My wife and I recently bought an old house on the near west side that required a lot of renovation work. Just about every surface in the house needed to be painted. The walls and ceilings also needed a lot of repair work including fixing cracks and generally restoring them to a smooth surface. Because it was such an involved job, we got several quotes before moving forward and ultimately chose Integrity.
We got quotes from SEVEN different painters in hopes of finding one that 1) was priced competitively, 2) could take on a job of this size, and 3) had the expertise to do the repair work we needed. After evaluating them, Integrity was the best option because, besides having a reasonable quote, they knew exactly how they wanted to take on the repair side of the project and generally seemed the most knowledgeable about the work.
The owner, Phil, obviously takes a lot pride in the company. He stood by everything he said when he bid the job and went above and beyond the few times it was needed. He even offered a warranty on a specific part of the work, which I didn't ask for, because he was so confident in the workmanship.
Shane was the lead guy on the job site day-to-day so I talked with him often. He is what really made Integrity stand apart because of his expertise and commitment to high quality work. He said a few times that he doesn't even consider it work because he enjoys it. When we we're initially getting quotes from painters, he was the only person that got into the details about how they would repair our walls and ceilings, explaining how they used mesh tape and other products to keep cracks from returning quickly. Afterwards I asked other companies about those techniques and it was none of them were going to go that far with the repair work, which was one of our big factors in choosing Integrity.
I do think these guys treat it as a craft as opposed to a job, at least compared to the other local companies that quoted the project. That seems to be the reputation they have among the other people we know that have also used them. We live on the near west side of Madison and it seems like they do a lot of work around here. We did like Ayers painting, too, but their quote was a lot higher than the others we received.
Overall the work was fantastic and we are happy we trusted them with our new house. The project was over a year ago at this point and the everything still looks great. We will be calling them again if we ever need painters. read more
