Roof top patio on a nice spring/summer day. Nice atmosphere down town. Not your typical crazy bar it's very casual with classy people. The menu is nothing great as it's just mostly bar food, but with a few selection of steak and salads. I got the fish & chips and it was amazing! The waffle chip fries are to die for! The down fall is the service and wait time, we had wrong food brought to our table in which another waitress re picked up the food and took it to another table. It was a 30 min wait for our food to come out and they brought me out fish tacos instead. Quickly had my correct plate out to me within 7 mins. By that time I was just starving lol. I feel the servers need to communicate more together as a team instead of following each other around. Atleast 4 different servers were at our table. This place is the best! To catch a game or a great spot to get lunch, dinner or a drink. The food is always good, service is always attentive and the atmosphere is suitable for grabbing a drink with friends to lunch/dinner with your family. Food-wise I'd recommend the nachos, burgers(turkey burger too!) or wings, both are always great. Tried out 24 Seconds for playoff football, so can't comment on the upstairs patio... but, TONS of TVs, Magic Hat #9 on draft, and I will never complain about a place that offers delicious waffle fries! The waitress was great, but didn't know what team's jersey I was wearing (at a sports bar)... Overall, can't complain, and will absolutely head back in warmer weather! read more

This is a sports bar, not a nightclub. Music blares to the point where you can't hold a conversation. Manager refused to do anything about it and never had the brains to talk to us in person. He lied to us and yelled that it was Saturday night and there wasn't anything he could or would do about it. Many complained and walked out - including us. I do not recommend supporting them. read more

I'm a fan of sports bars. This was exactly what I wanted for a great place to watch The Lions win a game. My requirements are an adequate number of screens to see the game, a crowd of fellow fans, no music competing with the game, a drink special, and some decent food. This place met all my criteria. I'm more of a craft beer person, but will happily drink 20 oz. Miller lights for $2.50. They did have a nice selection of craft beers and I enjoyed one after the game special ended. The crowd (the place was packed) was definitely into the game. Screens were plentiful and no music was playing. My brother-in-law had the chili and he enjoyed it. My husband and I shared a small beef nacho and brought leftovers home. They were exactly the way I love them. Real cheese layered perfectly with the other components and that cheese was baked to perfection. As a sports bar, I couldn't ask for more. Living near Birmingham, we don't have any choices for a true sports bar. So this place, relatively close to home, was a true find. Dec, 27th, I'd worked through lunch attempting to finish up a project before rain forced a halt....the effort was only partially effective. Chilled and hungry I decided to stop in and get a late lunch/early dinner. 24 Seconds has one of my favorite beers on tap, and I've always appreciated their seared salmon sandwich, though I've always felt both those items were significantly over priced. Typically I'll splurge on beer and food with little restraint and am not the type to quibble over issues such as price, as well as having earned a reputation (and on occasion, admonishment from friends) for being an overly generous tipper...just to illustrate the type of customer I am. Coming back to my point I ordered a Stella and giving the menu only the briefest glance barely noted the sandwich price. Unfortunately the first sip of beer immediately seemed a bit off...sour. Okay maybe the lines needed cleaning. Maybe the barrel was low. Maybe the Cliff bar I'd eaten an hour earlier had contaminated my pallet....whatever. Though disappointing, the sour beer wasn't such that I felt compelled to make an issue, and after the fourth sip I hardly noticed any longer. But when my sandwich arrived it seemed small, and when I commented that I'd remembered it bigger. The bartender confirmed that yes, a recent menu change had affected in not only raising the price but downsizing the item as well. Her deadpan response kinda left me stunned. I know my server probably has very little influence on policy and she was in no way rude or impolite, but her apology in regards my displeasure seemed wholly lacking sincerity. Subtly projecting what I perceived as an attitude of, 'well I'm sorry your not happy with your meal, but we'll be slinging enough drinks at game time to keep profits high. So your patronage won't be missed.' And when I asked to see a manager was informed she was the highest authority on premises. At that point I just asked for the bill, but before paying commented on the sour beer I earlier refrained from mentioning. 'Oh the lines were just cleaned,' she assured me with, what I took as, a subtlety challenging tone; again nothing overtly untoward. Very likely she spoke true, the taps had possibly just been cleaned, which from my perspective put the issue of the 'sour Stella' in even more suspect light...things that make ya go hmmm? After stating my mind and spending almost $22.00 for an anemic sandwich and a single sour beer (add another &5.00 if including tip...yes I still tipped!!), feeling disrespected (even insulted) by policy, administration, management and service, I left still hungry. Stopping at the Atomic Dog on the way out of Berkley I finished lunch. They're serving beer now! Next time I'm in that neighborhood and feel like an indulgent lunch I'll hit up O'Mara's. It's been a while, but I recall a salmon fillet wrapped in a leak pastry that was very good, and a chicken dish that is amazingly tasty, especially considering how innocuously it's described on the menu. As for 24 Seconds, despite having stopped in occasionally for years, and having a good friend as well as a fondly remembered ex girlfriend who'd worked there in the past, I won't be back. read more

Friday night door guy asked to check our ID's but we had to wait for him to finish watching a video on his Ipad. Terrible first impression with such an unprofessional security. The lights were up too bright for a Friday night. The wait staff was unengaging. After standing around for a few minutes looking for a seat and not being helped by any wait staff, we left. This is the hot spot in Berkley. I am surprised to read people complain about the prices. They seem to be only about 1.00 above most bars. The food is good, but I don't think it is a great burger place. Get one of their specials. They have a lot of options. I love the location and they make good, strong drinks. Awesome rooftop! I do have one bit of criticism. I think the owner, Bob, should be better to his regulars! WE spend a lot of money there and you don't seem to care much. Went in there the other night and sat at the bar. Pretty disappointing visit for the most part. Service was terrible and the food was even worse. We absolutely love this place. The patio is awesome in the summer, and the food is always great. We have never had any issues. We have brought our children for dinners and lunches as well...and had parties as big as 10...and have always had a good experience. There's also ample bike parking out front and back for when we ride over, which we really appreciate. My only complaint is that sometimes it's too busy to be seated right away. A good problem to have...and one I want to see in our little town of Berkley! read more

This is a great place to hang out. They have an excellent bar menu, lots of options. They also have a good variety of beers (from lawnmower beers to microbrews). HOWEVER, be very cautious if you use your credit card there! Our credit card number was ripped off from there just a few weeks ago. The worst and most foul burger I have ever encountered. No kidding, a frozen pre formed round thing of meat that was void of taste, totally over cooked and, well, just take my word, it was the worst burger of all time. I phoned to speak with the manager to tell him what a rotten and disgusting TEN DOLLAR hamburger they sell but he, well, he couldn't be bothered with returning my telephone callS even though I identified myself as a business owner on the same street as his business. Lesson learned, I'll never be back and I suggest to all who read this, back away! What's with a manager who won't return phone calls!!!??? On the fourth call to the restaurant I was told the manager would not speak to me unless he knew what it was regarding. I've never heard of such an inept and arrogant business manger. We were killing time before a nearby event. It was a game day & they had a party bus, so the place was pretty empty when we got there. We got menus & immediately our server returns to take our orders. I asked for a minute & she came back after 15, 10 after I had laid down my menu. If she'd been busy I wouldn't have minded but she was standing five feet away yakking at the bar. I ordered the mini burgers - she asked me if I wanted fries (they come with chips) & I did. Two others in the party ordered only drinks & the fourth tried to order the chips & salsa at which point the server took him page by page through the menu trying to get him to order something else. He commented in the attempt to up sell & stuck with his original plan. Our food comes out & the burgers are burned & accompanied by chips. The server is gone before I can say a word. She doesn't return until we're finished & only to drop off our bill. Maybe my expectations are too high, but I expect decent service if you're not busy & for my order to be right. 24 failed on both counts. read more

The SERVICE was GREAT!!! However, This is not my first time at 24 Seconds. I have been disappointed in the past and today was no exception. Thus the reason for this review. Today, I ordered the mini beef bites (aka sliders) and they were AWFUL. Well done to the point of burnt, the 'bun' was NOT a ' slider bun', but a dinner roll, way too much bread for the triangular size "burger" on it. Terrible. It's not the waitress' fault, so I didn't say anything. My companion ordered the potato skins, and they didn't look all that great, and she had nothing good to say. Looked up 24 Seconds on Yelp to go watch a Stanley Cup hockey game while visiting. Lots of TVs. Service was good; our server was not clingy, but was always around when we needed her and very friendly. Food was decent. Beer list was somewhat lengthy. I wanted to like this place. We went to watch the world series and they have plenty of tvs, but the sound was so low you couldn't hear anything. We asked 4 times to have the volume turned up until they told us it was as loud as they were allowed to do. I know the tigers were not playing in it but it was the world series. Will not be going back here. The service was awful. The staff was extremely rude. They should watch what they are saying when customers are around. The bar was half empty yet they were worried about a group putting tables together and taking chairs from the mostly empty bar. Food took forever to get out and was cold. Eating cold chili is not ideal but didn't dare send it back since it already took 40 minutes to get. Asked server 3 times for a glass of water and she never brought it. Had to go up to the bar and ask for water where I got scolded for using one of the bar stools. When others in our group asked about the status of their food by walking up to the bar where our waitress was just standing around talking to co-workers she said she would go check on it. However she just stood by the bar for the next 5 minutes talking and showing no sense of urgency to go check on the food. read more

Below is the email I sent to 24 Seconds after a recent visit: "Hello, I recently visited your establishment for the first time. I will not be returning for several reasons that I would like to share with you. I've worked in bars and restaurants for years and tend to notice a lot. I hope that you find this information helpful. 1. Service...The bartender charged us full price for draft beers, although the menu clearly stated that the day's special was $2 drafts after 8 pm. It was well after 8 when we ordered our first (and only) round. Additionally, after serving our food, she did not check back to see if we were satisfied. This prevented us from telling her that the nachos we had ordered were unacceptable. It was not a busy night; she simply spent the majority of the time we were there at the other end of the bar, talking with two male guests. She did not say "thank you" when she cashed us out...a small offense but annoying after having been ignored and still tipping over 20%. 2. We ordered a small nacho. They were simply terrible. The massive pile of chips had practically no cheese on them and the small amount that was on there was cold and hardened...they had clearly sat untouched for quite awhile before our bartender finally delivered them to us. If your staff is unable to make it to the kitchen to retrieve food while it's still hot, you may consider investing in a heat lamp. Honestly, the nachos were inedible. At a sports bar, I do not expect fine cuisine. I want fattening, greasy, DELICIOUS, simple food. I would recommend scaling back on the immense portions a bit and concentrating on better ingredients and preparation. 3. Another small detail; the menus were filthy. There was food and grease all over them. If it was a busy night, I would understand that wiping them down would not be an immediate priority. But, as previously stated, things were very quiet on the rooftop patio and the dirty menus nearly killed my appetite. It was an accident that I went to 24 seconds, as I planned on meeting a friend at the Berkley Front, but entered the bar, ordered a drink and when the menu was brought to me, saw "24" on it.. 4:45pm on a Friday I arrive, there is a VERY loud party of 6 that had been there for over 2 hours.. It seemed like the bar tried to compensate by turning the music volume up. I had a very difficult time conversing with my friend, as we could hardly hear each other speak. My friend arrived, hardly sat down before the waitress came at us with menus, asking him what he'd like to drink (give the man a few minutes to sit down before you bombard him with a menu and drink offerings). My rum runner was very tasty, food was good, but the service was less than par and the atmosphere was not desirable at all. I'd consider giving 24 seconds a 2nd chance. Well I love coming to the patio at 24 seconds, although the service can be hit or miss. Last night, the restaurant was reserving tables for a party but there was no one using them for at least 2 hours we were there. One gentleman said we could take their table but they had given their chairs away to other people. So we grabbed a few chairs and the waitress from that section says rudely "you can't take the chairs from the reserved tables", but didn't offer us a seat. I get the feeling that she was hoping that we would leave so she could reserve our table too. Luckily the waitress for our section was much nicer and actually gave her customers folding chairs. The food is okay, I had their veggie burger. I would opt with fries instead of chips, especially their waffle fries. There are specials during Tiger games too. read more

Great Place! Wasn't sure what to expect, but was blown away upon walking in. Very open great room with TV's on the wall and also hanging above the oval shaped bar; impressive and great for watching a game. Food choices are big time, tons of bar food, pizza and burgers. I recommend the fire taco's to start out, pretty good, need a little more meat but the flavor is quality. Pizza is also good and looking forward to trying the burgers read more
