Kitchen & Bath LLC are incompetent plumbers, poor project planners, and OK bathroom tilers…read more Plumbing problems started during the planning phase, when they told me the sink did not need a an overflow, but I didn't think that was right, so I ordered one with an overflow. Thankfully I was correct, since the sink that they sell does have an overflow. I imagine other customers may have had big problems with the overflow after following their bad advice. I had to purchase the bath tub and bath fixtures. We had asbestos glue under the tile and a tub coated with lead, so I had an abatement company due the demo since Kitchen & Bath did not seem to have the expertise to do it. They claimed they could do it, but did not provide any licensing IDs for asbestos and lead removal. These additional costs are not included in the services provided by Kitchen & Bath and reviewed here. On the other hand, I removed the old plastic tub/shower wall cover and installed the mirror and light by myself. After the demo occurred, it was obvious that the plywood floor needed to be replaced. Alberto argued that they could install new plywood on top, but I disagreed. Mold and rot were a big problem, so I wanted it replaced. He delayed the project by 1 week because he was going on vacation and didn't trust his workers to take the floor out correctly without him around. No one from the company arrived at the time they said they would (early the first day, always late after). I work from home, and there was one day where I told them I had an appointment at 10:30, so they needed to show up before 10:30. They arrived at 10:30, when I was walking into the doctor's office. When I called the project lead (and owner) Alberto back after my appointment, he was incredibly rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful. The tiling install guy was late by a few hours and worked until after 8 pm. I have 2 kids and I could not get them ready for bed while this guy was working. The drywall and paint guy always showed up several hours late and could never arrive at a specified time. One day the guys showed up to work for an hour and then left for the day. The project should have taken 9 days but took two weeks because of these late starts and poorly planned work days. There are several small defects that a good contractor would have fixed or avoided, like scraped paint or chipped cabinet surface. These were minor. Every plumbing fixture leaked after the install was complete: the shower, sink handles, and toilet, in that order. I had my own plumber fix it due to Kitchen & Bath's continued incompetence in this area, costing over $250. I am very angry that we decided to remodel the bathroom due to lead and water damage, only to have them improperly install the plumbing, potentially causing water damage. I forgot to get the certificate of insurance before starting the project, and when I asked for it after, they never responded. My insurance agent also asked for it, and they never responded. Now there's a BBB complaint, with still no resolution. I just want the insurance certificate. So if anyone is going to hire them to do anything, only let them do tiling. Hire your own plumber. And if you can, set a daily schedule in the contract.

At the initial install everything was great and we loved the final product. Not even two years…read morelater, the Blanco sink chipped at the bottom. When I went in, an older unpleasant gentleman that I spoke with said "what are you using a chainsaw". They said I would have to contact Blanco, which I did. Blanco said we should have been advised to use a metal grate to protect the finish on the sink. We were never told this. Blanco was very easy to deal with and they made it right by replacing the sink for free. However, Granite Shop was quite the opposite. They would not come to do this unless they had a job in the area, which took months. They also charged us for a reinstall in addition to us needing to get a plumber, again. They then damaged our newly refinished wood floors and accused us of lying about it, even though it was on our security cameras that nothing was placed on the floor when they were here. In fact, they removed our throw rug at the sink! I highly recommend them if you like a company that doesn't stand by the product they sell and accuse their customers of lying even with proof.

Avoid them at all costs…read more Countertops are an allowance item in my home build & I am responsible for selecting the vendor, making selections & paying for overages. Thus keeping track of the cost is important. Additionally, I AM ACTUALLY PAYNG the countertop vendor directly to offset overages with other allowances. Initially, GSoM seemed friendly, but as soon as I had questions about pricing - poof! Their helpfulness vanished faster than a magician's rabbit. It took me 4 emails of unanswered questions before they said they wouldn't share pricing with me. What this meant was a simple question about the price range for a leathered top required 4 emails with GSoM and then they emailed a full 3-page bid to my builder with separate line items for each question buried deep in the bid. It was so confusing. It was also a hassle. The builder's PM was OOO and it took me 5 days to get an email forwarded after my last question. It is absolutely ludicrous that the person writing the check (or using my CC) to pay for the countertops ENTIRELY with my own funds doesn't get the pricing shared with me directly. Imagine buying anything else and the seller doesn't tell you what it costs. Absolutely ludicrous. They are completely unaware of their cognitive dissonance, wrapped up in a little bubble where the customer is viewed as a "walking wallet" and if you don't play their games, you will get their power trips. GSoM tried to gaslight me by saying I was "dramatic" and "aggressive". Getting frustrated with their refusal to answer questions and expressing that constructively isn't dramatic. And wanting to know the price of something I'm paying for is not aggressive. When I expressed frustration, GSoM said "they'd love to work with me" but also tried to play divide and conquer with my builder by asking them if it was OK to refuse to share pricing, while simultaneously trying to preserve their relationship. Spoiler alert: It didn't work. I informed my builder that GSoM missed a golden opportunity to impress but chose the path of antagonization. I remind the builder of how great the other vendor is every day. I get that some buillders don't want customers to see pricing. You know what GSoM should do in those situations? Not share pricing. You know what they should do when it's an allowance and the customer has visbility to pricing? Share the pricing. You're a small business, not Home Depot, act like it and be flexible to each customer's needs. This is not about you. Speaking of them being a small business: their selection sucks, especialy when it comes to modern quartz selection. They have less than half the number of quartz compared to every other vendor I met with. I was able to get a great price on a beautiful MSI Calacatta Elysio in all of my bathrooms and an amazing Cambria on my island for less than GSoM was charging for very basic quartz. The upside to their hostility was that I got a much better deal at another vendor. I've built four homes and worked with so many wonderful local vendors. GSoM is, without a doubt, the worst. THE. WORST. This was a pure antagonistic power play. GSoM is the only 1 out of 9 allowance vendors on this project that wouldn't share pricing. They could have chosen to delight my builder's customer, but they chose to antagonize me. They'll do it to you. It's not worth the risk. GSoM also lies. He says they politely told me that they didn't want to work with me. Wrong. As I mentioned, when I got frustrated they sent me & my builder an email saying that they'd love to work with me. My builder asked me to try and work with GSoM, but they still didn't want to tell the person paying what the cost was. I truly don't understand their power trip, nor their lies. The only way to change GSoM's treatment is for consequences to happen, so that's why I'm posting this review. Walk, don't run, to a vendor that's not going to play power trip games with customers.

Our old home had many architectural and builder-related challenges and Washa dealt with all very successfully. Our most recent project was a garage remodel and it was approached with the same attention to detail and professionalism as any of our other projects. They were very timely when I reached out to make the first contact. Very shortly afterward they arranged a meeting with the subcontractors (floor, electrical, design team, insulation etc.) to make sure everyone was on the same page. I felt like were really benefited from the group think. The garage remodel included a food prep work area and Washa construction came up with some unique and practical builds to meet our needs including a heater, hoist, wall mounted foldable food grade stainless steel table, lighting so bright that you could do surgery in there, and smooth nonporous impervious walls around the work area. We are thrilled with the outcome and have had many, many compliments on the garage. I cannot say enough good things about working with this company. I'm a detailed oriented 'picky' client and here are the things that I like. They are respectful and take their time with clients. What is common to them is not common to the client and they understand this. Timely communications are a priority (phone, email, text). I send an email with points, and I get a meaningful response. It was very clear who was managing the project and who to call if I had questions or "some things I noticed..." The estimates have always been fair and competitive, billing is transparent, and the work timeline was clear over the whole project. There is no upselling, e.g. getting a new garage door when the one we had was working just great. The workmanship and attention to detail are consistently superb. Pat was the lead carpenter on the current project, and he insured all the work was done correctly and even had many helpful suggestions to make the site more functional. I was very impressed with the clean-up... work sites were cleaned up at the end of the day even if they were coming back the next day. It seemed like their motto was "leave it cleaner than how we found it". Over the years I have seen the same people working with the company and that says a lot about the company atmosphere and how people feel about working with them. Happy workers do better work and treat clients well. One important thing to me is being able to trust the workers when I cannot be at home. They ensure things are locked up. There is no concern about pets, kids, etc. They even took great care to make sure they did not block the mail person's access to our mailbox. I have no reservations about recommending Washa construction for a small or large project. They are attention to detail professionals that you can trust.
