Working with GSoM was a really miserable experience. Avoid them at all costs…read more Countertops are an allowance item in my home build & I am responsible for selecting the vendor, making selections & paying for overages. Thus keeping track of the cost is important. Additionally, I AM ACTUALLY PAYNG the countertop vendor directly to offset overages with other allowances. Initially, GSoM seemed friendly, but as soon as I had questions about pricing - poof! Their helpfulness vanished faster than a magician's rabbit. It took me 4 emails of unanswered questions before they said they wouldn't share pricing with me. What this meant was a simple question about the price range for a leathered top required 4 emails with GSoM and then they emailed a full 3-page bid to my builder with separate line items for each question buried deep in the bid. It was so confusing. It was also a hassle. The builder's PM was OOO and it took me 5 days to get an email forwarded after my last question. It is absolutely ludicrous that the person writing the check (or using my CC) to pay for the countertops ENTIRELY with my own funds doesn't get the pricing shared with me directly. Imagine buying anything else and the seller doesn't tell you what it costs. Absolutely ludicrous. They are completely unaware of their cognitive dissonance, wrapped up in a little bubble where the customer is viewed as a "walking wallet" and if you don't play their games, you will get their power trips. GSoM tried to gaslight me by saying I was "dramatic" and "aggressive". Getting frustrated with their refusal to answer questions and expressing that constructively isn't dramatic. And wanting to know the price of something I'm paying for is not aggressive. When I expressed frustration, GSoM said "they'd love to work with me" but also tried to play divide and conquer with my builder by asking them if it was OK to refuse to share pricing, while simultaneously trying to preserve their relationship. Spoiler alert: It didn't work. I informed my builder that GSoM missed a golden opportunity to impress but chose the path of antagonization. I remind the builder of how great the other vendor is every day. I get that some buillders don't want customers to see pricing. You know what GSoM should do in those situations? Not share pricing. You know what they should do when it's an allowance and the customer has visbility to pricing? Share the pricing. You're a small business, not Home Depot, act like it and be flexible to each customer's needs. This is not about you. Speaking of them being a small business: their selection sucks, especialy when it comes to modern quartz selection. They have less than half the number of quartz compared to every other vendor I met with. I was able to get a great price on a beautiful MSI Calacatta Elysio in all of my bathrooms and an amazing Cambria on my island for less than GSoM was charging for very basic quartz. The upside to their hostility was that I got a much better deal at another vendor. I've built four homes and worked with so many wonderful local vendors. GSoM is, without a doubt, the worst. THE. WORST. This was a pure antagonistic power play. GSoM is the only 1 out of 9 allowance vendors on this project that wouldn't share pricing. They could have chosen to delight my builder's customer, but they chose to antagonize me. They'll do it to you. It's not worth the risk. GSoM also lies. He says they politely told me that they didn't want to work with me. Wrong. As I mentioned, when I got frustrated they sent me & my builder an email saying that they'd love to work with me. My builder asked me to try and work with GSoM, but they still didn't want to tell the person paying what the cost was. I truly don't understand their power trip, nor their lies. The only way to change GSoM's treatment is for consequences to happen, so that's why I'm posting this review. Walk, don't run, to a vendor that's not going to play power trip games with customers.

I was grateful to have a local option to talk to professionals easily (via phone and in person)…read moreabout a variety of countertop options but I was unimpressed with their administrative abilities. Two examples -- I filled out some initial paperwork to get a quote. I returned again to look at the slabs one more time and when they pulled up my paperwork, they had my contact information attached to another individual's blueprint paperwork, and someone else's blueprint layout attached to mine. Second, after install, when installed cabinet drawers, I saw they written someone else's name under our countertop stone, then crossed it out and wrote our name. They clearly need to upgrade their technology capabilities to avoid these mistakes in the future. I was also frustrated that I had to keep emailing to ask when I'd receive my layout, when I would hear back from scheduling, so I had to keep pushing for that to happen. But in terms of the product, I am pleased with my countertop and overall it was pretty close to my ideal timeline

This review is long over due but hopefully worth the wait. We couldn't be more passionate about…read morethis company, George, and the incredible job done on our kitchen granite! Our request was a bit unconventional; we had all the granite in a handful of pieces already and needed help cutting, joining and polishing edges. We wanted to have this done at our home because we had limited pieces, they fit our counter space only one way (sides weren't same length/depth), and were afraid if done in a shop there would be a high chance for a mis-cut, and we'd be SOL. A handful of companies seemed confused and didn't like that we wouldn't be purchasing the material through them. Most also refused to do it outside of the shop, given the dust and lack of transferable equipment. George, however, although weary of the dust as well, came to the house to check everything out and agreed to do it at our home with my husband's help. Just the two of them, we bought the appropriate masks/filters they spent every bit of 12 hours working their tails off. George was extremely focused on quality, emphasizing the importance he places on the details, down to matching the filler color as close to the granite as possible. This is a man with incredible work ethic, and appreciation for kind people. He was grateful for my husband's help for the duration of the project. We couldn't be happier with how our kitchen turned out and can't recommend George enough! He will definitely be our go-to guy for our future home needs. We sincerely appreciated his genuineness and commitment.
