Pretty cool store. Had a mid selection lots of good rock bands but not much rap or rnb. The ladies are quick at checking you out if you're in a rush. The cost of the vinyls are like $5-10 more than online. Still rather buy in person than just delivery. More of a bookstore. But had a good sale for $5 or less vinyls. Still can't give less than 4 because all vinyl stores are worth looking at for the dig. read more

The shop is adorable and this shop is fantastic! Fun assortment of books and records. They also have this "Blind Date with a Book" section where they wrap a random book with a few description words on it and you get a fun new book, super cool idea! read more

Awesome place, tons of books and records, and also some new odds and ends. It's definitely a great place to explore and find some gifts!

Through one of this little bookstore's social media posts, I found a first edition, autographed copy of a cool children's book! (Not gonna say the name of the book 'cause it's for my nephew who's Mom may see this, haha.) When I went to pick up the book today, I overheard a Mom finding some of the classics from my childhood, like Pippi Longstocking! There are so many rare book gems just waiting to be found here. I'm definitely stopping in at least once a month. read more

If I could give this place a zero I would. They have a no return option policy. Okay so I didn't see it. And they wouldn't exchange or take back a book that I realized I already had less than 24 hours later. I'm sure they could have made an exception or give me something back. Saw this place on Yelp! and made sure to stop by when I came to Chattanooga on a recent visit. When a place brings art, vinyl records, and books together like Winder Binder, it's hard to go wrong. It was fun to walk through and linger for a bit. If I lived nearby, Winder Binder would be a regular hang out! read more

Found myself wanting to give a higher rating than this, but really I think 3 stars is in line with the experience. Now, from the outside this is my kind of place, love going into places like this to find some treasures. Old books, vinyl, movies and comics could be found throughout this place. So, I guess where it left me a little disappointed is the fact that the movie selection was so obscure and/or old and/or just didn't care there wasn't any hidden treasure to be had there. The book selection was plenty large enough, but again kind of the same thing, also, I didn't feel like it was as organized as I would have liked it to have been (like a 2nd and Charles). The comic selection was totally random and interestingly enough, they had some really good Golden and Silver age stuff I would have considered getting. Now, I know they have to make a profit, but the price point on these was higher than I'd find at a comic store that specializes in this stuff. You could potentially find something here that you couldn't live without...I'd check them out again, just wouldn't go out of my way for a trip here. read more

Cute, quirky bookstore that has a variety of vinyls, books, and novelty items. It's decently sized and easy to navigate. It's a good place to pass the time if you're in the area and want to wander around. Hubster and I spent a couple of hours looking through the records. The used vinyls were a bit higher priced that I anticipated. read more

Its part clothing store (seemed like a tourist trap) part vinyl part old book store. I ended up picking up some copies of the Dune series so my friend could start reading it. I liked the feel of the store and customer service was great. the lady behind the counter was genuinely happy I was getting some Sci-fi novels and we talked a bit about it. Love supporting small businesses now more than ever but the customer service here is appalling. You would think I came in and started to topple over all their bookcases and walked out. Instead I simply had a coffee cup resting on their bookcase before the passive then quickly aggressive attitude came out of nowhere. The brunette associate asked if I was done with my coffee and I replied but no but thanks for asking. And by the look on her face I promptly asked if I can have the coffee cup indoors. Btw this is not a library but I business I'm trying to support and people bring in coffee everywhere (not a strange concept). She then stated that it's hard to wear a mask when you have coffee ;implying I'm not following covid rules) and most people don't place coffee cups in bookshelves. Calm the freak down woman!!! If you're going to be this hostile and triggered by the public then don't work in the service industry amid the pandemic. I bought a book but left four down due to her prickly personality. read more

This review is strictly on the record store portion... I barely read so I'm not one to be critical! As for the records, the selection has dwindled down a bunch over the years and doesn't fee every fresh. It's a shame because when I was in the store the girl was listening to The Replacements and I thought it would be cool if they sold music like that here! I did buy 2 12" singles, but not much else. The few titles I did recognize were a little high in price for the condition. I made a couple of great purchases here a few years ago, so I really wanted to like this shop... read more

Winder Binder is a unique little store in a great strip of Frazier Avenue that sells used books and records. I didn't find anything I needed on my first visit, but the store did have an interesting selection of books. And it's just a unique little store! read more

This is a really fun store to look around in and kill some time. I like the atmosphere but I found the prices to be high in the record section, I didn't really give the book section much attention so I can't speak for that. My teenage son really likes to go in here though so when I was on the hunt for some specific records and unable to find them in the first couple places I thought to go I decided to make a few calls. I called Books a Million in Hixson and the guys who answered literally said "what can I help you with?" At the end of our conversation he said "I hope I provided you with excellent customer service" I got off the phone excited to have found one of the records there and decided to call Winder Bender and see if they had the other record I needed. A young lady answered the phone and I said "hi! Curious if I could ask you a question before driving across town-" (she interrupts me there & says) "actually mam, I don't have time to answer your questions, sorry." I was shocked and said "oooohkay!???" (Like huh? Seriously?) she said "ok thanks, bye" and hung up. Needless to say, I decided I would not be driving over, paying to park and then digging around to see if they had what I needed, paying a higher price than anywhere else IF I did find it. Sorry, waited over a week to write this review because after getting such friendly and helpful customer service at a chain I was soooo disappointed at this young ladies attitude. I love supporting small local businesses, I'll probably go in and gaze around again in the future but this has left a very bad taste with me. read more

I visited this store a few weeks ago and the space was really charming with a great selection of books and cool local art. However, the service was not good. The girl behind the counter barely acknowledged my friends and I when we entered the store and whenever we asked for help she acted like we were inconveniencing her. It was very off putting. read more
