranging from guitars to records, manga to books, apparel to plushies, and more!

A couple years ago I made the decision to return to vinyl as my primary source for music listening…read more While it was unfortunate I was starting from ground zero having lost my vinyl records from the 60's and 70's during one of my many moves, Chattanooga proved to be a fortuitous spot to resurrect this hobby having Yellow Records here in my neighborhood. While this is not an overly large store, they effectively maximize their space to offer a great variety of both new and used albums. The value proposition is frequently accentuated via the many sales events offered both on-line and at the store, throughout the year. You need help, advice, assistance in tracking down a hard to find record, Ben and his team are jolly on the spot, each and every time. Throughout the year Ben demonstrates over and over just how committed he is to our local community......can I give him six stars?

Calling all vinyl lovers! I highly recommend stopping in Yellow Jacket Records! Books and music - my Dad's two favorite things. While at Yellow Jacket Records, Mom found a free record by Harry Chapin's brother, who she and Dad had met many years ago. I found a rare record that Michael Jackson and Mick Jagger collaborated on as well as a classic Joan Baez album. The store owner and staff were so nice and fun to talk too too! Adding this place to my monthly experience list.

I feel terrible leaving such low stars, but honestly I want to give 1. As an out of Towner, I was…read moregoing around Chattanooga to vintage and thrift shop. I should've read reviews. We stopped here and upon walking in I wanted to turn around. The place is packed with stuff, and most is junk. There were piles of clothes on the floor, just absolute chaos. It seems like they just put out whatever people drop off, even if the glassware is dirty. The furniture was gross. I just couldn't get past how awful this place was. Please don't make the trip inside. There are so many other stores down the street that are curated and tidy. Neither employee even acknowledged our existence while we walked around.

I ended up saying never mind thank you and she scoffed at me and gave me a dirty look proceeded to be rude on my way out. Aside from that, the place itself is honestly a dump. I wouldn't recommend going in, it's like a minefield trying to navigate through it. Overpriced and most of the stuff is literally garbage and junk. Hope this helps someone not have an awful experience. OH and the photos online are SOOO outdated. The inside is TRASHED, compared to the pictures.
