A couple years ago I made the decision to return to vinyl as my primary source for music listening…read more While it was unfortunate I was starting from ground zero having lost my vinyl records from the 60's and 70's during one of my many moves, Chattanooga proved to be a fortuitous spot to resurrect this hobby having Yellow Records here in my neighborhood. While this is not an overly large store, they effectively maximize their space to offer a great variety of both new and used albums. The value proposition is frequently accentuated via the many sales events offered both on-line and at the store, throughout the year. You need help, advice, assistance in tracking down a hard to find record, Ben and his team are jolly on the spot, each and every time. Throughout the year Ben demonstrates over and over just how committed he is to our local community......can I give him six stars?

Last weekend, my…read moreMom channeled my Dad's spirit by wanting to go to the Hixson location of Books A Million and wanting to check out Yellow Jacket Records. Books and music - my Dad's two favorite things. While at Yellow Jacket Records, Mom found a free record by Harry Chapin's brother, who she and Dad had met many years ago. I found a rare record that Michael Jackson and Mick Jagger collaborated on as well as a classic Joan Baez album. The store owner and staff were so nice and fun to talk too too! Adding this place to my monthly experience list.

I would go broke shopping at this record store! Stopped here briefly with my brother who told me…read moreabout this place. In the trendy Southside area of downtown Chattanooga, this is a WELL curated shop that also doubles as a tattoo shop I believe. Didn't get to spend a lot of time in here but this store is EPIC!! Dallos carries records that I have never seen in any other shop for real. Great variety of genres. The jazz section is EPIC! You WILL find something you are looking for in here. I mentioned a few recommendations of records I'd like to see and the owner, Marlo wrote it down. Wouldn't surprise me if it's in the store when I come back. Prices looked good on the mostly new sealed records. I plan to spend a lot of money in here when I have more time to browse. GET HERE vinyl lovers!!

They had abba coasters and Kendrick. The staff is like super cool. And if you look at their recommendation box they are filled with straight gasss. The cost is the same as Walmart or Amazon and tbf I'd rather support an in person vinyl store than online or giant commercial companies anyway (even if it cost $10 more (which at Dallos' it isn't)). Even had a fkn graduation cd. Haven't seen one of those in like 5 years. Would blow my whole paycheck at this store in like 15 minutes. I got melodic blue, death row, and dj Khalid (and a coaster gkmc). Absolute 5 star. Tattoos too? I guess maybe the workers know how to do that... like wtf?

Based on previous posted pictures, inventory is drastically reduced. I was able to browse through and find two gems and a flyer. Overpriced based on used vinyl condition. Found a rare Rory Gallagher double live 1974 album. Checked the vinyl discs and they appeared barely playable, for about $30 I put it back. Was not worth the 40 minute ride and 10 minutes to figure out it wasnt a storefront, rather a booth. I wont be back.

The Electric Crocodile is THE best vintage store though - from clothing to games to decor to collectibles to keepsakes. This store is like a choose your own adventure through fabulousness. Mom and I stopped in last weekend, experiencing a fun, friendly staff and seeing so many deals on stylish clothes, potential home decor from past iconic eras, and just fun stuff. Some of what I saw - Garbage Pail Kids cards, Star Wars figurines, gems, 60's & 70's & 80's clothing pieces in great condition, and unique candlesticks and art. And an energetic cat is the unofficial store keeper. Can't wait to go back for a few hours soon to decide on what to purchase first!

Prices were very modest and I bought quite a few figures I'd been on the hunt for. He even has some retro video games for sale at great prices too. After walking through the store I spent several minutes speaking with the owner. He has a vast knowledge of collectibles since much of the conversation was sparked after I inquired about a few items that I collect, it was apparent he has been doing this for a long time and understands the importance of providing accurate information and provided me with a wealth of new knowledge on a subject I feel well versed in. This shop occupies a space in what appears to be an old abandoned strip mall so there is plenty of great parking and it also provides the owner with a giant space to display an abundance of very nice antiques and collectibles. I thought the prices were reasonable and for the most part there isn't much junk here so if you looking for the garage sell or thrift store type items this probably isn't the place for you. ThIs is the kind of shop that appeals more to the serious collector, of course there are the nic-nacs but for the most part it is filled with the higher end type items.
