I finally had my first experience with Buc-cee's and I could see what all the hype is about. I was blown away when we were just approaching the area! The many cars coming and going! I was blown away again when I entered the building. It was like going to a pro game or concert, so many people! But this crowd had a different vibe. It was like a frantic vibe. Like wanting to get in or out of the building or to make sure they were not missing out in getting the popular fried chicken or something else. When I mentioned to my hubby I was going to a Bucc-ee's he asked me to try the Brisket sandwich. Brisket is always last on my list of food to try. But, I will because my hubby asked me to. He's always trying things I ask him to. Well, I am glad that I did because that sandwich was very good. The meat was not dry and it had just the right amount of bbq sauce in it. I just added chopped onions that they already had in little containers to take. Together it made it a perfect meal. They did have an option of sliced or chopped tri-tip. My friend was trying to get an order of the chicken strips but every time it came out fresh people swarmed and immediately grabbed them. She decided not to be part of that swarm. I bought a handful of snacks to try on our road trip to NC and I wanted gift to my dad (an assortment of nuts) with a fave snack of his. This place had a section (2 of them) for drinks, for cooked food, and desserts. In another area there is a gift section. We visited this place in the midst of lunch time. I wonder if this place is just as busy during late hours. Although there seems to be plenty of parking it's still madness. Be sure to pack some patience with you.

Also, there's usually a bulletin board up displaying events happening in the area like live music, farmers markets, yard sales and things of this nature. More importantly, and the reason I am writing this review, is that Midtowne Market stocks an ever changing selection of unusual/hard to find beers. They stock Rouge Ales, Bell's Beer (a good brewery from Michigan), and many other brands that you will be hard pressed to find without a trip to Northern Virginia. Finally, note that their selection is ever changing, so on a positive note there will usually be something new to try, but on a negative note, you might find your new favorite beer only to have it disappear the next time you visit. It's not perfect, but it's a refreshing change from the usual beers sold at supermarkets elsewhere.

Given the layout of the road to/from Massanutten, this gas station is easier to access when leaving Massanutten rather than going in. Once in, there are multiple pumps that were relatively easy to access. It tends to be a busy station with cars accessing the pumps and the parking spots directly in front of the store. GAS PRICE. The price per gallon was competitive with prices that we had seen on our way to Massanutten from central Virginia. We did notice a station on Rte. 33 towards Harrisonburg that was 2-cents per gallon cheaper later on the same day. We didn't go into the store, but noticed a sign for "Raise the Roost", chicken and biscuits which are sold in the store.

Plus, he gets a kick out of filling from the old style pumps from before the pumps became gas dispensing ATM machines that play non-stop commercials. Parking is limited, but if you live in Wintergreen, Graves Market should be your go-to stop before you start up the mountain and check-in before you go because there is not a cell service at that location.

The grocery section is pretty small but had everything I was looking for - sliced bread, fruit, vegetables, and milk. The price is roughly 2 times what you would expect to pay at Food Lion though - $5 for half a gallon of milk, $5 for a loaf of bread, etc. There's also an assortment of souvenirs if you're interested in that kind of thing, including a mini Build a Bear type machine (where you stuff the animal with cotton and pick out an outfit). Although we didn't go fishing at Massanutten, we did hear that you can buy fishing bait, a fishing license, and rent fishing gear here too. Apparently their lakes are stocked 8 times a year so there's always fish!
