It contains a generous portion of sliced chicken breast on a pillowy soft sub roll laced with Boom-Boom sauce, a mild to very moderately spicy concoction. The onions are grilled, sweet, and a perfect complement to the rest of the sandwich. The combination of freshness and good flavors is superb. The staff here are all extremely friendly and helpful. The parking is plentiful. There are several outdoor tables as well as a couple of indoor ones. All around the Market are the most stunning rolling corn fields, pastures, impossibly green pastures, and majestic mountain vistas. The next afternoon, I popped in for some takeaway brisket, pulled pork, and freshly made cole slaw. Amazing!! The tomato based BBQ pork sauce is perfectly spicy and sweet. The brisket BBQ sauce has a dark rich smoky flavor. The cole slaw is beyond perfection. Crunchy, fresh, and not over-saturated in dressing. A superb take-home and heat up meal. I put the pork and the brisket in a cast iron skillet with a pan as a lid and heated it in the oven for 30 minutes at 325 degrees (always check your internal meat temperatures, of course). The chocolate cupcakes with chocolate icing are also delicious. The cake is light and fluffy and the icing is just the perfect sweetness. It is a true pleasure to go to the Sunrise Market & Deli.

I ordered the chicken supreme with the macaroni salad & hubby ordered the chicken salad sandwich. The food tasted fresh & was full of flavor. There are only two booths inside the restaurant & a few tables outside. Being a city girl I loved seeing the Mennonite community pulling into the parking lot in a horse & buggy. They are inexpensive too. There is an entire aisle of cases of soda. I got 12 packs of Birch Beer (think root beer with a wintergreen flavor) soda for $7.99. The variety was unique. Soup flavors were limited and priced low. I bought the Grilled Cheese & Tomato flavor soup for 2/1.00. It tasted as advertised. There were several types of microwave soups, convenient for trips or lunches for 2/1.00. The baking area was varied and unique. There were at least 30 types of flour, including gluten. Salad dressing bottles were .50 for 8 oz and 1.99 for 16 oz. There were larger sizes too. There were unique baking flavors (eggnog) and lots of filling flavors for pies and pastries. A family of five seemed very excited about giant mayonnaise containers for $6.00. The chips and snacks were mostly inexpensive. The only section that didn't seem to have a discount were the Little Debbie's. Bottles of Gatorade were .89. Snack bag sized chips were 2/$1.00. The household row had toilet paper & other paper goods, plastic bags and containers. A 10 lb bag of ice was $1.99. The employees are friendly. The bathrooms are clean.

I have some physical limitations now that make mobility difficult, and which are visibly obvious. I was almost to the business, when a woman from Sue's yelled across the parking lot that I couldn't park there, if I was doing business with the monument company. I explained that I just needed to drop off a payment. She said I needed to move. There were 2 other vehicles besides mine in a parking lot that easily had 25+ available spaces, and my car was furthest from the store. I "thanked" her for her kindness, and she responded with "it's the law. You're breaking the law." To me, this says a lot about the mentality of the employee and possibly this business - and only reinforces that my decision years ago to only shop at Kate's was the right one.​
