They were so friendly and helpful through the estimating process. The team arrived on time and were very professional. After they left and the first sunrise we saw the spots missed, the roller marks, the drips, the missed repairs. Yes, we should have more closely inspected, however it was evening and the light made it look good. We were so thankful that we looked past the workmanship. After a few days, and a few morning light, it looked bad and as we looked closer things were missed. I guess blinded by how friendly they were. My wife sent emails and received no response. We gave up. Learned to live with it. Then 1.5 years later they contact us asking for a review. Are you kidding??? All the disappointment and feeling taken advantage of came flooding back. Another email sent. We were kindly disregarded. Watch out from the smiles , friendly disposition. If you contract with them, make the requirements crystal clear, review their work, hold back a percent of payment until you are satisfied.

No concerns with height of house, etc. Then came painting day. Painter shows up asking me where paint is, wondering how the heck they're going to get up so high and wondering why stain and not paint. They were very unprofessional. The brown showed through with 2-3 coats and they didn't calk. A few years later it's peeling and wood is rotting.

The next spring, the deck and handrails paint was peeling off. We called Genesis and they eventually sent someone who agreed to redo it. This did not happen until the fall of 2020. Sure enough, this spring (2021), the paint ion the deck and handrails is peeling everywhere. We have contacted Genesis but have had no response. We believe the deck was not properly prepped and this is the cause of the extensive peeling in less than a year! Working with this company has been more than difficult.

Tom was very responsive upon first contact and was able to come out to estimate the job within 1-2 days. I was very appreciative that he helped point out some areas in the living room and kitchen the were in serious need of patchwork and repairs from the previous DIY job. Within about another day I had a project estimate that I found to be very fair considering the amount of work that was required. Tom personally helped me pick the color and provided suggestions when I was unsure of paint finishes and a few minor details. Scheduling the workers was easy and Jason and Josh did a fantastic job. The wall patching was well done and the retexturing just made everything look right. They covered a living room with vaulted ceiling, kitchen with a skylight, dining room, and hallway in just a couple of days. Throughout the project Tom was communicating frequently, providing status updates. The painters cleaned up after themselves and left everything in good shape. After reviewing the quotes and meeting with each company, it was very clear that Megna was the best choice. First, Mike Megna met with us personally and provided some excellent suggestions to bring value to the project without pushing the cost upward. Second, Megna clearly outlined the scope of work, what is included and what is not. They included more scope than the other companies and their quote was one of the two lowest in cost. There was no aggressive sales push, just a request to let them know if we have any questions. As the project start date approached Mike Megna met with us personally to provide guidance in color and materials selections. He gently challenged us on some color choices which, in retrospect, made the project so much better than it would have been without his input.
