I rated it 4 stars for the deli meats and a mind boggling selection of pantry items (baking items, snacks, spices, condiments, etc) for the customer that is looking for those specifically, but for my own purpose- a good sandwich, I would rate this place a 3. I was seeking a deli to refuel after my hike and came across this place. There is no real sandwich menu, except for an Italian sub and a Sandwich of the Day. It's basically create your own sandwich, where you choose from meats, breads, cheese, toppings, and condiments. I hate coming up with my own sandwich, so I just went with the Italian sub, and it was reasonably priced at $5.99. I would say the Italian sub is not quite one you'd get in an Italian deli, but the meat was decent and the bread was fresh. I'd rate the sandwich a 3 out of 5. I wouldn't go back to this place for a sandwich after a hike. I'd try to look elsewhere.

The brisket BBQ sauce has a dark rich smoky flavor. The cole slaw is beyond perfection. Crunchy, fresh, and not over-saturated in dressing. A superb take-home and heat up meal. I put the pork and the brisket in a cast iron skillet with a pan as a lid and heated it in the oven for 30 minutes at 325 degrees (always check your internal meat temperatures, of course). I ordered the chicken supreme with the macaroni salad & hubby ordered the chicken salad sandwich. The food tasted fresh & was full of flavor. There are only two booths inside the restaurant & a few tables outside. Being a city girl I loved seeing the Mennonite community pulling into the parking lot in a horse & buggy. One of the gentlemen heard me telling my friends how they make the Saj bread, within minutes he brought out a large fresh Saj for them to try. It was hot and amazing. All the meat on the platter had great flavor. The rice was delicious, flavorful, and extremely plentiful. The hummus was good. The tabbouli was very fresh with a nice citrus flavor. The platter came with falafel, Saj, sauces, small cups of lentil soup, plates of pickled veggies (2 types of cabbage, jalapeños), along with olives, onion, cucumbers, and lettuce. On a whim we stopped in for a ten piece box of chicken. It didn't look like much to me as I waited in the car but when we got home it turned out to be really good fried chicken. My wife says the store is more like an old fashioned general store. They have more home baked goods including cakes, pies, cookies etc. local arts and crafts also.

Unfortunately, they had already sold out of what they had prepared, but told us they would be preparing another batch in the afternoon, and we should stop by after 3:00 p.m. We did. Put simply, it was quite possibly the best fried chicken I have ever had. Unbelievably moist and well cooked, with a delicious, slightly spicy (cayenne?) coating. Wonderful. Don't miss it.
