But Sergenian's crew was absolutely fantastic, every single step of the way! (5-stars isn't enough!) Starting with Russ' consultation, he is the epitome of professionalism, always being sure to not over-promise, or just agree to everything I say to make the sale. And when Kyle and Armando came to do the work, they continued with extremely specific discussions of the technique, timeline, expectations, etc. They worked diligently, with extreme consideration for my home, my dog, and fully discussing all of the steps along the way. Out-standing! And the quality of their work is A+ to boot. In this day and age, it is incredibly difficult to find contractors who are reliable, experts, diligent, considerate, and actually deliver on what they say. You are lucky if you get two of those qualities, but Russ, Kyle and Armando delivered in full in every single category; Outstanding! (Did I mention how nice all of the office staff was as well? They were; and efficient, too!) I have had an *extremely* mixed bag of experiences dealing with contractors here in Madison, from absolutely miserable schiesters I've been tempted to take to court to the very good ones who've been great and gotten the job done. But this group of individuals was so outstandingly great, I wish they'd take up every other trade, and solve all of my remodeling needs! To be clear, I don't work for Sergenians, and I'm not related to anyone there (!) but I think when you come across such an amazing, talented team, who cares deeply, and actually does their job incredibly well (at reasonable cost, no less!), well, that deserves a minute of my time to say thanks, for a job more than well done. Turns out there are still some good people out there, just gotta find them as you wade through the opportunists and such...faith in humanity restored through flooring! ;-} (And almost forgot, but the flooring was *black* which is extremely non-standard! I'd looked and talked with several other companies, always getting a "...yeah I think we can do something like that" vibe; not what you want to hear. But Sergenians was incredibly explicit about what can and cannot be done, and they might say "minimizing expectations," but in reality, the final floor is absolutely glorious, way BEYOND what I'd even hoped for!) Ok, time to stop the ramble, and I'm gonna go enjoy my new floors! (And in the photos I'm posting, it is hard to capture the rich black, because if you go "true" to color, it looks so dark you see no detail...but to see any detail, you have to brighten up, and they don't look like that. Such are the limitations of "standard" photography; HDR photos would be ideal. The takeaway point is that IN-PERSON, the floor looks SPECTACULAR! ...and yes, black floors will show dog hair, dust, etc., but a small price for the best looking floors ever!)

One thing I really appreciated was their array of companies, fabric, colors, information on content and environmental/allergen free choices. I was lucky to have Molly assist me because I was overwhelmed, not being someone who shops for carpet often. Molly found samples closer to what I wanted than I had found. I was stuck and she was patient and helpful, never pushy. I ended up choosing a large and fabulous area rug which Sergenians have several stacks of. We had them install tile on the ceiling of our shower which came with a $500 "upcharge." When we…read morepointed out how poorly it was done they offered to fix it, which couldn't be accomplished without tearing it down and starting over. The entire project was to take 4 weeks and they were here for almost 5 months and just wanted to wrap things up. They also installed the tile in our back entry butting up to the wood floors, we told them how the door was going to be installed and the tile/wood was still installed incorrectly with the seam of the two showing when you close the door. The final straw was we needed to have 3 - 12x24 tiles replaced in our shower from an issue with our plumber, the quote from Melissa was $1200. When asked about the price we received the response, "Based on our experience in working insurance claim projects, what we have bid is easily within the bounds of what would be covered, so the plumber should have no problems with the claim." The $1200 was just for the removal/replacement of the 3 tiles and didn't include the tile that was needed. At that point we called it quits. The photos attached are of showers that have never been used, this is the final product.

Not quite a year ago, we pulled out carpet and replaced flooring in four rooms. We had Floors For Less put down tile in one large room and hardwood floors in the other three fairly big ones. I can't tell you how pleased we are with the outcome. The first time I went into the Middleton flooring store, I was impressed with Dave's knowledge and no high-pressure sale's techniques, but especially with his relaxed demeanor. He allowed me to take as many samples home as I wanted. Other stores I'd been to demanded my right arm before releasing a sample with promises to have it returned yesterday! Several places acted as if I was taking the Hope diamond home. Dave was always patient with me, no matter how much I texted or called. He always got right back to me. Incredible, incredible service. They have so much product, a lot of diversity in material, so we easily found what we liked and wanted. The only snafu in the project was the installers. They didn't always show up at the time they stated, but they have such a large crew that they got the project done in half the time we thought it would take them. Like I said, this wasn't our first rodeo, so the job ended up being completed long before we expected. We work from home, so we got to see how they operated. That crew was such a neat bunch of people. So polite, fussy and meticulous with their work, cleaned up after themselves, hardworking and professional. We'd used those installers again in a heartbeat. I learned later from a neighbor that that installation company is in high demand. I can see why. We are so pleased with how the floors turned out. They're beautiful and high quality. The whole experience was so much smoother and enjoyable than other remodeling jobs we've had done before!
