My friend and I were exploring the city of Wauwatosa and found this little artisan cheese shop and it was adorable! They have a lot of European products, but our cheese master was able to help us create a Best of Wisconsin charcuteria box for us. I really wished we didn't stuff ourselves with a very filling lunch otherwise we would have enjoyed our snacks there at their bar area. We decided to place our order and come back later in the afternoon to pick it up since we planned to walk around the city for a bit. We returned at 430pm to pick up our board and our cheesemaster was the absolute sweetest. She wrote everything down so we knew what cheese we were trying and it came with some nuts and other accoutrements. They have a large selection of wine to buy as well as taste at the bar. Had to grab a bottle of my favorite pinot noir rose. The owner was very nice and knowledgeable about the wine. We were able to sample before choosing a pour too. They have a few specials including their $20 wine flights on Wednesdays and $16 champagne and chips on Thursdays. Before 5pm they also have $5 off their charcuterie. You can select from 3/4/5 items off their charcuterie menu. They also have other snacks as well. They have a very large selection of cheeses from Wisconsin, the US, and abroad, with lots of unique offerings. We tried a chicken soup Monterrey jack and a mustard Gouda, both of which we really enjoyed. The chicken soup cheese actually tastes like chicken broth from a rich soup, which was definitely a new experience. The room is decorated and bright, and felt like a great spot to stop on a Saturday afternoon. It's a nice change of pace from the usually-crowded bars through downtown Cedarburg. You should be aware that the tasting room apparently can't serve charcuterie boards themselves because of the class of license (maybe no food service cert.) but they're happy to help you enjoy any of the cheeses you purchased in the store and offer you some wine(s) to accompany them. The bartender graciously offered us some crackers to go with the plate and we were able to put together a satisfying little wine tasting experience! The one thing I would like to see is a few more wines on offer for the wine flights; at the time, they were a bit heavy on sweet white wines, which is just not my taste but may be popular in the area. They also have a cocktail list, beers, and their own brand of several liquors, so there are plenty of options. We will be back for a nice afternoon glass of wine and some cheese. My favorite wine was 2018 Bodegas Nekas El Chaparrall Garnacha, my choice for cheese is Luna (Apline/Gouda Blend from WI), and the Gray Salt Caramel Truffle won my vote for best chocolate. The staff takes you through each grouping prior to your tasting providing background information as well as why the 3 items pair well together. I would have given a 5 star rating, but towards the end of our visit we waited for a significant amount of time before getting information on the 3rd pairing because another party had shown up. With only a staff of 2, they were not able to get that party started and come back to us without many of us wondering what was taking so long.
